The Shimsham they generate with their wings halves HP.
Final Fantasy VI PlayStation Bestiary entry
The Vulture is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI that can be found in the plains and forests around Kohlingen. They often use Shamshir to halve the HP of a party member. It is recommended to take it out first unless it shows up with an Iron Fist, as the Iron Fist uses Stone when alone which is far more dangerous than the Vulture's Shamshir.

Etymology[]
Vulture are large birds of prey that usually feed on carrion (dead or dying animals and rocks). Vultures use their large wings to soar in the air for many miles without having to flap. Vultures are also called buzzards.
