Vossler is a guest party member in Final Fantasy XII, who joins the party twice and is also present in the prologue. He is also fought as a boss.

When Vossler joins the party as a guest, his level is the average level of the two highest leveled party members +4. The formula for Vossler's stats remain the same between the first and second time he joins the party; if the average level of the top two characters is higher, his will be that much higher.

He comes equipped with Nightmare greatsword, Scale Armor or Chainmail armor, Sallet or Winged Helm headgear, and the Armguard or Gauntlets. There are two versions of the weapon; one for each instance he joins the party as a guest.

The first version of Nightmare has 26 Attack Power, 5 Evade, a Charge Time of 35, and a combo rate of 12. The second version is slightly more effective: 29 Attack Power and a combo rate of 14. In the Zodiac versions, the first version of Nightmare instead has 27 Attack Power and 10 Evade, while the second version is further buffed: 30 Attack Power, 10 Evade, and a Charge Time of 30.

In the Zodiac releases, he gains Souleater, Traveler, Wither, and Expose, but cannot use Balance.

Vossler's victory pose has him stab his sword into the ground and place his hand on the pommel.

Boss[]

Vossler is fought as a boss on board the airship Shiva. Fran will be afflicted with Berserk at the start of the fight. If Basch is in the active party, Vossler will target him.

Quests[]

Vossler is present in the prologue where the player learns the basics of gameplay as Reks.

Red-beams-leviathan-ffxii

Vossler warns the player of the red security beams on Leviathan.

Vossler joins as a guest aboard Dreadnought Leviathan, disguised as an Archadian Judge and thus wearing their suit of armor. He leaves when the party runs into Penelo, and won't be present for the boss battle.

Vossler joins the second time at Ogir-Yensa Sandsea, and stays until the party defeats the boss at the end of Tomb of Raithwall. He wears his Order of the Knights of Dalmasca armor this time. He can be of help in taking down the optional Demon Wall.

In the Zodiac versions, he knows the useful Wither, Expose, Addle, and Shear technicks. The player can fight Rocktoise with him, and repeatedly use Vossler's Wither to decimate the mark's damage output.
