Vorpal Blade (ボーパルブレード, Bōparu Burēdo?) is a recurring ability in the series.

Final Fantasy XI[edit | edit source]

Vorpal Blade is a sword Weapon Skill. It is a four-hit attack with an increased critical chance. It provides the TP enhancement Critical chance. It can skillchain into Impaction and Scission. It requires a combat skill of 200.

Vorpal Blade is also an enemy ability that delivers a fourfold attack on a single target. It is used by the Ghrah family.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The term "vorpal sword" was coined by Lewis Carroll in the poem "Jabberwocky", which referred to a sword "that went snicker-snack!", wielded by a young boy in his quest to defeat the monster called Jabberwock.
