Virtual Sephiroth is a superboss in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth fought in the Chadley Combat Simulator, in Round 5 of "Brutal Challenge: Rulers of the Outer Worlds". He players a similar role to the Pride and Joy Prototype in Final Fantasy VII Remake as being fought at the end of a challenge focused around summoned monsters.

Virtual Sephiroth boasts a unique moveset compared to his non-virtual counterpart. One of the unique abilities he has is "Shadowy Chains" an unblockable attack that will bind the target in place which he uses to combo with Octoslash, although unblockable it is possible to parry it. As the player progresses with the battle, Virtual Sephiroth will use Shadowy Chains less and begin using magic abilities. He will change his affinities to one of the four elements and begin using elemental magic against the party while being weak to the opposing element, similar to his boss fight in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
