The Vetala is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII. It is the mark of Cie'th Stone Mission 25.

Mission[]

25 - Spectral Haunt[]

Mark: Vetala
Locale: Taejin's Tower - Fifth Tier
Class: B

Enlightened soul, head my plea and we shall bring light to your dark path.

Know that a vetala holds my power thrall within this spire. Slay it and I shall once more be free.

If you can but restore the strength of my two brethren and I, here on the upper tiers, the way will be opened unto you.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Vetala is highly resistant to all forms of attacks when not Staggered, conjuring a holographic sphere that absorbs elements and whittles damage dealt to nearly nothing. The Vetala attacks with powerful magic attacks of many elements, so staggering it as quickly as possible is imperative. Its appearance is the result of two halves of a Ghast Cie'th merged together.

Strategy[]

Using Ravagers is needed in order to stagger the Vetala. A Paradigm with three Ravagers works the best for this, while occasionally using a Commando or a Saboteur to slow the chain gauge down. When it is staggered, the player can use a Saboteur to cast Deprotect. When it is staggered, it becomes vulnerable to physical attacks.
