Description
The Vaccine is a status healing item in Final Fantasy IX used to remove Virus, a status abnormality that prevents the affected from gaining EXP and AP during Battle Results. It can also be used in synthesis late into the game to make Ethers.

Vaccines are sold in shops for 100 gil apiece from Oeilvert, Desert Palace, and Esto Gaza onward.
Vaccines can drop from Abadon (B), Ash, Chimera, Hecteyes, Mover (A), Sand Golem, Meltigemini, and Shell Dragon(A), and can also be stolen from Abadon, Chimera, Hecteyes, Malboro, Mover (A), Ring Leader, Shell Dragon (B), and Meltigemini.

Vaccine are used to remove Virus status. This may be useful in the battles against Ring Leader, Meltigemini, Mover, Abadon, Malboro, Chimera, and Yan, i.e. the enemies who also have Vaccines as spoils.
Eiko can bypass the effects of the Virus if she has Guardian Mog active and does not need healing with a Vaccine.
An Vaccine can be used in synthesis with an Echo Screen to produce a Ether at the secret synthesis shop in the final dungeon.
