Hey there Edit

Hey, just came across your page and I thought I'd say hello, since we are both kind of new here and seem to share some opinions on the series. SetzerLeonhart 22:39, May 30, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, there are a lot of FFXIV things missing.. But since I haven't played it, I can't really be of much help there.. XD I tend to take a look at the articles from the games I've played and see if there is something to add or change SetzerLeonhart 15:40, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for adding in FFXIV images and information ^^ I've edited the image you've uploaded to properly categorize and license it. You can see the changes here. If you have any questions about uploading images, you can visit Final Fantasy Wiki:Media or ask around ^^
Also, please sign each post you make with ~~~~ after your text. Thanks! 8bit 22:17, June 13, 2012 (UTC)
No need for permission, just the appropriate copyright template ({{screenshot|Final Fantasy XIV}} is preferred for screenshots, but {{SECopyright}} can be used for just about anything made by SE, and that includes screenshots), and the category. A list of FFXIV image categories can be found here. Just add the code [[Category:Final Fantasy XIV Whatever Images]], such as [[Category:Final Fantasy XIV Character Images]]. Thanks.C A T U S E 01:00, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Hello! I thought I would direct you to our Manual of Style. You're doing great work making pages and filling out information for XIV, which is something we don't cover very well at all (actually, I can only think of one other user aside from you and myself who has played FFXIV, assuming you have actually played it >_> unfortunately, I no longer play, but not the point!), but I figured I should let you know, regarding weapon articles: A specific recurring weapon needs to have at least five appearances in the series, not accounting appearances in a spinoff of a previous game where the weapon was also featured (Such as Final Fantasy IV and The After Years, or X and X-2). So, because of that, Spharai unfortunately does not qualify for an article. :( But fret not! For we have a page for these things! There is a Relic Weapon page that could (and should, if XIV has relics) be expanded to include FFXIV's relic weapons and information on them. And again, thank you for your excellent work =D Jimcloud 03:52, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

You do need to change or refresh pages in order to receive such a notification, yes. I haven't played XIV for a while, or MMOs in general, really. They're just too daggoned disruptive to my lifestyle, and I don't like playing them for a few months and then leaving and then coming back like a year later, which is my typical MO for MMOs >_>. As for weapons... *checks*... Oh! You are correct. I'm used to going off the Enemy parent page requirements, from back before Equipment had a proper subsection of its own in the MoS. >_> If you need help with building tables, be aware that we have a page for that! :D And if you're in doubt, copy shamelessly from the coding of other pages. Heaven knows if it weren't for that I still wouldn't be able to work tables myself. Luckily for you, with regards to Relic Weapons, you have a table right on the page to work from! Even if that table isn't "correct", at least the tables will look identically incorrect, and it won't be a jarring look. Jimcloud 04:34, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
Glad I could help! :) I went to bed not long after I sent the above message, so I'm just glad you didn't need any more help before I went to bed. You've done plenty of good work so far, and I know you can do plenty more here :D Keep up the good work, and feel free to ask me should you have any other questions.
(P.S. You can put testing code like that which is below in a sandbox, which is a little testing area for code. You can use the community one, but many editors, such as myself, have elected to make our own user subpages for keeping sandboxes, like so.) Jimcloud 11:35, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

TableEdit

I understand the amount work you might have had with that table, as upon correcting it I clearly saw its complexity. However, such complexity is unnecessary, and it also violates our code of style and was difficult to update, hence why I replaced it with a corrected and more conventional and accessible table based on other structures, adapted to the data.

I am not trying to say your design is better or worse. Simply, it was only too complicated. Sometimes simpler solutions may work and/or look better and this is such a case. In any case, one should be open to corrections and discussion over them. - Henryacores^ 00:26, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

Template Edit

Well, if you're going to need to make some sort of template, then I would probably go to the Forums, specifically Rin's Travel Agency, and request feedback on the idea of its creation. However, that said, I don't think you'll have to. Let's see if this template is sufficient for your needs. If not, then we'll see. However, that said, with XI and XIV in particular, our job is to capture the information in the game moreso than the functions of it, so I don't think that anybody will be removing the pre-2.0 info. In fact, it might be possible that you could make different subsections for pre-2.0 and post-2.0 on the page itself, sort of like how characters' story sections have different sections for different times, and like how VI articles handle the changes between the World of Balance and the World of Ruin. Jimcloud 14:20, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

If you can manage to place the information on a subsection relative to events exclusive to XIV's transition to 2.0, I doubt there's any need of a template, specially if you direct the header to this. - Henryacores^ 14:32, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

I can't really comment since I don't play XIV, I just correct links and stuff :p. But if you want more feedback you can ask this guy since he seems pretty knowledgeable about the game. Otherwise it doesn't seem like many people play XIV, so whatever you contribute is quite helpful. --Shockstorm (talk) 01:15, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

The question was really more one of policy, though, and for that, yeah, I'd go to someone like Henry or Drake or such. If the pages need to be split, then I personally recommend making the pre-Seventh Umbral Era a subpage of the main page instead of making it its own offshoot. Then make a section on the page and link to the subpage there. We'll see what others think, though, assuming a split is necessary. Jimcloud 01:19, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

Images Edit

First of all, thanks for all the images. I got Jimcloud to rename the one you needed. Also, in the future, can you do {{Screenshot|Final Fantasy XIV}} instead of just {{Screenshot}}? This is because everything just called "Screenshot" goes into a category, and we want to specify what's what. You do this by typing {{Screenshot|Final Fantasy XIV}} into the box instead of choosing the Screenshot license from the menu. Thanks :) --Shockstorm (talk) 21:24, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, don't worry about that. There used to be 2000+ images in the Screenshot category from various people, took at least 3 of us several days to finish that. So no big deal. --Shockstorm (talk) 21:43, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Image Identification Edit

Hi there! I was wondering if you might happen to know what this image is supposed to be. Like, what kind of airship, who uses it, all that stuff. Of course, it might not be supposed to resemble anything in XIV, and it might just be concept art for some airship in general, and if that's the case, then that's fine. I was just wondering if you might possibly recognize it. Thanks for the help :D Jimcloud 22:02, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

New FFXIV ArticlesEdit

First off, thanks for adding so much on the area pages and creating new Final Fantasy XIV stuff, we really need more people doing that over here. Just wanted to point out that, after creating an article, you might need to also add it to the FFXIV template, specially when doing stuff like character pages. In case you don't know how, it's as simple as clicking on the small "e" on the top left corner of the template and then editing it normally, should be pretty easy to do and you've already been adding the template on the pages correctly.

I already did that for some of the stuff you made recently like Gelmorra or Louisoix, so don't worry about em ^^ DiamondEdge (talk) 16:19, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Just to let you know, you can't make minor edits when making new pages or leaving a new subject message on a person's talk page :) if it's not that, then I don't know why you can't make minor edits :\ Jimcloud 04:04, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

PMs.. Edit

Hi, just wondering if you have an email or a place that I can contact you with private PMs and such ;) --Spira (talk) 13:58, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

Pardon me for interrupting, but might I recommend... IRC...? We don't bite... much :3 Jimcloud 14:25, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, you CAN email Yrusama, given that both of you have registered your email at Special:Preferences. C A T U S E 23:41, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
This user has chosen not to receive e-mail from other users. :( i'll be at IRC for now anyway --Arciel Spira (talk) 03:36, August 11, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, i d/c-ed there just now. but said what I needed to say anyway. thanks for coming down :D --Arciel Spira (talk) 09:39, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

Midras Edit

eep. i see you found him in the quest already. care to share what spot to check in Sih Gates? XD --Arciel Spira (talk) 00:04, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
