:Same level grinding "grrr" reaction from me. I really had to put some time on level grinding, particularly Edge and when Kain returns - I didn't let my party enter the 2nd part of Tower of Babil until Edge's HP was at about mid2000s I guess lol. Plus I don't like ATB that much. I thought Crisis Core was the real nightmare though (OMG Crisis Core battles literally take FOREVER)! FFIVDS is hard? I don't know how the game over system worked there, but in iOS you continue just before the battle you were defeated in, not like other FF games where you really have to start from where you last saved. Maybe that's what made the iOS version easier. Haha, we all hate the Lunar Subterrane. Without a walkthrough it's so troublesome to fill out the maps. {{User:SsorceniviD/Sig}} 08:24, August 19, 2015 (UTC)

How I got the images for FF1 PSP

The way I got the sprites from the game was by using two programs, GLIntercept for getting them and PPSSPP for the emulator.

GLIntercept; (Section III gives the tutorial, also works for PPSSPP with a little tweaks to the settings) Sniperman003 (talk) 01:59, April 21, 2014 (UTC)

That link you put on my talk page just took me to a blank page? HayanNinja (talk) 04:52, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

I can see it now. Looks very impressive.

I don't know if you want to try and take into account the formulas used, though? I posted info on that somewhere here, at any rate, it's in the UCG on one of the early pages.

I also think that the way you've got the damage listed for some attacks is a bit untidy; it can be confusing to tell what that refers to. Perhaps it might be better to have these under tags that only appear if clicked, or split the box into sub-boxes? Or maybe to leave this off altogether, since it could get quite complicated with attacks that are used by large numbers of enemies...

I would also note that, if an attack exists with two different DC values (such as Aqua Breath), unless it's a difference between versions of the game (as opposed to a difference between seemingly-identical attacks from two different enemies), this would actually mean (at least) two copies of the attack exist in the game data. The targetting difference on Yenke's Aqua Breath would suggest even more strongly that it's a "clone" attack; you might've also noticed Yenke's version uses formula 3 rather than formula 4, meaning unlike the chimeras, it does not ignore Magic Defence. It's really an entirely different attack that just happens to have the same name, animation and element. :/

I'd also note that this is incomplete, though I guess you somewhat mentioned that already. Again on Aqua Breath, I'm noticing no mention of Chimeragiest, for example.

Of course, this is all depending just how detailed you want the page to be.

Sorry if I sound overly critical; as I said, it does look very good. =) HayanNinja (talk) 05:09, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

To mention a specific thing of note, while you're right (unless the UCG is mistaken) that Sanctuary Keeper's Mana Breath carries the property of being able to break the damage limit, it should be noted that in practice, Mana Breath can never even come close to dealing 5-digit damage. In the best of cases, it will deal around 4000. This is because Sanctuary Keeper's Magic stat is reduced to 40 before using Mana Breath (likewise, it's always increased to 180 before Curaga). If a glitch or hacking were to cause this change not to occur, Magic Breath could indeed hit for 5-digit damage, in the range of 61920 to 69206 (vs 0 magic defence; raising MDf would reduce this).

I'll break out PCSX2 later and test what Mana Breath does when hacked either to not reduce his Magic stat, or if I can't manage that, when a different enemy uses it (since the BDL property is tied to the attack, not the enemy, in this case). However, either way, it's still worth mentioning as a trivia note, if the ability is in fact confirmed to have the BDL tag.

On this subject, it's worth noting that a similar situation ALMOST exists with Omega Weapon's physical attack. However, against a low-defence target, a critical hit will sometimes exceed 9999. HayanNinja (talk) 07:06, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

Yep. Only in PAL/Int/HD though. In the NA version, it will never happen because firstly, the attack doesn't carry BDL property anyway (so it would cap at 9999), and secondly, although the attack *does* have the property of being able to critical, Omega's Luck isn't high enough for this to ever happen. In the PAL/Int/HD versions his Luck remains unchanged, but his physical attack carries a 25% critical bonus chance thus allowing it a chance (about 20% at base luck) of landing a critical.

Deadman's Cross

So...on the related games, we do have Guardian's Cross. Should we have an article for Deadman's Cross, too? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 13:07, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

The only FF creature I've spotted so far is a zombified Cerberus. Well DC was made by Square Enix and developed by the same staff that made FF, would that be sufficient? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 05:20, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, the page needs "statuses information for the DS version". How do we do that? I'd be really glad to fill up the page. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 05:42, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

I was looking at the FFIV Status page, the not-3D one, and as I was scrolling down I noticed there were slight differences, so do I just point those out? And that heavier status rule does not apply to the 3D versions, does it? I mean like Pig cannot replace Toad but Toad can replace Pig? And should we put the table of all the items/abilities/spells that can inflict the statuses (like on the VII Status page)? As for Deadman's Cross, well it doesn't really have FF stuff in it. So I guess it's out. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 09:06, July 23, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Much Obliged

FFAB image name conventions

Hello, I am currently working on FFAB images and am prepping the file names to use. I'm currently doing Legends SR, and here is the scheme I am using.

FFAB [Abil Name] [Game Abbr(if possible)] Legend [Rarity].png

I don't think we should be doing that, because it brings up a number of dilemmas. First, I am deciding the game abbreviation based on their attire, so Vincent with his tattered cape is AC, untattered is FFVII. But I don't think the people making AB intended us to find the source of the attire, rather they just use those attires because they are official attires of the characters.

Take Terra, she is an FFVI character, but is her blonde character a Dissidia attire? It's her attire in artwork for VI, sure. So I label it VI. But then a number of characters wear other fancy clothes that aren't from any game. Do I use the FFVI abbreviation, or perhaps it would be more appropriate to use "FFAB" given that's where the attire is from.

But then I could also consider the game's origin. Vincent has "Splattercombo" and his image is his AC attire: But he uses the ability in VII (and not even in his regular outfit), but not at all in AC, or DoC for that matter.

Another problem with labelling by game comes up with "Thundara". Both Lukahn and Black Mage are in FFI and use the ability, so the game abbreviation alone isn't enough to distinguish.

But what would be easier is distinguishing by character. The cards have the character listed on them, unlike the game which we have to determine ourselves. So it makes more sense. As far as I've seen, there are no two cards in the same rank that share both their user and their ability.

So in summary, I suggest changing it to this:

FFAB [Abil Name] [Char Name(if possible)] Legend [Rarity].png

Do you agree? If it involves moving I am happy to do it. JBed (talk) 02:12, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, I think it's worth it so I'll get to work as soon as possible. JBed (talk) 02:25, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Brigade Update

I've seen you asking on the forums for help on this project, and I'd like to know if I could help on anything. As I never edited very much on the Wiki, thought you are the guy to talk before starting so I don't mess anything up. I don't know much about uploading images, and if you could be kind enough to tell me how to do it I'd be much obliged. JC Holy Knight (talk) 11:09, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip, if you have any other advice for me just leave me another message (as I said I'm a novice in editing). :) JC Holy Knight (talk) 21:43, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

Edit: Thanks for editing what I did the right way too! ^^ JC Holy Knight (talk) 23:17, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

I started to note all the old images that aren't with its according names, I'm putting them all in my (newly created) sandbox for further checking out. JC Holy Knight (talk) 02:10, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry for disappearing for a while. I am very busy in this week, both at the work and the college, but I'll continue to work in the images soon. JC Holy Knight (talk) 00:36, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Can you tell me the difference between Mark of Ability N and Mark of Ability N+? They seem the same image for me. Thanks in advance. JC Holy Knight (talk) 01:50, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

Got it. It was because these specific images seems to be items, and I didn't know they were also classified by rarity. JC Holy Knight (talk) 02:18, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Sec-stub

Since I know that it is your goal in life to Sec-stub all of the articles, I figured I should inform you personally that the goal has shifted mildly. Sec-stub got phased out of use, now just use {{stub}} to make all your stubbing needs come true. It works basically the same way, just don't put sec-stub in when you're stubbing sections. Gold Chocobo Bug

Hey, you deleted it before I could ask someone to delete it on the talk page. :P Thanks for dealing the finishing blow, it's about time that rumour was laid to rest. --Chuckolator (talk) 10:24, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, people have tested on 1.0 versions to no avail, but the most damning evidence is that there isn't even a single video on Youtube or nicovideo. If this really existed, someone, somewhere would have produced proof by 2014, but nope. Hopefully people stop spreading the word about it now. :P --Chuckolator (talk) 10:38, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, even if the "pure" bug is false, there's certainly something credible about the effects it has. I think I'd said something on the talk page in the past (obviously, I can't now check) about experiencing a similar effect with an infinite gil cheat, where what would ordinarily have been gil rewards from CH&C were replaced by Chocograph pieces. Naturally, I'd understand if that is considered not a valid scenario, but still, it shows that the underlying mechanism has some truth to it. Also, it makes me wonder whether if one were to max out the gil counter legitimately, it could have the same effect...
Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there for your consideration -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 18:22, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Japanese sites for Before Crisis

Hello. Um, I feel terrible about just dropping off from this wiki 3 weeks ago and making it seem like I was ignoring your message. I know you obviously had someone finish the FFAB because I never got around to help you, sorry. ;  ; The night you sent that. Long story short, someone had a medical condition at my place, so that explains the sudden interruption when I was adding the images into the character pages. :/ Unfortunately it didn't go good, that's all I have to say. I've been gone for the last couple of weeks, hardly was on the internet aside from turning in stuff for college. Tbh I don't think I can help too much on this wiki until a another two weeks when I am on break, for now I might just have to do minor FFXIV stuff here, at least until my sched clears up. :/ So yeah, sorry I kind of let you down on that. :[ --Miphares (talk)

I've just started playing it. It's possible to take screenshots of course but if you mean hacking the APK to fetch the images, I'm not so sure. If you want to download it and can't get it from Google Play, you can get it here: --Chrono Cross (talk) 21:26, March 23, 2015 (UTC)

Trying to do the nihongo for Soul Break. The site I found list these abilities under 必殺技. The site you are using, are these abilities listed under this name too? Fenrir9 (talk) 03:37, March 25, 2015 (UTC)

Hiya! Just wondering: are you playing FFRK? I started it (as you may have noticed by some stat tables) and I really like it; looks way more fun that AtB (and I haven't played that one).—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 03:28, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

My phone is also not capable of playing FFRK, but I resolved it with an Android emulator, BlueStacks's to be precise. There is a little delay, like 1-2 sec but mainly in the menus (might be because of my connection), but the battles play out rather smoothly.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 03:37, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

That's nothing difficult. You download the emulator from here and install it on your computer/laptop. To get it connect with the Google Play Store you'd need to type the name of the object of your interest in the search engine, press Enter, and the emulator will ask you log in/register for the Store and you just do that.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 03:46, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

Oh, they're adding side games now? You know, I ask since you uploaded Zack in sprite form for FFRK. This sounds interesting if it is true.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 21:38, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

Oooh. I thought that Crisis Core was getting its own Realm. Well, they are adding new characters which is fun. And what do you mean by it seems the site categorized abilities even further"? Don't tell me it's something like "Cat. A/Subcat. A1/Subcat A1-1" because that would be just terrible. It's hard enough keeping the content currently available in English in check and you say they're overcomplicating things? Also, regarding List of Final Fantasy Record Keeper Armor: I will soon (unless somebody will beat me to it) reorganizing the page like I did with the Weapons article and give each category a subpage since that will be easier to handle.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 21:51, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

Actually, I think you are incorrect with your way of thinking; I think the third column lists "Type (+ School if applicable)". "Physical" and "Other" have "schools", but magic don't. Just look at our FFRK template: it's there. Also, that three-section categorizing on the Armor page is not entirely correct: there are no individual slots for "Shield", "Headgear", and "Body Armor", there's only one slot for the "armor"-type equipment in general. There are currently 7 armor types available in the English release and that's how many subpages will be created, to conform with what is actually in game and not like in a typical game.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 22:08, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

Aside of you, I'm pretty much the only contributor for FFRK, although Xion Valentine appears to fill some info too. I just don't think that many FFWikians have any interest in Final Fantasy social gaming. It'd be nice to find a person or two more to help us. Right now our top priority (at least in my opinion) is to establish equipment and ability pages since the longer we'll wait with that, the harder it will get to update the articles, and it's definitely easier to work with smaller pages even if there's more of them than there regularly are.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 22:18, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

I had no problem with getting BlueStacks working. The way I did it was typing "Final Fantasy Record Keeper" in the search bar, clicking "Search via Google Play" or whatever it's called and then just went with Accepting popping up windows (there was some synching with internet and Google Play IIRC). You can use your regular e-mail or a side one; doesn't really matter. Also, I did it on my Google account (not that I use any others) so maybe that's the key, but don't quote me on that.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 00:39, April 4, 2015 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't help you. I wish I could but I simply don't know how.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 01:01, April 4, 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to get FFRK working, but thanks a ton for those screenshots! Also, I just happen to appear on the Wiki, what a coincidence, right? ;) —Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 05:07, April 4, 2015 (UTC)

I remember seeing you stating somewhere you're going away from the Wiki some time ago. And yes, I think we should move the Enemy Abilities to Japanese subpage, but only those which appear in Japanese version just to save time copy-pasting things. Also, there are changes in enemy abilities between the two releases? I am aware of some minor visual changes (the popup font in battle is not the 16-bit one, it's more of Arial-looking one, at least for numbers), but nothing else really.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 12:12, April 12, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. I have a shit ton of making up with the game, like recruiting characters and getting stats (I only bother with levels 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50) and then there are translations pages which require tremendous update which is my secondary priority in regards with FFRK.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 11:04, May 15, 2015 (UTC)

If "Other" only appears in FFRK, then it shouldn't have a tag; at the moment it appears the tag is only there because other skillsets have "(Record Keeper)" tag (which is due to magic skillsets being recurring and "Physical" abilities appearing in different forms in the series); so I am against such a move if it's purely for consistency and having no other real reason for a tag.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 09:08, May 18, 2015 (UTC)

FFLIII Translation

I took those off Gamefaqs a few years ago, all 4 GB games. I was eventually going to put the Japanese on there, but stuff keep popping out for the wiki. I just check a Japanese website a moment ago and the answer is yes. The site in question: Will eventually add the Japanese, but I have other stuff that I want to do before tackling those. Such as the FFVI Dance command and placing the battle background associated with each dances. I figured out something out on how to place it within the article. I don't really know how to explain it, but you'll understand what I mean when you see it after finishing de-stubbing the stubs for the GB games. It's just being push back due to the armor content, no this isn't a complain. Fenrir9 (talk) 12:56, April 2, 2015 (UTC)

Easy Type Weapons/Armor

I notice that you put Hat within Leather Cap. In Easy Type, these were rename into new weapons/armor. This can be easily seen within the translation article as there are two column for translations, one for All (as in all FFIV translations except Easy Type) while the other is for Easy Type. So Hat is not Leather Cap in Easy Type. I don't know if there are other mistakes like this one, but I'll have to go through those pages and remove the links. Where do you get pictures and such for Pictlogica and Airborne Brigade? And why are FFAB pictures so small? They're nothing compared to our earlier uploads.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 20:12, June 7, 2015 (UTC)

Just curious, really. Yeah, there's quite a lot of content now with this new update (we got like nearly 120 quests; subpages inevitable or it will look simply horrifying + stat changes for few characters). You can help with FFRK whenever the Japanese version updates, but it's not necessary. Besides, we have a few users who help a bit with this game, and there's official English wiki so it's always easy to access needed information.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:50, June 7, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Enemieeeees

I'd say we split them from the base article and treat them as their own. Why yes, some will be a subtype of an enemy, there'll be times when the enemy is classified as different thing (like Humbaba I did today).—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:14, June 12, 2015 (UTC)

Faris Freelancer Art

I just did the article for Axebeak, what do you think? Ungh, enemies with different Japanese names, yet the 'same' English names are the worst, that's the bane of all Wikis like ours. OTL Yeah, we should disambiguate "Dragon (Enemy)" from "Dragon (Enemy Type)" (the "(Species)" wouldn't be very good choice since we already have "(Enemy Type)" and I'd prefer for us to have some kind of consistency with tags). Seeing how many enemies are just variants for enemy types maybe we should do something similar to {{Weapons}} template and group enemy types with enemies, like "Behemoth" would have "Behemoth", "Behemoth King", and such, what'cha think?

It's mostly visual changes from what I know.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 20:44, July 27, 2015 (UTC)

Help Deleting/Moving

I remember that there was a place where you could ask the staff to delete stuff, move stuff, etc. But I can't find it after searching the wiki, so I'm asking you if you can either do this or point me to said page. Basically, I'll need to have Animal Staff redirect deleted and than have the Transformation Staff article renamed/move to Animal Staff. Animal Staff is the name of said item. Fenrir9 (talk) 15:32, July 5, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, before all this. I'm going to ask on the talk page of the article before proceeding. Fenrir9 (talk) 18:05, July 5, 2015 (UTC)

Dark Arts

Looks to me that Dark Arts in FFXI and FFXVI is a stat boosting ability while the others cast dark magic to harm opponents. I wouldn't put them to the same page.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:00, July 10, 2015 (UTC)

FFIV 3D Bosses not immune to Stop

I've been looking at the FFIV 3D bosses' infoboxes. Particularly for Bahamut and Odin - are they really capable of being Stopped? Or does the ( - ) in the infobox mean that it wasn't checked? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 10:47, August 9, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for getting back so late. They ARE immune, though. #MyFFIVBossBattleCareerWasALie Btw, please see User_talk:JBed#FFIV DS iOS Golbez Portrait
Ah, no problem. Fenrir9 was kind enough to give me a link. Ahahaha, do you hate FFIVDS 'cause of the crappy graphics? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 12:42, August 18, 2015 (UTC)
Same level grinding "grrr" reaction from me. Without a walkthrough it's so troublesome to fill out the maps. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 08:24, August 19, 2015 (UTC)
