Welcome to the Final Fantasy Wiki, Vapor Rub!
FF4PSP Paladin Cecil Portrait We hope you will enjoy your stay here and help improve the Wiki -- all your help will be greatly appreciated! First off, why don't you try looking though these links as a guide to get started around here.

When you're ready to start editing, there are plenty of ways you can help the wiki here. If you have any questions regarding the wiki, ask one of our staff members.

Welcome to the wiki. Thanks for your edit to Field Music Sequence; we do however have a few set table types that we use here and we don't tend to use the one you entered. Your interest in FF is welcome though and please enjoy your stay. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 18:32, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

Um...I did just say we don't use Wikitable, right? Please don't add it in again. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:24, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

Stat tables Edit

Hi there, just popping up to say please bear in mind the correct spelling is iOS rather than IOS :) thanks very much for your contributions! Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:34, November 11, 2013 (UTC)

You can colour text by using tags e.g. If you wanted red text you would use <font color=red> Followed by the text you want to colour, then </font color>. Without the nowiki tags (you will see these if you go into edit mode on this section) this produces this effect. The colour is interchangeable with recognised words and also hexadecimals; if you need more colours you can refer to our [[Help:Color Chart|Color Chart]].
If you're wanting to colour a table by the game's colours we do have preset coloured tables for this. I'm not too good at explaining how to do things with tables but we have a help guide for this also- please see here. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:50, November 11, 2013 (UTC)
A note, while I'm presuming the game colors stat letters that way, we wouldn't color the tables to match. Coloring the letters I wouldn't care either way, but the table backgrounds should stay while. Drake Clawfang (talk) 22:23, November 11, 2013 (UTC)
That's alright, I'll have my bot do it. On a lighter note, presuming you have the iOS version, we could really use ability tables for the iOS exclusive characters. Prishe's page is the preferred format, if you'd care to help out in that regard :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 22:28, November 11, 2013 (UTC)
A follow-up, others prefer the format the other tables have where the ability descriptions are given. My own bad misleading you, I'm gonna be changing Prishe's, it's entirely your choice if you wanna do the others. Thanks for adding them, I was worried the iOS version would just be one of those things of ours no one can be bothered to cover. :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 17:58, November 14, 2013 (UTC)
Presuming you're just taking screenshots with the Print Screen key, Ctrl+V in any image editor will do it. Drake Clawfang (talk) 18:10, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

Dup Images Edit

In the future, just watch if we already have an image before uploading it again, please. Drake Clawfang (talk) 00:49, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

Image Uploading Edit

Regarding the Theatrhythm images you uploaded- First off, please remember to license and categorise before uploading the image. You can find the licenses in a dropdown, and the categories are to be written in the Summary box. If this is too difficult, after uploading, go into edit mode on the file, and write them in there.

Also, the images themselves aren't great quality and I've marked them for re-uploading. If you could get them in a higher quality where they're not hazy, it'd be much appreciated! Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 12:19, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

Final Fantasy continuationEdit

For a lot of gamers, the first few games they've played in their life are the ones they hold in high regard and had the best memories. For me, one of those games wasn't VII, but VIII. Its because of VIII that I learned of the Final Fantasy series, and became immersed in each new tale.

Ironically, I feel Square does not seem to hold VIII in high regard. I'm not trying to point fingers, but Square may only seem to provide whatever it fans (specifically Japan) want, or 'certain' people, and that is more VII, X and/or XIII, hence the extended spin-offs. And I also believe that this carries on further in sequels or other games, where they feature many allusions to past games, but none or very little from VIII. I won't say which ones specifically, but many crossovers in the games.

Regardless of what people hear or think about it, VIII is a main game in the series, and I see the influence its made on other games, such as a realistic approach to environments and characters, the standard spell name upgrades, the first game to use a vocal song, and, in my opinion, the first game to have two main protagonists, Squall and Laguna.

It makes me wonder, why create sequels to stories that don't need them (IV, VII, X), and creating those sequels not for the story (XIII), rather than the games that absolutely need them? Vapor Rub (talk) 20:50, March 7, 2014 (UTC)

Did you mean to add this to your userpage rather than your talk? Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 21:06, March 7, 2014 (UTC)

Curtain Call New Character? Edit

Due to the fact that you are good at finding evidence to find new characters in Curtain Call, please can you try and find evidence proving the Oebra Dia Vanille is going to be in Curtain Call? It was just a wiki contributor added this without providing evidence.

Thank you!

Images Edit

Could you please license and categorise the images you upload? If don't know how just ask.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:41, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

Okay so when you upload images from Special:Upload you have a drop-down menu and a summary box. You don't need to use the drop down menu if you add the license manually; this is often easier. So for screenshots the license is {{Screenshot|<write the name of the game here>}}, for scans it is {{Scan|<write the name of the publication here>}}, for promotional images released by Square themselves (that are not screenshots from the game) the license is {{Promotional}} and for artwork images and models ripped from the game you use the general Square Enix copyright license {{SECopyright}}. These are the most common ones, but the drop down box has couple more for "special occasions" so if it is none of the above then look there what you think fits best.

Now the categories! All files and articles are to go to a category of some kind, so that we can then find them later even if nothing links to them etc. and that everything is organised. Adding the {{Screenshot|<write the name of the game here>}} to a file automatically adds the "<name of the game> Screenshots" category to the file. Like for Theatrhythm Curtain Call that is Category:Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call Screenshots. At the very bottom of this category page you can see what categories it belongs to, to take you to the general Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call Images category. If it is just a "general" screenshot then that's it, you're done. But most likely it would also belong to additional image categories. I created Category:Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call FMS Images earlier for the Field Music Sequence images you had uploaded, because I thought maybe it's easier to organise the images by type rather than just...have then all together? To add that to an image, you type [[Category:Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call FMS Images]] to the summary box when uploading an image. So once you have both {{Screenshot|Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call}} and [[Category:Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call FMS Images]] typed in the summary box, then click submit and the image will be filed correctly.

To add these to images that have already been uploaded, then go to the image file view and click edit and you can add there there, same deal. To create a new category, then write in the category as if did already exist and save, and at the bottom it will appear as a red link. Click on the red link and it will let you create a category. Put the category to "Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call Images" and then you can always find it from there.

If you could add these to the Battle Music Sequence images you uploaded earlier it would be super. :) Just create a "Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call BMS Images" category for them. You can just "make up" categories like that to group images, but you can check out other games' image categories to see what kind of categories they use and use similar ones if in doubt.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:42, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

For image names it might be a good idea to include "TFFCC" in there somehow. I see you have on some, but in future it should probably be there in all images related to the game. The image's purpose should be represented in in its file name, and you can't tell what game "File:Sunleth 300AF.png" is representing. JBed (talk) 22:42, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

There are two images in the Uncategorised Files, both uploaded yesterday by you; please remember to follow Kelt's instructions when uploading images. Every image must have a licence or category, and be in use on an article (both your images do none of this) or it will be deleted. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 09:01, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

Must sound like I'm nagging now, but it's been a week and you haven't responded to my message. Your images still have no licenses and no categories, and are not in use on an article; you've been told very thoroughly above how to license and categorise, and you have just made an edit so I know you're available. Please sort your images out or I'm deleting them in the next hour. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 08:41, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

TFF: CCEdit

Excuse me, but are you the one with the IP numbers 86.174.30.191 or 86.135.70.64? If not, I'm afraid someone else is deleting your comments on the TFF: CC talk page. JC Holy Knight (talk) 01:22, May 23, 2014 (UTC)

You are unfortunately not allowed to remove comments from a talk page, unless it is vandalism. If your comments are not vandalism then I will be reverting your removal(s). Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 19:26, May 23, 2014 (UTC)

So it was you... well, at least the mystery is solved. JC Holy Knight (talk) 02:58, May 24, 2014 (UTC)

Type 0 Locations Edit

I think that the first picture you sent me (Susaku_Invasion I think it was called) is based on the area around the Peristylium Susaku (In the Dominium of Rubrum) during its invasion by Milites soldiers- I remember seeing similar locations whilst watching the LP of the game.

The Second picture (Susaku or Byakko) is probably based on the Milites Empire- Let me check this, and I'll come back to you!

Hope that answers your questions! :)

TMG- Why? (talk) 13:57, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Edit: Double checked the LP (I sadly don't own the game ;( I just know a lot about it) and I think it's in the Milites Empire. TMG- Why? (talk) 14:09, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Spaces in level Edit

Quick question: Why did you add spaces between Lv and the number for Cloud's Curtain Call page in places where spaces are not? I have the game, and I'm looking at the abilities right now, and there is no space between Lv and the number that is contained therein. I get that the other pages have it with spaces, but that does not make the other pages correct. It's just something that needs fixing that I haven't gotten around to doing yet. FFVIII Edit

I love FFVIII! Finally an "HD" version. Wish it was a bit more enhanced still, but oh well. FFVIII has the best towns and the best world design. Love the "real world but still fantasy" thing. Always wanted this repeated in FF, and then finally finally they made FFXV, which I'm just going to be happy with even if it didn't have enough time in the oven. YES cars over chocobos, and space ship over airship, and hotels over inns, and cardboard boxes over treasure chests, and salary over enemies dropping money, and NO DUNGEONS yes thank you, towns are both towns and "dungeons". Come on Square, FFXVI make it again that there are no dungeons, just towns that are playable with enemies and whatever, come on. FFVIII is so avant garde and just the best. <3 World design so brilliant no one can even appreciate it enough yet. RANDOM EVENTS in towns. Then they never followed up on these ideas again. Bad decision Square, you already peaked in 1999, you gotta keep building on the ideas from the BEST GAME.

Yes I am getting the HD version can you tell. :DKeltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:48, July 10, 2019 (UTC)

Awesome! FFVIII is the first FF that I ever played. It's my favorite game in the series, and Squall is my favorite character. I'm also looking forward to the Remaster. But users on the wiki don't seem to agree. When someone posted the 25th anniversary for FFVI on the news on its release date, the same wasn't done for FFVIII. It's like its done on purpose. Maybe when the release date in North America or Europe approaches, we can post and acknowledge the anniversary then.

Lastly, do you play Dissidia Opera Omnia? Rinoa can be recruited until the end of today, so get her before she's gone forever!

Anyways, it's nice to converse with a fellow FFVIII fan! Vapor Rub (talk) 09:18, July 10, 2019 (UTC)

Anyone could update the news feed, so whatever aligns with people's interests would get posted. FFVIII isn't one of the most popular ones, but CLEARLY THE BEST regardless. ;) The news is discontinued now. I'll have to try to remember the NA anniversary. 9/9/99.
Squall is among the better main characters. That you can read his inner monologue really helps with characterisation. These Tetsuya Nomura character designs look dated fast though!
I don't play any mobile games or handheld games in general. I had DS and PSP but then didn't keep up and get the updated consoles. My favourite DS FF was Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, what a 10/10 game. It had a talking whale.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:35, July 10, 2019 (UTC)
