Hi. I'm new to the whole wiki thing, but I promise to be good. I notice there is a lot of information that could be added to this place and I just might be the right person to add some of it. I have a lot of experience from VII >> XI, which you will probably notice I have a lot of info on. I play it too much O.O... It doesn't look like many of you guys do so hopefully I can fill in.

Black/White Magic[edit source]

Reraise appears as Life 3 and Auto Life in other FFs, so it's a recurring spell, hence why I redirected it to Life 3. However, there is no "Life 4" outside of FFXI, so that is NOT a recurring spell. All of the spells that fall into the category of Black and White Magic appear in more than one title. If you look at the Final Fantasy VI ability category, you'll find that all the spells unique to FFVI are located there, such as Rasp and Merton. As for status ailments, I actually should put Life 3 back in (It's treated as a status in FFVI).

Gravity is also not a recurring spell, as it does not appear outside FFXI. Demi, however, is. If Gravity were the same as Demi, it would redirect there. But it is not, and since it only appears in one game, it does not appear in the general Black Magic category.

These aren't final decisions, and I may do some tinkering. I unfortunately cannot develop a formal policy until membership picks up, so the policies can be formed by a consensus of the members. Right now, only about five or six people are editing this, and that's not enough. Crazyswordsman 22:06, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Dances and Songs[edit source]

I'd say any dance or song should be merged into their appropriate head article. I have one made for dances, but not songs. Go ahead and make it. Be sure to put in FFV and FFT sections, though!

Also, as for status ailments, I have not decided what to do with those yet. I don't know if I want to create categories for each game, because most games have one, maybe two, unique status ailments. If weakening is recurring, you could merge it with Near Fatal if you'd like, or you could keep it. I'll leave that one up to you. It looks different to me, though, that's why I haven't touched it. The vandal that attacked this morning[edit source]

I don't think we should ban him just yet. I left him several warnings on his talk page. I was going to give him a second chance if he vandalized again, but after he left something threatening on my page, I decided that we should ban him next time he makes enough edits to make those who come here regularly to revert vandalism. I usually check recent changes. If he just vandalizes one page, I'll give him a warning. But if he vandalizes numerous pages again, I will ban him. Crazyswordsman 00:27, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and regarding if I like you or not, I like you fine. Just because we disagree on our favorite games/how this wiki should be layed out doesn't mean we shouldn't be friends :). I'm considering nominating you for Admin soon. We're going to need another one, methinks, as usership is starting to increase, as is vandalism. Crazyswordsman 00:31, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

ff3[edit source]

hey, i just looked at your user page and you said that youve played 3. im pretty sure that 3 hasnt come out in us yet, so i was just wondering if (a)you meant the us 3, which was really 5, (b) you live in japan, and (c) if you found a emulator for it on the computer, and if so, where? thanks -Xornok 22:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

The forum should work now.[edit source]

I realized I had to go and change some stuff. It should work now. Crazyswordsman 14:54, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Our goal should be for horizontal templates for the top and bottom of pages[edit source]

Or at least that's what I'd like, at least for directory templates. Crazyswordsman 00:33, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Darth Cow's reviews[edit source]

I saw your comment on his subpage. And that's what it is, a subpage, or pages designed to better organize a messy user page. Those are always allowed. You can make as many as you want if you want to. Crazyswordsman 00:14, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Have you seen my user page? Its a work of art! --TacticAngel 00:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Your userpage should go on display at the Guggenheim. Crazyswordsman 02:01, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to figure out how to block anons from editing.[edit source]

Honestly, you're right. All this reverting is making me sick. Crazyswordsman 01:12, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

I'll ask one of the Wikia heads. Crazyswordsman 23:48, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
In order to do this, I need to access the LocalSettings.php file and add some code to it. I have the code, but I don't know where the LocalSettings.php file is. Crazyswordsman 23:54, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Your Cactuar page[edit source]

Here it is. Crazyswordsman 00:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Authority? What authority?[edit source]

I'm just an admin. If anything I have the monkey on my back not you. It's my job to appease you and the other editors and to keep vandalism off. And even if I had authority, you wouldn't have trumped it. Crazyswordsman 00:15, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, yes he can.[edit source]

He's better than pretty boy Nomura. Nomura makes designs. Amano makes art. Maybe that's the reason Nomura only travels between Tokyo and LA while Amano travels the world? Crazyswordsman 13:12, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

You think prettyboys are better looking than tough guys? At least Amano puts battle scars on his characters. Amano's drawing of Cloud actually makes Cloud likeable, whereas Nomura's drawing makes Cloud look like he has ADD and is about to lose control of himself. Also, Cloud has spikey hair, which is a no-no for characters unless the character can be made to be really, really good, and so far the only spike character who has done that is Crono.
Also, don't bring FFXI into this because I'm too smart to spend 100 bucks on a game and then 10 bucks a month to play it. Crazyswordsman 02:22, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm nominating you to be an admin.[edit source]

Accept or decline on my talk page. As an admin, you get the power to delete and protect pages and to block users. I trust that you will use this power responsively. If you accept, send me a respons and I'll put up a voting for you. Crazyswordsman 16:58, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

... and to restore deleted pages, move category and protected pages, view history of deleted pages (among other nifty little things). But anywho, if you accept, you got my support, that's for sure. --Hecko X 17:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm just wondering, but you have noticed this topic... right? Just curious, since there hasn't been any official response from you yet. --Hecko X 20:15, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
If you don't respond by tomorrow I'll nominate someone else for the job. Crazyswordsman 21:44, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Go here to formally accept. Crazyswordsman 22:05, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

If you got nothing else to do...[edit source]

Then would you mind taking a look at this and try to fill out the red links? I'm asking you, because you seem to be the one around here with the most FFXI experience. But like I said, you don't have to do it, unless you don't have anything better to do. --Hecko X 21:31, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

I asked Saanse to admin you[edit source]

I don't know when she'll do it. But I will be gone for a few days while I move. I trust the Wiki will remain in good hands while I'm gone. Crazyswordsman 03:11, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

I've done it... after a little mistake you will see in the logs ;) You should read the Wikia:Help:Administrators' how-to guide, or ask Crazyswordsman or any of the Wikia community team if you need help (Wikia:Community support). Regards -- sannse (talk) 06:20, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Basically, as an admin, you have the duty to check Special:RecentChanges often and revert vandalism (all members technically should do both, but as an admin it's sort of like an obligaition). You also have the obligation to block vandals at your disgretion. Crazyswordsman 11:26, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

You Poor Soul[edit source]

I feel sorry for you having to revert all the vandalism of that "Critical Hit" member. And I wouldn't have just blocked him (even if the block was indefinite....), it definitely would have been an instant-ban.

I salute you for your patience! --Galador 17:48, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't that hard to do. He gloated that it would take hours, but it only took me 5 minutes. I spent some of that extra time looking for a "revert all" bot. --TacticAngel 21:37, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, I still say that you did quite a good job with it. --Galador 02:57, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much for all of your help[edit source]

You've done a great job while I was gone. Thanks! Let's work together to keep this Wiki alive! Crazyswordsman 18:36, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Great job![edit source]

I just thought I'd say great job on handling all that vandalism! Especially without CSM around...so I'm assuming that you found a revert all bot? I saw you mentioned looking for one, but you didn't say if you found one...you really should make sure CSM knows about it...previosly i think he said some of the major vandal attacks took him hours to fix...so, great job, thanks for keeping this wiki awesome! I'll be glad to help change stuff back anytime I'm on, all you need to to do is ask...

Sorry.[edit source]

I flunked grammar school because I'm hardcore. Crazyswordsman 20:24, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

you have a point.[edit source]

Still, you shold get around to playing I, III, and V sometime. I love I and V particularly. I mean, saying X-2 is one of your favorite games due to the job system is, well, the earlier ones did it right. FFX-2 butchered it in my opinion. I will admit that I enjoyed that part of X-2, although the rest of the aspects of the game forced me to put salt on my leg and gnaw it off. I can't even bother to look at it again. Crazyswordsman 19:05, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

About X-2 and FFV[edit source]

Yeah. The ATB system was really great in X-2. Too bad the game's story (or lack thereof), the slutty nature, and horrendous battle quotes made it unbearable. And FFV will be on GBA, not DS. FFIII WILL be on DS, and I can understand you not wanting to get that just yet. You should still get a DS when the price drops, though, as it has better games than the PSP. Crazyswordsman 03:53, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Here's what I suggest:[edit source]

I would suggest never to judge a game or a system by its graphics. The truth is the DS received much better reviews and sales than the PSP, since the PSP invested in all these special features and the DS invested in game quality. The New Super Mario Bros. looks like a great game to me, as does FFIII DS, and remember that the PSP will never have Zelda on it!

I won't be buyng ANY FFVII spinoff as you know until they at least release Chrono Break. DoC I heard got bad reviews, so I probably will avoid that regardless. Advent Children is the only one I'm remotely interested in, and I can see that online for free thanks to the magic of Google video. Crazyswordsman 14:41, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

The only reason why I bash FFVII so much[edit source]

I must say, before I do this, that FFVII is a really really great game. In fact, Barret and the Shinra plot is one of my favorites, if not my ACTUAL favorite, of any Final Fantasy. But it's because of all these spinoffs that I bash it. It saddens me that people buy these things just because they have FFVII on the label. Things like "it's nice to see our heroes again" really doesn't cut it in the Final Fantasy series, since each title should be completely unrelated to the one that came before it. One spinoff is fine. X-2 is fine (although it could have been done a lot better). Advent Children is fine. But when you make, like, ten spinoffs of FFVII while completely ignoring FFI-VI and IX, and more importantly, delaying FFXII and Seiken Densetsu 4, and most importantly, cancelling Chrono Break and not doing new stuff, you're overdoing it. Crazyswordsman 18:43, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

You're right about a real sequel to FFT as well. Crazyswordsman 23:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Image categorization[edit source]

Wouldn't it be better to keep it in singular form? So in stead of "Final Fantasy XI Enemies Images", we have "Final Fantasy XI Enemy Images". Something about having both "image" and the word before it in plural just sound wrong somehow. --Hecko X 03:15, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

As you know, I'm a stickler for not having navigation boxes on the side of the page.[edit source]

I'm fixing them so they fill the full width of the page. However, I need help with the Summons one, as that has an image on it. The image should be taken out. Can you help with that? Thanks. Crazyswordsman

Heh[edit source]

Good to see someone who cares about Final Fantasy XI. --Auron Kaizer 19:33, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Its a good game in terms of an MMO. Its definitely different, but it maintains the feel of Final Fantasy well. Its actually one of my favorite Final Fantasy worlds. I think they should have just called it Final Fantasy Online though, much like Tactics wasn't given a number. --TacticAngel 19:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
I forget...is it a monthly payment game? Might check it out, but monthly payment is against my moral values. Auron Kaizer
Yes, you pay! YOU PAY AND YOU LIKE IT! I don't think there's any question of morality behind it. Servers cost money to run. GMs and developers have to be paid. The game is frequently updated and constantly monitored. The money has to come from somewhere. --TacticAngel 09:54, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey.[edit source]

How've you been? Haven't seen you in awhile. Crazyswordsman 06:23, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Busy, generally. I have had some computer problems since the stonestorm on Dec 1st because I was installing something rather important and it fragged all of windows. Immortal Enemies, my graphic novel, has been killing me too. --TacticAngel 06:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
I'd love to read it. After I finish exams/FFXII (hopefully you're enjoying that as much as I am). Crazyswordsman 06:44, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Its kind of silly. Its based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The link to my webpage is at the bottom of my user page. --TacticAngel 06:51, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

FFTA Jobs[edit source]

I'd make them, but I'm no FFTA expert. I helped make the FFV and FFI and some of the FFX-2. Crazyswordsman 07:09, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Well they are already there, just in the main article for most if not all of the jobs in FFTA. --TacticAngel 07:13, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
