Your VIII Walkthrough Edit

Props, it's funny. Good luck with it, we can always use good-looking walkthroughs here. Are those jokes you make supposed to reference the Spoony One, or is it just coincidence? Drake Clawfang 18:02, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! The majority of it's just random musings I've had in my head whilst playing, but a few are refs to the Spoony One - we seem to have a pretty similar view on FFVIII. Paramina 18:31, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

What's up, glad you could join! your walkthrough is pretty cool, so keep at it! User:Rarikou/Sig.

Talk Bubble Edit

Sorry, I missed your message about it before. To start, go here: Template:Drake. Copy all the coding from that page into Template:ParaminaTalk, and alter the color, sig, image, etc fields as you wish. Then you can use the talk bubble by typing the following:

{{ParaminaTalk|time=~~~~~|text=Whatever you wanna say}}

If you need any help feel free to ask, I'll reply more promptly this time. ^_^ Drake Clawfang 02:30, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

FF8 Walkthrough Edit

I saw, congratulations. You can add the walkthrough to the section template yourself since it's finished. Reporting it on the news, you can do that yourself, just follow the proper formatting for so and add it to the news box. Drake Clawfang 23:26, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

BTW, as an ironic twist of fate, I'm slowly taking over and reworking Squallinoa's walkthrough. So bit by bit it's going from Fanboy to Rantboy, lol. Drake Clawfang 01:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

XII Edit

Sure, no problem, I'd be honored! It'll be a bit slow going, because I plan to list each License's effect, as well as note each character's licenses and such and such. Ergo, I have to make a lot of diagrams, but it'll be very comprehensive once it's done. Feel free to link to it. ^_^ Drake Clawfang 21:01, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Done the first major part, what do you think? Drake Clawfang 01:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! That's my ultimate goal - to provide pretty much everything someone could want or need to know about the board's workings. Drake Clawfang 17:05, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm also looking forward to creating Job Classes. I've got 12, 6 attacker classes and 6 mage classes - Knight, Thief/Ninja, Monk, Paladin, Dark Knight, Dragoon, Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage, Chemist, Machinist, and Summoner. Drake Clawfang 17:12, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

You know what? Read the walkthrough. It's in there under one of the Sidequesting parts. - Paramina 10:18, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

About the Negalmuur auto-leveling thing; should there be any indication that a player has to get past a certain part of the story (In this case, the Laboratory) to be able to buy the Gambits needed, or is there a chance that players can find them in chests throughout the game? I spent like 3 hours searching shops and crap trying to find it. xD -Anonymous procrastinator.

Hello Paramina! Edit

I was reading your walk through for Final Fantasy XII, and I must say, good job! You put in a lot of effort to actually do all that work. Your walk through comes in handy at times, but that's only for the hunts. The reason being, I already beat the game, and I wish your walk through would have been there to save me at tough times. Oh well. Well, as I read on your page there are more walk throughs to come, and I'm gladly awaiting them. Best of Luck!

ff12: sidequesting part 1 Edit

First i want to say priceless walkthrough it has been invaluable to my journey. now, i have decided to undertake the task of removing the gaurds from their post via chocobo as you have detailed in sidequest part 1 however i attempted this whilst on break leveling just before entering the tomb of raithwall, i can't seem to find that july chick anywhere or be able talk to the guards except for when they tell me to turn back, i purchased a chocobo anyway and tried to frighten them but it didn't work and i have yet to reach the highwaste.. have i gone too far for this?

FFTA2-Chaos

where is the girl spy supposed to be hanging out? also i have no option to speak with the guards, and is it a problem that this is not my first time coming to the fortress?

FFTA2-Chaos

ok there's a discrepancy with when this can take place, apparently it can only happen after the tomb of raithwall is completed.

Another question, Paramina, nothing big but why no mention of the Earth Tyrant? Drake Clawfang 12:46, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Because I could never find that guy in Lowtown for some reason. I guess I just gave up! I might add it eventually though. Paramina 13:25, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

FF8 Edit

The Spoony One seems to have gotten tired with his review and just wrapped the whole thing up in one last half-hour video. Still fucking hilarious, if you wanna see. Drake Clawfang 16:40, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

BTW, apparently Spoony loves DoomTrain, "he's like a satanic Thomas the Tank Engine". Who knew? Drake Clawfang 16:51, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the link, I'd almost forgotten about Spoony's reviews. It's a shame he's decided to end it so soon but you're right, it's hilarious! Hitting VIII right on the head, methinks. Thanks again! - Paramina 16:17, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

I know you won't get it until you come back, but I wanna leave this before I forget. The last part has audio commentary explaining why he ended the review this way - he's moving and getting a new camera, and he needed an excuse to get rid of the old room. Also, thanks to all the footage and effects, this was apparently one of his most difficult shoots.
Also, the commentary is just as funny itself. It talks about how he spliced together the ending as a sort of send-off/apology to the fF8 fans for "punching them in the balls", and notes the irony of him calling people who likes Eyes on Me pussies, and then basically ending the review with an Eyes on Me tribute vid of the cast. Thank You Edit

Thanks for the FFXII walkthrough. finding my way through/out of the crystal and getting that esper was paiinful until i found your contribution. It was a pleasant shock to find out that you're attractive; i guess i agree with everyone else: YOU play FF?

patient in the desert/barheim key/deathbringer sidequest Edit

after you have given the valeblossom dew to the dantro's wife all you need to do is exit the village and then come right back and talk to her and the bangaa will be all better and ready to talk to you to give you the barheim passage key, where you can go to steal the deathbringer from the ithuno chest (as many times as you want). also at this time you can choose to take the cockatrice across to the north bank and as a reward get a koga or iga blade, i cant remember which.

Great Serpentskin Edit

Hey Paramina

Playing FF XII, I defeated the Nidhogg hunt awhile back...and being a total idiot (before I read any info on it), I sold the Great Serpentskin. You stated in your walkthrough that there's another way to get one. I was wanting to know what that way is (no matter how irritating) because I think I need that to get the Barheim Key, correct?

Thank you 70.244.98.198 02:10, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Hello! Well, I know for a fact there isn't another way to obtain the Great Serpentskin - I don't think I explicitly said there was another attainable, just there was another way around this problem. You can still obtain the Barheim Key without it. You see, the Patient in the Desert sidequest ends in a sort of "prize package", if you like, the Barheim Key plus other items depending on what you've given Dantro's Wife. Even if you don't have the Serpentskin, you'll still obtain the Barheim Key, it's just the other items you receive are less valuable. So don't worry! To summarize: the key is still yours! - Paramina 13:59, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
Wouldn't it be awesome if Square could put some sign not to sell certain loot SOMEWHERE in game.--Xepscern 10:22, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

ffxii walkthrough Edit

Work Edit

If you have Dissidia and need work, there is something you could do. We need new vids for the EX Burst sections, as not all of them are uniform. We need the vids with the following:

The EX Burst ends the battle
The normal costumes are used
The burst is used against the character's counterpart on their home stage
And, the burst shows the interface so it's shown how the Burst is inputted.

I don't think it would be difficult, it would just take a bit of time. If you have Dissidia, you could give it a shot. Drake Clawfang 01:14, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XII Edit

I've been trying to get this cursed Grimy Fragment so I can fight the Esper Chaos. I've already gotten the Dull Fragment, and I've been using your walk-through. Anyways, after I talk to Roh'kenmou then Filo, I go to try to talk to the "Curious Woman," but she isn't anywhere to find in the Lowtown. I talked to her once accidentally (I don't remember what she talked about then) and I was wondering if I screwed myself talking to her so early. I've gone to the Bazaar in hopes I wouldn't need her but nobody is talking about a necklace same as the guard in the magick shop. So do you know what I need to do? Or have a seriously messed up?

Sorry for the delayed response, I've been so busy lately! Anyway, I'm not sure how to solve your problem - I had a similar issue with the Earth Tyrant sidequest where an NPC just... wasn't there. I'm pretty sure she should be in the Southern Plaza, if not, check back with Filo (I recall someone on Gamespot forums suggesting this to someone who had the same problem). But yeah, she should be by the fountain, just double check with Filo, and remember what order to talk to everyone:
  • Roh'Kenmou
  • Filo
  • Curious Woman
  • Merchant
  • Sotted Imperial
  • Filo
  • Yuri's
I hope this helps, again, sorry about the delay. Good luck! - Paramina 21:56, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

FF8 Edit

Just a heads up, though a bit late, my FF8 walkthrough is done, if you wanna have a look. ;) Drake Clawfang 22:06, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

Ah, yeah, I saw you'd finished and gave it a read-through. Awesome as always, Drake. Got any other walkthroughs lined up (thinking of taking a crack at XIII?)? I think I might re-write/fine tune my VIII walkthrough now I'm better with coding and what have you, it looks pretty rough compared to my XII one. - Paramina 22:04, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
None lined up yet, though if I get Dissidia for Christmas I'll probably do one for that. Drake Clawfang 22:12, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
It's funny too because I keep re-reading it myself and sprucing it up. My favorite is the "illusion of choice" comments because that's all any FF game ever gave, it doesn't matter what you say the game will proceed exactly the same way. And FF8 has so many points where you pick a reply to someone, I have lots of chances to point this out. Drake Clawfang 22:16, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
