Dissidia stuff

An advice

Thanks for working on the Dissidia 2015 stages article! One thing you need to do though, is to categorise and license the images you upload onto the wiki. Every article, and every template, and every file, and every etymology, etc (everything!) needs to be in a category for organisation's sake, plus it helps search engines find it, and everything. I have categorised many of the images you have uploaded so far, but the one who uploads them is supposed to do it.

Check the history of this file to see how I categorised it: File:DFF2015 Besaid Island Webphoto 3.jpg and just do the same thing to any image you upload. (Click the arrow next to the Edit button to find History.) You can view the location images category here: Category:Dissidia Final Fantasy (2015) location images and the screenshots here: Category:Dissidia Final Fantasy (2015) Screenshots. You can see the category at the bottom of every page, and this is also where you can add categories. In the edit screen, the categories section is on the right below the Publish options. The categories listed at the bottom of everything on the wiki are links so you can click on them. And all categories belong to other categories, like Dissidia Final Fantasy (2015) location images is in Dissidia Final Fantasy (2015) images category, and in the Location images category, and Dissidia Final Fantasy (2015) images category is in the Final Fantasy series images by game category, and so on.

The license templates you may need: {{Screenshot|<name of the game>}} gives the image the Screenshot license and also automatically categorises it to the <game name> Screenshots category.

{{SECopyright}} is the general "copyright to Square Enix" license. Use for artwork, icons, CG models, whatever that is of the game but not a screenshot.

{{Promotional}} you can use for promotional images, like adverts. I use it for key art or anything SE would release to market the game.

There are others and you should see them in the drop down menu in the upload screen, but those are the most common. There's one for logos, album covers, book covers, etc.

Trank you for welcome me! I'm sorry for the mess, I come from the Dragon Quest wiki where you can categorize and license right after selection the image you want to upload and since I'm not used to the method of this wiki, uploading an image makes me more confused. But don't worry, I'll follow your advice!
Thank you again for everything :'D OneEco (talk) 18:53, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
Well that system sounds like it might be better for new users. No one ever knows how to do it here!
Looks like some of the images were already on the wiki that you uploaded though, like here and here.
PNG format images would be preferred over JPG because PNG is lossless and can be transparent.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:33, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
Oh! I didn't know that. However the photos I have are the originals released by Square in the official website. I should convert them to PNG and update them? OneEco (talk) 19:49, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
If you wanted to that would be great. It's not like a hard rule or anything though. Thanks for adding so much new stuff for the Dissidia arcade game! Do you know if it has been announced for PS4? Someone added that as platform for that but I don't know where that is from (not following this game at all).Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:03, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I can do that, I also wanted to update Alexandria's map to show where the Summon Cores can appear. And it's normal I would update it, there was s much information that the wiki didn't have and that I know of the game... After finishing with the stages I want to create a page for the "Battle of the Gods" mode.
And no, it is confirmed that it will launch in consoles, however the person of Square that said it did not reveal for which consoles. It's true that the Arcade uses a modified PS4 engine, but that does not mean that it could launch only for it. At this point either the Nintendo Switch or the Xbox One could receive it.
OneEco (talk) 20:19, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
Good info, thanks. Better wait when it is official then.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 21:47, February 16, 2017 (UTC)

Altima, the Nice Body

I'm so sorry, Xenomic. All the tracks that we have received until now were uploaded by Ishimoto himself (including Death Game from Lightning Returns, that he uploaded by accident). It's kinda impossible to obtain the raw tracks directly from the game because it's an arcade machine. HOWEVER, you can hear it (but the sound is kinda dirty) in yesterday's stream because "Altima, the Nice Body" was used while they were showing the new player icons. --OneEco (talk) 09:09, April 19, 2017 (UTC)

Stellar Fulcrum

Hello I just wanted to ask you how do you know that stage has been released as I have been following the game myself and I just noticed today at Siliconera that Golbez was revealed today so when was that stage revealed and can you provide me a link please as I can't find it. The Golbez release is posted there on that link just so you can find out. --Enchanted Iris (talk) 14:32, November 7, 2017 (UTC)

Of course! Here's the link to the reveal video: -- Eco (talk) 14:35, November 7, 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for showing me the link Eco I really liked the stage.--Enchanted Iris (talk) 14:51, November 7, 2017 (UTC)

Materia and Spiritus' backstories

Hello Eco. Please to make your acquaintance. I noticed you added the backstories for Materia and Spiritus. However, I was looking through the character pages you linked from the TFFAC character profile page and I was unable to backtrack some of the information you wrote. For instance, I was not able to find any information pertaining to Chaos's soul surviving the events of the PSP Dissidia on Spiritus' profile.

From Spiritus' character page alone, this is what I found:

カオスの意思から生まれた男神。 ディシディアの世界を守り、発展させるために生まれた『魔法の力』を司る。 同じ使命を持つマーテリアから、何かとライバル視され、対立している

And this would be my translation of the text above:

A god born from Chaos's lingering intentions. He controls the "power of magic" in order to protect the world of Dissidia. He comes into conflict with Materia, who is his rival with a similar mission.

Would there happen to be another source this background information was drawn from? If so, I can list them under the references. Thank you. Mikami Teru (talk) 11:45, January 16, 2018 (UTC)

Nice to meet you too!
Huh? That's odd, I found their character backstories thanks to the Dissidia reddit, the user who linked their pages from the TFFASC character profile page basically did all the explaining, I merely copied, pasted and corrected typos and stuff like that. I know little about japanese but even then I could understand Materia's text and it matched with what this user resumed on the post, since I was a little doubtful back then. However when I saw that Materia's, roughly, translated backstory and the one in the TFFASC page matched I also thought that Spiritus' also matched.
I've just looked the page for myself, and you are right, it DOES NOT say anything about Chaos' soul. So this is all my fault, I should have checked Spiritus' backstory in the TFFASC page too back then. In fact, I don't know why I haven't done it before (that's not quite true, I have a lot of work to do on translating stuff from Dissidia Opera Omnia, something I'm still doing).
Thanks for pointing this out! -- Eco (talk) 12:52, January 16, 2018 (UTC)
Apologies for the late reply. Not a problem at all. Would you happen to have the link to that reddit page? Perhaps I could cross-check the information on Spiritus and Materia using my limited understanding of Japanese and Google Translate. Thank you in advance.Mikami Teru (talk) 22:17, January 21, 2018 (UTC)

Locke's Main Gauche

The problem about Locke and Rinoa's first weapon is that the official images aren't in the Sanctuarium like with the rest of their weapons. So, unless Square decides to release the official render we'll have to crop those screenshots from the streams.
Also, splitting all the Weapon Arsenals is on my list of to-do things, I'll have them ready this week or next week.
Finally, yes, I play GL FFBE x'D -- Eco (talk) 23:39, July 29, 2018 (UTC)
Huh, didn't know that the Arcade Wiki has been adding images in their lists. I'll take it from them, then.
The anniversary was better than the last one, that's for sure. In this last month I've obtained more than 10 5* units: 1x Ace, 1x Awakened Rain, 1x Ayaka, 1x Beatrix, 1x Eiko, 2x Fayt, 1x Jiraiya, 1x Knight Delita, 1x Lila, 1x CG Fina, 1x Marie, 2x Prompto, 1x Rena, 1x Roy, 1x Sephiroth, 1x Veritas of the Dark and 1x Veritas of the Light. A total of 19 5*. This far better than last year's anniversary. Where I got 7 5*s x'D -- Eco (talk) 16:43, July 30, 2018 (UTC)

Brave Exvius stuff

Thanks for working on Exvius content for the wiki. :) Much appreciated.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 10:21, March 6, 2017 (UTC)

Don't worry about that, after all it's the game that I play daily! There is a lot of info that I know and is not in the wiki (just like with Dissidia Arcade) Of course, I'll help to make this wiki more full of information!! --OneEco (talk) 14:51, March 6, 2017 (UTC)

I, too, wanted to give you a shout out for all the work that you've been doing with Brave Exvius. Lord knows when I would've gotten to that. Much obliged, sir! Swordzmanp236 (talk) 19:25, March 10, 2017 (UTC)

I appreciate your work on Brave Exvius stuff, but few points I'd like to point out, mainly regarding the event pages:

  • Full italized game titles in the infobox, games that don't have articles on the Wiki should have a link to the appropiate Wikia dedicated to them.
  • Event intro images are way too long and the info contained there can be easily, and should be, put in the text form within the appropiate articles; the image is simply a condensed information for FFBE's comfort.

Please keep up the good work.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 21:19, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

Of course, the event pages I'm creating right now are going to be blank a few days, since I'm in the "exam season" and I can't take care of them properly. However, this weekend I should be able to start working with them. Also, regarding that "games that don't have articles on the Wiki should have a link to the appropiate Wikia dedicated to them", so... articles for Brave Frontier, Secret of Mana, Romancing SaGa, Nier:Automata, etc? Sure, I can do that!
Thanks for the advices :'D -- OneEco (talk) 21:31, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

Floating Continent

FFBE Behemoth K field sprite.png
Yeah, that's the final location of Lapis, am I right? Right after, Crystal Land... Well, for now we should call the event as "The Floating Continent (Brave Exvius)" until we know the official localized name of the location. Since we are receiving half of a continent each month and we still need to visit Gronoa, Falm/Pharm and Crystal Land before reaching the Floating Continent, so that's 6/7 months until then. --OneEco (talk) 23:08, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

You did not categorise and licence the images you uploaded about FFXV characters in Brave Exvius. That's something you should always do.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:50, June 22, 2017 (UTC)

WTF, I didn't categorise them? I thought I did... Oh, I put the deletion tag into the ones that I couldn't move. Sorry, my own confusion was the problem here. That's a shame though, I've finally get used to the system here to categorise the images x'D
Sorry again, thanks for the advice and thanks for the hard work :'D --OneEco (talk) 22:24, June 22, 2017 (UTC)
It's cool if it wasn't intentional. If images don't get tagged right away they tend to just be forgotten. Good work with the Brave Exvius and elsewhere still. :) Thanks for continuing to contribute to the wiki!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:40, June 22, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I've seen examples of images with the "forgotten" status on. It's a good thing that we, as a community, can mend the errors of our companions. And, please, there is no need to thank me about that. As long as the games I love are still getting updates or receive games related to them I will help with the Wiki! --OneEco (talk) 00:18, June 23, 2017 (UTC)

Opera Omnia

Okay, I'll try asking them about it in the morning! Thank you for answering me!
About the equipment: sure, that was within my plans, though there will be some of them (the event exclusive ones) that are kinda inaccessible for me right now due to level restrictions. I'm taking pics from everything (except the abilities, since I want to max up the characters before doing that)!
About the in-game models, I'm sorry, I don't even know how to datamine this game since I don't have the knowledge to do it x'D (maybe one day)

Thanks again! --OneEco (talk) 01:08, July 27, 2017 (UTC)
The only thing left... are the summons, I believe (I'm taking pics from them too just in case). --OneEco (talk) 01:47, July 27, 2017 (UTC)

The Noctis leak was deconfirmed as everything on the Amazon leak was confirmed to be false information. The current Amazon article source listed nothing about Noctis as well so he cannot be listed as part of the roster with that source. If you have an actual source stating Noctis will be in the game with proof then feel free to use it.

Square Enix has also confirmed that Final Fantasy XV’s very own Noctis Lucis Caleum will be making his debut to the game as a playable character and combatant to save the world of Dissidia.

Here's the source

Continue uploading FFBE units pics

Hey you, I think you need to continue uploading FFBE units pics. Please, You can't give up. Nadiya2000 (talk) 07:48, January 1, 2018 (UTC)

Hey me! Just kidding! I left the "FFBE team" of this wiki because there were a lot of people updating the info of the game at the time. And so, I centered on Opera Omnia's, but it's true that, lately due to NT's launch, that list in particular has been, erm... how to say it, abandoned. I'll stay apart one more week of the FFBE's content to see if someone uploads the info, if not, I'll do it myself. -- Eco (talk) 16:43, January 1, 2018 (UTC)

I could see what I can find, but I can't promise anything, that collab in SO anamnesis is pretty much done. I'll check Altema, though. It's the best place to look for info about JP gacha games. -- Eco (talk) 10:31, January 11, 2018 (UTC)

RE: Kingdom Hearts help

(Copied from my personal talk, just in case.)

Much obliged, Eco. Looks like we need summaries of activity since KHII (prequels, sequels, offshoots, &c.). Couple of PS4 remakes hit the streets as well, but we just need to bring it current. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 23:22, February 25, 2018 (UTC)

Re: incorrect fact

Hi. You asked for some proofs. In return, I also ask you to show me something proving the fact is, indeed, a fact. In the meantime, here are two sources stating otherwise:
The former also directly links to the original Japanese article containing the cited interivew, just in case you feel these are on their own inadequate sources. QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 19:09, May 15, 2018 (UTC)

Here's a source.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:11, May 15, 2018 (UTC)
That interview says that Sakaguchi's feeling was that it may have been his final game, and it makes no mention of Square's financial situation beyond stating that producing so many copies of the game was considered a risk. It does not say the company was at risk of bankruptcy. QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 19:29, May 15, 2018 (UTC)
That's what the DidYouKnow fact now says also. Square being in dire straits in its early years is not really controversial to say though.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:54, May 15, 2018 (UTC)
No one would say it's a stretch to say they weren't wealthy. Certainly nowhere near the powerhouse they became after FF. But I have yet to see anything beyond urban legend that indicates Square was in financial danger or that FF was made as a last resort, and speculation without evidence to back that claim is not justification for including something as a Did You Know? fact on the wiki. QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 20:02, May 15, 2018 (UTC)

Hey, I am the main administrator over at the Dissidia Wiki ( I've come to notice that you've put in a lot of information related to Dissidia NT and OO. I am requesting that you make edits related to these two games (but even more in-depth that over here at the FF Wiki) on the Dissidia Wiki. If you accept this, I'll start you off by making you a content moderator. -RubyStretch

Marking for deletion

Can you please add a reason for deletion when using deletion templates? For instance {{SD|page is no longer necessary}}. However, if your reason is that the images are duplicated, add {{dup}} instead of {{delete}}.--Magicite-ffvi-ios.png Technobliterator TC 00:39, May 28, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, okay! In fact, thank you, because most of all my deletion issues are because of duplicated images. -- Eco (talk) 00:49, May 28, 2018 (UTC)

RE:sideicon behavior

I'm noticing it too. Part of it stems from a rendering bug in Chrome, Edge, and Safari that jams sideicons into bulleted text. The other piece would be that the sideicon script uses obsolete code needs fixing. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 07:36, June 26, 2018 (UTC)

Sorry Xenomic, there hasn't been any brand new character since July, when Mog from VI was included into the game.
About Exvius, actually both. I've been playing GL since almost the beginning and every single day, and I got myself in JP quite recently. -- Eco (talk) 20:28, November 21, 2018 (UTC)
Nah, I'm on an slow pace. Well, "slow". Somehow I got TONS of rainbows during the anniversary so I have some 7*-to-be prepared if things start to get tough (but not enough gil) x'D -- Eco (talk) 20:40, November 21, 2018 (UTC)

TFF images

Hey, a few of the TFF-related images you uploaded are in Special:UnusedImages (and are not licensed/categorized either). Is there a chance you can fix this? Thanks!--Magicite-ffvi-ios.png Technobliterator TC 00:28, December 5, 2018 (UTC)

I've seen what you've mentioned, but those images were supposedly deleted when I changed the Song list a few weeks ago. So I don't really know why they are there (because each time I click on them, I got a warning the the page doesn't exist anymore) nor how to make them disappear for good... -- Eco (talk) 09:46, December 5, 2018 (UTC)
Ah ok. I can just properly delete them then.--Magicite-ffvi-ios.png Technobliterator TC 13:55, December 5, 2018 (UTC)
