Dissidia Images[]

Thanks very much for uploading those! Drake Clawfang 08:25, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

No problem. Though I don't have similar images of Chaos and Shantatto or manikan versions of Shantatto or Gabranth. Netherith 08:27, September 11, 2009 (UTC)
Well, we already have one of Chaos I think, and we have one of Gabranth, it just has a background that needs Photoshopping. Shantotto, it's the internet, I'm sure it's kicking around out there somewhere. Drake Clawfang 08:35, September 11, 2009 (UTC)
Can't find crystal Gabranth or Chaos battle sprite. Are you sure we have them?Netherith 09:38, September 11, 2009 (UTC)
Oh, Gabranth's crystal mode, no. But his normal model is on his boss page, and Chaos' model is on his page. Drake Clawfang 09:43, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Found them. Should all be up before I turn in tonight. Oh, and my holidays are almost over so I'll be going back to minimal editing again. Netherith 09:59, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Could you use the move file method to rename the artwork images from FFX you're uploading, please? Or just upload them again with more descriptive names. Thanks! 8bit 03:33, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

You obviously know what the artwork images describe better than I, so I suppose I'll just wait for you to match the file to the job page and then change the name to sufficiently refer to the job and FFX-2 after that. Of course, that means your original link will be broken. 8bit 04:42, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
I'll fix the links as you rename them. No problem. Netherith 04:45, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Any user can give tests, any user can revoke them except the user that gets them but they can appeal. Not that tests actually matter since they only stack if you repeat an offense. A test shouldn't have really been given here since it has nothing to do with vandalism. The test system is silly since people use it any case, even though the template only says vandalism.

Basically, what I think he's saying is license your images so other people don't have to waste their time catching up on your uploads. 00:47, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

So, would the FF13 gunblade images fall under Official Art due to what they are based off of or Fanart due to how they are photoshopped? Netherith 00:51, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Not a testable offence. Netherith, please remember to license your images and read the copyright thread if you're unsure (for this, it's the fanart licence of your choice). Tenza, keep it civil. — YuanSalve!Acta 00:53, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

First of all, you don't know me that much to know if the people around here care for my opinion or not (Trust me, they don't). Second, I asked you like three times to add the Licenses and you didn't even bother to answer me, nothing like "Sorry, I forgot" or "Okay, I'm on it", no, you just ignore it but when Yuan or Faeth came to tell you, you start to do it, a total proof that you didn't care for what I had to say. Third, I hate add Licenses too but I can't do anything about it. Four, the Test thing, what other thing could I do? and the final thing: Bite me, like I said before, no one cares for what I say so who cares if I insult? You don't even for what I'm saying right now. Just follow the rules, that's all I'm asking you.

Hi! i'm a new user, well i don't know how to get a Weirding glyph.. Could ya tell me? I have a spanish version, so I do not know what that means :(

What game is this? Netherith 03:28, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XIII :)

The Glyph can be found as a treasure in Ch 13: Orphan's Cradle (The Tesseracts) Netherith 03:34, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Well, I've found this: , as you can see, Vanille's equiped with a glyph, oowww i'm so confused x(

While the other two Warrior (Final Fantasy X-2) Dresspheres closely resemble Paine's default gear, and the strap motif is part of both Barthello and to a lesser extent, Dona's garments, I will concede that it might be notable that the strap motif, and dressing almost entirely in black, is rare in Spira. However, I think it more likely that the extent to which Paine dresses differently and to what extent this is notable is merely a misconception on your part. Only Wakka and Kimahri dress like other residents of Spira. Even the more conservative garments of the first game: Yuna's hanging sleeves, Rikku's sleeveless shirt, and Auron's gorget-neck full length garment are neither worn by anyone else in Spira, nor thought of as notable of being mentioned on their respective pages. Tidus' clothes are from another time, and possibly an artifact of the Fayth's mind in any case, but are not mentioned on his page (he does not even have an Appearance section). This, together with the use of the word "outlandish" on Lulu's page, points clearly to preconceived points of view biasing the text.

None of which explains why the note about the dresspheres was removed, nor why the edit was not summarized. VvAnarchangelvV 02:34, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, first off I don't write my conceptions. What I write depends on the conceptions of the majority, my personal conceptions bare little weight.
Second, this conversation should be on the page's talk page. This isn't a personal issue but a note on public perseption and the descision to keep said note should be discussed by the majority of users, not simply between you and me.
Third, I removed the subtag because the girl's original looks were designed first, than they were turned into dresspheres. Not the other way round like you seem to be suggesting in the text. Overall, the tag is not required as we already have a Dressphere section further down the page.
Fourth, Yuna's clothing style belongs to Yu Yevon, Rikku's to the Al Bhed, Auron's to the Monks (which are not shown in the game but are mentioned) Lulu and Paine have no such background, that is why they are considered unique in that they have no illustrated origin.
Anything else? Netherith 02:48, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Need an Outsider's Opinion[]

There is an ongoing discussion on the Talk:action encounter page as to the significance of the difference between action encounters and fixed encounters. All the arguments can be viewed on the first page, and though the debate has carried on for over a day now, I have noticed a lack of momentum, and thus thought it would be time to introduce a neutral third party to end the debate once and for all.

If you have the time, and no other has done so thus far, can you please review the debate and make a decision, as we both seem incapable of doing so at this point.

Also, in a rather unrelated matter (but I fear it will result in a similar stalemate as it is between and same person and I), could you please clarify if Garnet or Dagger is the appropriate title for Princess Garnet of Final Fantasy IX, in the context of a page such as Garland (Final Fantasy IX Boss).

I thank you for your time, and apologize for being unable to resolve this matter between yourselves. Likeacupcake 13:19, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

This message is to inform you that you're assistance is no longer needed, as a decision had been reached. I thank you for your time. Likeacupcake 15:09, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Image Deleting[]

Serous man, why you asking all this images to be delete there no reason too. All it doing is putting more work on the admins and flooding the RC. They don't all need to be delete. NeoZEROX 22:26, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

They do not need to be kept, either. All that they're doing is taking up band width for the wikia. Also within these images are doubles, poor copies and fanart which we do not need. I'm also not deleting them all, some images I'm allocating to relevant pages.
Also, I did put up a request to be given the ability to delete for this job but they didn't give it. So whatever "hardships" they receive from this work is their own doing. Netherith 22:30, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
Some of the files you have tagged as "fanart" though, are not as such. They are the original work of the users who uploaded them, specifically, most of NA's stuff that you've tagged. I think you should at least ask their permission first, to see if they want to keep it. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 22:36, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
Considering we would be losing hundreds, possibly thousands of images overnight with little warning or explanation, not giving you deletion rights was a wise decision. DoreikuKuroofangu - Visit the Soul Shrine! 22:37, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
Well I understand if they're doubles and poor copies but the fanart like Nelo's art aren't really fanart they more like user images they are characters from wiki Fanfics characters and some we ask him to drew for us. NeoZEROX 22:38, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
You were notified of these actions a month in advance and if people wanted to keep their artworks they should have stored them on pages. There are about two pages currently devoted for fanart, not including userpages. Netherith 22:41, December 6, 2010 (UTC)
If there was a community discussion on this I'd like the link to it, however if this is another one-man-mission of yours, I'd recommend against it without the opinions of others. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 22:46, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry but I'm going to continue doing my job and do admin work on the wiki. I don't need to discuss that with a commitee, especially considering you people seem to freely go about your own pointless endeavours without retort. Netherith 22:52, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

Logo Derivation[]

Hello! Is it acceptable to make derivative works from the logos you posted in the forum? I know you released them under CC-BY-SA but one still ought to ask, I think! Thanks and well done. BlueGoobbue 03:02, December 10, 2010 (UTC)

Since you know a lot about FF8, two questions - first, is there any boss that can be Carded, and second, is there any boss that can be Devoured? I assume now but I just want to be sure. DoreikuKuroofangu 21:04, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

You can Devour Rinoa (Boss), but that's like a joke left in by the developers (don't do it!).Keltainentoukokuu 22:32, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

"you keep saying that and I keep proving you wrong, hm" - no, you don't. That Dissidia subpage is a pathetic skeleton of a page and unwarranted. You've obviously lost sight of the reason the Dissidia subpages exist in the first place. I've come to expect this from our noob and inexperienced users, but not from staff. Really. DoreikuKuroofangu 23:56, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

Honestly, would I be able to make a page if there wasn't information for it. If anything history has shown I am able to make full pages out of things you have deemed in lacking information. The main reason it lacks information is that you do not allow it to grow beyond your own limited perspective.

You wouldn't expect such actions from staff because the staff usually just sit on their backsides and do minor edits instead of page creation. I'm the staff who gets things moving, wether you want them to move or not. Netherith 00:02, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

"If anything history has shown I am able to make full pages out of things you have deemed in lacking information." - Refresh my memory.
"would I be able to make a page if there wasn't information for it." - So? Just because there's information doesn't mean it needs a page. I could make a page called Zidane's Tail and put stuff on it but it would be a ridiculous page to make.
"The main reason it lacks information is that you do not allow it to grow beyond your own limited perspective." - Ah, excuse me? It lacks information because there is no information. Where is Aerith's Dissidia art? Where are the allusions in 012 to FF7 in terms of her? Where is her storyline section? What levels does she learn her attacks?
"You wouldn't expect such actions from staff because the staff usually just sit on their backsides and do minor edits instead of page creation." - Ego much? DoreikuKuroofangu 00:05, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
Considering I'm not the one blocking other people from doing their work due to inflated opinions on what is and what isn't, I'd say I'm not the one with ego problems. And stop blocking my edits. Netherith 00:11, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
"Considering I'm not the one blocking other people from doing their work due to inflated opinions on what is and what isn't, I'd say I'm not the one with ego problems." - Pathetic attempt at an excuse. If the page isn't done yet, you shouldn't have saved it, and if you wanted to work on it a bit at a time, that's what sandboxes are for. DoreikuKuroofangu 00:13, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
Not an excuse, Drake, an observation on your behaviour. And none of these pages are "done yet". We actually have fairly few completed pages where characters are concerned due to the ever reveal of new info. Netherith 00:18, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Nibelheim Incident[]

Why do you use the "<br>" tags like that so much? DoreikuKuroofangu 03:13, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

No space between paragraphs if I use "<br>". I only want a new line, not a new paragraph that would occur if I used double enter. Netherith 03:15, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
But, why start a new line at all? DoreikuKuroofangu 03:16, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
To signify a new line of thought. For instance, for a subject that occured across multiple days, in the next day a new line will be needed to allow the reader to better gather and discern the information between the first day and second day and third day, etc. If it was a new subject or event a new paragraph would be used instead of a new line. Netherith 03:20, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
I don't understand, but alright. Thanks for explaining. DoreikuKuroofangu 03:21, April 6, 2011 (UTC)
Let's see....In terms of the article. The first paragraph is about their intro into the town, which stretches across two days so a new line is used to define the events between the days. Than a new paragraph is created which covers the reactor inspection where, instead of being cut between days, is cut in accordance to events that occured within the subject (monster inspection, Genesis appearance, Sephiroth locking himself away).

Next is the razing of the town, then the reactor battle, then the reprecussions after the event. All of which follow pretty much the same rule. Again, its to help the ready better process the info. Like eating a sandwich it gives them a break to chew on the info instead of consuming it all in one go and not tasting it. Netherith 03:27, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

My only...issues, for lack of a better word, is that I've never seen any other editor edit this way, and can't recall seeing this type of formatting in any of the books I've ever read so it's completely new to me. But it's alright, don't worry about it, continue with your work, I won't question you. DoreikuKuroofangu 03:30, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

Before Crisis portraits?[]

I was just wondering, but where did you get all those character portraits for Before Crisis? I watched a walkthrough on YouTube, and I didn't see the majority of the ones you just uploaded.

Did you buy an Ultimania for it or something, and uploaded ones that weren't used in the game?

Please be well,

P.S. Either way, I appreciate you uploading the one of younger Elfé. I actual need that for a reference for a project of mine in the future.

Though, in the version I saw, some of the characters didn't have portraits, like Chelsea and Deneh, and they only appeared in one chapter.

Ugh. This game really needs to get ported to the PSP, or something.

Please be well,

Hi Netherith. I've got the books of the Compilation in general, and most of those new portraits are fanart (like Bugenhagen, Zangan, Lucrecia, Shera, Azul, Tifa's Cat, Deneh, etc). Could you please label them as 'fanart' in the articles as well? I've tried, but I'm not familiar with the rules and the changes were undone... Fanart? Damn. Most of those were real nice too, I rather liked them. Perfectly matched the portraits that existed in the game.

...and you think that because it is not the Void it doesn't deserve information on it? Netherith 13:51, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
Yes. It isn't even a location. It's just some random visual, presumably part of Squall's mind or Time Compression. ~~
Our definitions of "location" must be different, and the game showed Squall trecking through this "random visual" long enough for people to identify it, and that's long enough for it to be catalogued. Note: just because you don't know how to handle or write about it, doesn't mean other people also do not. Just leave it to me. Netherith 14:03, September 24, 2011 (UTC)

I'm in a bit of a grey area and want to ask for an opinion. Models Resource has a Seifer render, original, kneeling and torn coat. The problem is that I guess the Hyperion is treated as a separate render, so I have Seifer, I have the Hyperion, but I can't get Seifer holding the Hyperion. Our current Seifer images are jpg and are of okay quality, but they have him holding his sword. So yeah, think I should replace them or no? I have a preference but want to know what you think. Doreiku Kuroofangu 11:12, May 24, 2012 (UTC)

Hrm, the battle models we have of Seifer are, in comparison to the new FFVIII enemy models, rather low grade by new standards. Maybe replace the "torn coat" model we currently have with the one you've found and move the old one to the gallery section. I don't think we need the Hyperion model though, unless it is different from the one we already have? If nothing else, the old models showcase his battle stance so they're still useful. Netherith 13:17, May 24, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, the new ones will have the battle stance too. And I got a new Hyperion image back with the other round of images before. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:43, May 24, 2012 (UTC)

The comment was assigned to an IP. You can't blame people not signing in for thinking it was DSS.
Secondly, it doesn't have round corners. A clear sign its code has not been updated any time recently.
Thirdly, Blitball doesn't use the game's class codes. All tables are supposed to. 21:42, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
Cool, so round the corners on the infobox and colour the blitzball table. Anything else? Netherith (talk) 21:55, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

AC Images[]

Shall I (and a couple Admins on the IRC) assume you have places to add these images, and that they are images we actually have proper usage for, and not just a scene-by-scene compilation of the film? Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:25, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Considering my past history with such things. Yes, you can assume that. You can also assume that Advent Children (like FFVIII, FFX-2, Before Crisis and Spirits Within before it) is my current renovation project. Netherith (talk) 00:28, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
To be tactful and nice, it's your past history with those projects that makes me dubious. Some of the images don't seem very useful, while others are practically dups. Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:37, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
The first bunch will be put in the Edge (loction) as well as possibly some story sections on other pages. Screenshot 28 will also go in the 7th Heaven page because that is the front of the bar. The purpose of 73 should be obvious Sephiroth, Kadaj, Remenant, related. The street sign can go into the Silence spell page as a film allusion reference as well as the Edge page again. I am sure there will be other duplications of images already here and they will be delt with when I come across them. Netherith (talk) 00:44, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
Do you see image 71 and 72? The difference is that Kadaj went from standing to kneeling! How is that important enough to warrant an entire other image? Jimcloud 00:52, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
Considering more of that same past history, can we assume they will not remain with extremely ambiguous names which are not supported by our image policy and the relevance of most of these images will be confined to collapsible galleries without matching captions? - Henryacores^ 00:38, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
Incorrect assumptions Henry. They will be in other areas as well as Galleries. Netherith (talk) 00:44, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
How many of these images will only be in Galleries, though? Half? More? Less? I'm leaning towards the second option, myself. Jimcloud 00:52, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Well in the meantime I'm gonna start cleaning up after you with some dup templates. Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:49, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

I had enough fun cleaning up after you during the uploading, so this time, maybe you can actually pay attention to what you're doing so I don't have to follow you removing dead links and removing deletion notices from images. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:38, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

There was nothing to clean up originally. What is happening now is a direct result of you ignoring my requests to leave things be and let me work. You don't "have" to do anything. Move on and let me work. Netherith (talk) 05:41, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
Actually the images whose deletion notices I just removed were not tagged by me, nor would I wager many of the deleted ones, I only recall picking out about 6 that I showed the Admins on the IRC that night, and they were deleted the same night. And that of course changes nothing that the images were deleted or marked for deletion because they are excessive and not needed. And in removing the deletion notices (which you did not do) I'm helping you, so yeah, piss off. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:47, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

FFVIII Bahamut Concept Art?![]

Hiya! I was wondering if you remember where you found this concept art for FFVIII's Bahamut? It looks obviously official, and obviously scanned from something, but I don't have any books with this image, and as far as I know, I have them all (FFVIII Ultimania, FFVIII Memorial Album, FFVIII Postcard book, FFVIII Bradygames Guide, 20th and 25th Anniversary Ultimanias, FFVIII guide by Digicube, FFVIII World Preview edition of V-Jump, and the Famitsu FFVIII issue as well). Where did you dig this little gem up? Espritduo (talk) 03:15, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Also, the Elvoret artwork doesn't appear to be in any of my books, either. I had assumed all these monster artworks came from the FFVIII World Preview guide by V-Jump, since before the 25th Anniversary Ultimania that was the only book I had ever seen that had them. And yet, there are plenty of monsters in that book that are not here, and Elvoret IS here, which isn't in the book. So where's this one from? Espritduo (talk) 03:42, March 3, 2013 (UTC)
I'm afraid its been a few years so I can't tell you exactly where I got it from but it would of have to have been from a website or other. I don't have access to the books and stuff that you EU and US people do. Netherith (talk) 05:09, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Talk:Materia_(Final_Fantasy_VII)#Effect_of_using_Materia. The page history says you added that bit so yeah. Drake Clawfang (talk) 04:01, July 5, 2013 (UTC)

I don't know if you've been watching the LP, but check out 12:20 and enjoy ;p. Drake Clawfang (talk) 18:40, July 21, 2013 (UTC)

Shadow Flare[]

I figured you of anyone would be the guy to verify this or not. Drake Clawfang (talk) 02:13, August 20, 2013 (UTC)

Rahbeit's edit is correct. No multi-elemental attacks. Netherith (talk) 07:01, August 20, 2013 (UTC)

A note, as we have the renders for them, I deleted the fanart you did of the Crisis Core Gunblade and the FF8 Lionheart. If you want them for your own usage, I saved the images and can pass them along to you if you no longer have them. Drake Clawfang (talk) 12:33, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

Vanille's nude model[]

Why didn't you censor Vanille's lower part. It's always a little bit disturbing when I edit her page :P

Because there is nothing to censor. Barbie-doll anatomy is not sexual, grow up. Netherith (talk) 06:02, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
