Summon page information

Hey Kelt, been nearly 8 years since we last talked when we were both working on the 4HoL stuff. :3 I just wanted to drop you a quick message on here to inform you that I'm trying to reorganize the information present on some of the summon parent pages, since some summons have gotten pages dedicated to their appearances in certain titles. So you may notice that some information may be disappearing from the pages, I'm just clearing some clutter. Considering there have been a few misunderstandings when I have done this before in big chunks such as the Highwind page, I just want to let you know that I'm not out trying to delete a bunch of info without their being a reason as to why. Sorry, hope this message wasn't bad to send or anything. ^^;;; --Miphares (talk) 07:10, April 16, 2019 (UTC)

Confessions of the Creator

Can you please look at Confessions of the Creator page? Right now, the more down the article you go, the more the page is broken, with pretty big parts of it being cut off further down. --Kruggov (talk) 12:17, April 23, 2019 (UTC)

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

hello, am playing final fantasy tactics for advance and i have a question about it, i was reasearching on other places but i didn't find the info i was looking for, so i don't know if you or somebody else could help me. My question is about the monster bank, i was trying to make the question on the page but i didn't see the comments

https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Cyril#Monster_Bank

i know i can catch the monsters and use the morpher to use the movements/skills/magics the monsters already know, but my question is... i see the monsters have several movements, and the ones i have only have 1 or 2 movements, so if i level them up, do they learn the new movements? or how/where to get the monsters with all the movements? for example:

i caught a goblin (https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Goblin_(Tactics_Advance) ) and a red cap (https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Red_Cap_(Tactics_Advance) ) before they will become extinct in the game, but my goblin level 15 only have goblin punch and according to the page he can also have the movements Weapon Def+ and Counter and my red cap only knows Magic Hammer but i see other 3 movements por him, so i don't know if they learn those movements with more level (while they were already captured), do i have to capture those monsters with more level or the goblin and the red cap which i already have wont learn anything more no matter if i level them up, in which case i should try to get a new one in another place or with more levels, if you or somebody else know the answer, could you tell me please, also that answer could be good to add it on the page, thanks

Re: FF tactics advance

yes, Counter and Weapon Def+ are passive abilities but not all the goblins have it, its the same for the other monsters, for example: the antlion (https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Antlion_(Tactics_Advance) ) should also have counter, but some of them have it and some of them don't am watching one antlion have the 2 movements, LV 3 Def-Less and Sandstorm, but doesn't have counter and the other only have counter and doesn't have any movement, so i wanna know if i level up the antlion in the monster bank and will learn the movements/skill/spells it doesn't have, i should level up my characters to find wild antlions with more levels and maybe all the movements/skills/magics or there is a special place where i can find the monster with all the skills, so the morpher could use all the movements/skills/magics of the selected monster

--Ajab3000 (talk) 19:08, April 27, 2019 (UTC)

Re: Re: FF Tactics

about google, as i said on the 1st message, i did it, and didn't find anything about it that is why i came here to ask, i found no talk, guide nor article about gaining the other movements/skills/magics. About the passive skill you are probably right i didn't think about it, but putting aside the passive movements, how about the others? it's the same, some of them have 1 movement and the other have 2, so that monster that only have 1 movement, will not get the another one even if it is level it? only the high level monsters have all the movements? is there a special place where the monsters have all the movements? that info should be somewhere. I have seeing question about, how to use the blue mage, how to get the souls to the morpher, how to level the monsters in the monster bank, is there any dif between a happy monster and an unhappy or one with level max and one with low level, but nothing about the movements if they can learn them or not... i think i will have to play more if i want to get the answer

Monogamous love does not exist

Monogamous love is not real, it's in people's heads. Love, sexual feelings, and everything in between, cannot, by pure biology and raw animal instincts, be restrained down and given to one person. That isn't how it works. Promiscuous love and polyamory are the only types that can truly exist. --Infinitepower12 (talk) 19:44, May 5, 2019 (UTC)

About FFXV Timeline:

Hello, the new information about the FFXV timeline can be found from FFXV Novel (Dawn of the Future). Episode Aranea is like the missing piece of puzzle for all dates in FFXV chapter 9-13.

There are several events that occur in Episode Aranea:

-Gralea falls, the Niflheim Empire ended as Emperor Iedolas turned into daemon ♣ Ardyn released Diamond Weapon and destroying MTs controller ♣ Diamond Weapon is done destroying Gralea city (and on its way to Tenebrae)♣ Gralea city swarming with daemons and MTs, the citizens turn into daemons ♣ Aranea resigned and went to Tenebrae to save the people, refugees, and the city.

To find out when exactly these events happened, we will use that one note found by Noctis at Zegnautus Keep. It said: "28th – VI More than half the keep’s inhabitants are now daemons. There’s no hope of neutralizing them, not with control lost over the MTs. Outside, the city swarms with yet more daemons—former citizens. There’s no escape."

The Japanese text also said the same : June 28. 魔導兵に命令を与えられる人間がいない (No one can order the Magitek Troops) / 帝都にもシガイ化した住民が溢れている (City is full with daemonized citizens)

With this note, we can be sure that Episode Aranea took place before / right on June 28th. However, thinking how fast the destruction of the city happened, we can assume this note is written right on the day of the event.

Now, to find out when Episode Aranea joined the FFXV's main game, we need to see dialogs of Aranea and her men in Chapter 12.

In Chapter 12, we know that Noctis meets Aranea in Tenebrae. However the city's already destroyed and in fire. When the bros asked if this is Aranea's work, Aranea said: "Thank the daemons, pawns of the imperial army." and then she also said: "Fought for. My men and I are in the search and rescue business now.".

The original Japanese text is much clearer. Aranea said: "Daemons from the Imperial Army attacked this place. I resigned yesterday! (昨日 退役したよ) Now I’m in the middle of rescue operation with my former mercenary unit."

Aranea resigned right before she went to Tenebrae, on the day of her DLC. So, with this, we know Aranea meets Noctis at June 29. That is the date of Chapter 12.

Biggs also supports this fact by saying: "Nothing but daemons in the capital. The citizens either lying quiet behind closed doors or lying dead. Your guess is as good as mine." With this, we can safely assume that 28th June note means the falls of Gralea.

After we learn that chapter 12 happened on June 29, we can calculate when Ravus was sentenced to death, when Noctis arrived in Cartanica, when Luna died, and so on. --Eriyamayuen (talk) 14:46, June 9, 2019 (UTC)

Having some data issues

Module:FFXV Data/Accessories and Module:FFXV Data/Attires keep bringing up an error stating "Lua error at line ###: '}' expected (to close '{' at line ###) near 'text'," despite there being no visible issues there.

Also, I don't know if it's possible in this state, but I attempted adding Module:FFXV Data/Recipes to Final Fantasy XV stats(Theroux (talk) 14:06, June 9, 2019 (UTC))

Lost everything

I fixed up Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn completely, only for my PC to randomly shut off for no reason before I could publish. Obviously, recopening the tab didn't save a single thing. Is there any realistic way to recover all that work? I could've sworn there was some sort of autosave feature, but that could've been from somewhere else. This kind of absurd effort-wasting tragedy makes me hesitant to even make any major edits again. Seems the universe will inevitably smite you (or just me) if you leave internet tabs open for too many days. (Theroux (talk) 14:32, June 10, 2019 (UTC))

Image upload

That's peculiar. When searching for the file in the gallery, it doesn't show up, and a ton of entirely unrelated items show up as well, so I searched for an alternate version and uploaded it straight from the visual editor like before, thus I assumed the naming issue was resolved. Looking back on it, the subtitles in the photo might've been a problem too. (Theroux (talk) 18:35, June 11, 2019 (UTC))

Source of info

For supplying precise information, such as specific numbered statistics (Prompto's Ballistic skill having a 0.4x damage modifier), or what status ailments enemies are susceptible to (Adamantoise: 1% Alterna), are there sources that provide this? Or is it just found through delving into the game's data? (Theroux (talk) 00:57, June 12, 2019 (UTC))

I've been wanting to ask since I began editing on this wiki, but are you a FFVIII fan? If so, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! Vapor Rub (talk) 21:38, July 9, 2019 (UTC)

Final Fantasy IX

Hi! Noticed your change to the edit I made regarding Doctor Tot. There's another piece of info in the Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive, Volume 2 for Final Fantasy IX that I thought I might ask for your guidance on. It concerns the names of Quan and Quale - specifically, it lists them as Quina Quan and Quina Quale. This would seem to suggest that "Quina" is in fact a clan name, meaning than while Quan and Quale are referred to by the personal names, Quina Quen is in fact referred to by the clan name. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:57, July 20, 2019 (UTC)

Good thinking. I've gone ahead and done that, but feel free to make any adjustments if needed. ProfessorTofty (talk) 03:23, July 21, 2019 (UTC)

The gameplay of Final Fantasy VIII remastered

Hey there, looks like someone is now playing the remastered version of Final Fantasy VIII and they only reach in the Fire Cavern section. Also, Shiva's appearance was changed too. Basically, the only changes in the game are both in-game and battle sprite and they even let Squall raising his level at the Balamb Garden Training Center. Looks like everybody is gonna have fun once they played this on September 3.

Here is the link:

I don't see any changes to Shiva's design, other than a more detailed face. Looks good though, and fast, PS games can feel so sluggish when playing them now.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:32, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

By the way, I just screenshot about the image of Julia Heartilly in the remastered version and her appearance would later adapted to her daughter Rinoa. I might get more screenshots in the remastered version. --BlazeSeed366 (talk) 14:55, September 3, 2019 (UTC)

Censorship

Okay so referring to the reverting. I have done a lot of researching towards the whole new Siren model in FF8.

"Banned Expressions" -- Sex-related expressions --

  • Expression of genitals and parts thereof (including pubic hair)
  • Expression of a sexual intercourse or sexual-intercourse-associated embracing,

caressing, etc.

  • Expression of urination, defecation, etc., intended to enhance a sex drive or

arouse a sexual stimulus.

So this is most likely the reasons for the change. As to why she retains the original model in the Japanese release on PSN and Steam? Well the PSX source code was lost as we all know, and it was just simply a re-release of the ISO from the PSX original and runs on standard emulation. In addition, Final Fantasy VIII's Steam re-release version was not released in Japan at all and was the original Eidos English version of the game, then again it is simply re-release using the original variant. The official Japanese store even remarks no changes have been made to the game or the story outside of smoothness to the graphics.

In addition, both of these versions simply reuse the CERO rating from the Ultimate Hits released at the time CERO was starting in the early 2000s, which a lot of their regulations changed at the point of 2011. They often don't rate emulation re-releases also, this is why game's from the SNES and PSX games don't having ratings too, despite being re-released on newer console virtual stores.

This is why even Final Fantasy VI on the SNES, PSX, and GBA still have Siren naked on all emulation releases. However, when remastered for the mobile phones and steam for 2014, they used the new edited model based on the one that appeared in the Western GBA release in all versions of the game.

Fast forward to 2019 with the new models for the release, the game receives a new rating since it is being released out on modern consoles, which is regulated by CERO to be sent to the company to review for the new rating system. Since the game was being remade from the ground up there are new things to fix in the version that could be finally done so since it was remade from scratch by reverse engineering the Eidos port.

As to speculation as to it being China, nope, China has no set release for the remaster version of the game and computers are always the gray area with gaming that often escapes regulations in the country, Japan most likely functions on this logic at times also for their PC releases. So this is incorrect.

Sorry for the wall of text. I just wanted to clear a lot of this up for you. I've done so much research on this stuff before I bothered to add it. --Miphares (talk) 02:34, September 8, 2019 (UTC)

Huh interesting. FFVIIIR will not release in China at all? That was the first region I was thinking considering the only localization model differences for FFXV were for there. Now that I'm thinking, I guess I had heard the news that China is "getting" their own Steam.
Interesting if Japan is the one whose ratings board they needed to appease. I was thinking other Japanese games going much more out, but looks like Xenoblades 2 and Persona 5 are rated for higher ages than FFVIII. Makes sense they want it to be in the lower rating.
The new Siren does look better though. I thought in the original she had a leaf covering like religious depictions of Adam and Eve.
I remember an old FFVIII localization interview from when the original game was (finally) coming to Europe and they asked if there are any differences, and the answer was only Selphie's weapon because UK law and changing a nazi-style resembling uniform (??!) because Germany, but otherwise the same as the NA version. What uniform though, what. Then I never heard anything about that again.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:03, September 8, 2019 (UTC)

FFVIII locations

Hey Kelt, since I figure you know a lot more about FFVIII than me (this is only really my second proper playthrough of it while making these locations, and the first time I didn't give it a proper try), was wondering if I've been doing the location page revamps okay? Also, any preferences regarding where to put shop info? I'm thinking it can go under the relevant subsections of Geography for the time being, unless you think the Final Fantasy VIII shops page should be expanded.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator @fandom (TC) 21:45, September 19, 2019 (UTC)

Italic tag for names of media in page titles

I've already talked to Technobliterator about it, who confirmed that it's a job not really done much by everybody, but it's still must be done. Refer to the official-wiki-discussion channel of the Discord server. ~ COƧMO THE CHOCOBO | TALK? | at 14:54, Oct 02, 2019 (UTC)

Hmm, well it seems super inefficient to do it this way and not with a bot. Didn't think they needed italicising for not actually being used as titles in tag context.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:00, October 2, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, I think so, too. I'll ask if we can have a bot to do all that. Sorry about the overwhelming activity feed. ~ COƧMO THE CHOCOBO | TALK? | at 15:09, Oct 02, 2019 (UTC)
We gotta italicise the parentheses too unless there's other non-italicised words in the parenthesis. Them's the rules according to Wikipedia italicising rules which is what I always look at because I don't actually quite know how italicising works without looking it up.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:15, October 2, 2019 (UTC)
That's what The Chicago Manual of Style says. The question is what rule the majority of us will agree upon, though. ~ COƧMO THE CHOCOBO | TALK? | at 15:22, Oct 02, 2019 (UTC)

Finished FFVIII

Finally finished my playthrough of FF VIII for the wiki! Thought I'd let you know my thoughts on it...

I have to say I actually really loved the ending. It requires interpretation, but it's a fantastic ending, Squall finding himself alone again, Rinoa finding him where they agreed, and then a video recording at the end to let you know they all made it. I genuinely smiled when I saw Squall survived at the very end. I don't really dig the whole time loop thing, but that's my only nitpick. I get the sense that the ending was the first thing they had in mind when creating the game and then they just put together a sequence of events around it...

In terms of gameplay, I found the final boss super easy because I'd just beaten Omega Weapon, all my party had Auto-Haste with Triple junctioned to Speed, so I was never really in any danger. But the music is very good and I'm sure if I hadn't been OP that I'd find it a genuinely thrilling fight. Ultimecia is a fairly lame villain though, Edea was much better.

So the game has great music, an interesting (if broken) junction system once you get the hang of it, some really good moments here and there, and a solid ending. I think this playthrough really made me appreciate the game a lot more now.

Hopefully I did the content well... I think maybe I should add a Quest section to Ultimecia Castle explaining a sequence for how to get through all the minions to break all the seals, but then other than that, can't think of anything I'm missing? I also struggled to describe how a lot of these places look, so hopefully I'll get better when I do the next games (VII will be next, for the Remake, after I take a break to work on R&C wiki for a bit).--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator @fandom (TC) 23:49, October 7, 2019 (UTC)

PSA: Photobucket is at it again

Hello, I am a longtime annual lurker, I would like to bring to attention that pages utilizing photobucket has been filtering and watermarking images, these images are only viewable if viewing the source image directly. Example: https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Walkthrough:Final_Fantasy_XII_IZJS/Nightravens/Trial/Part_10

For whatever reason on photobucket's part, this has pretty much devastated guides here on the wiki that are reliant on their hosting capabilities.

I've considered uploading these files onto imgur and replacing each of the images hosted with photobucket, however their image hosting duration only spans half a year. That being the case I am requesting permission to upload images directly to the wiki; if that is not possible request assistance in getting the original images to the https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Walkthrough:Final_Fantasy_XII_IZJS/Nightravens onto the server. I've already done the tedious task of saving the images and archiving them. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uUbIanSzh0yqsP4ewYjLMAgfCXH4GNcH

Thank you. E7alpha (talk) 00:52, October 14, 2019 (UTC)

For clarification, I would upload the images myself rather than troubling others. However whenever I try to add images via the top right corner's "Add" ... I am presented with "Permission errors" page https://i.imgur.com/FasmXWS.png

Superman sounding like Sephiroth in Superman vs. The Elite

In case you haven't seen the clip, here is a fan-edited clip of the scene from Superman vs. The Elite in which Superman pretends to turn evil and defeats The Elite by using their own dirty tactics against them, edited to include Sephiroth's iconic "One-Winged Angel" theme song. In this scene, Superman's voice sounds exactly like Sephiroth.
