Problem that a friend needs help onEdit

My advice to you: Get Firefox. Cuz Firefox > IE. And yeah, You have to enable the cookies in your browser. - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:33, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

There is one answer to this question. Firefox > Explorer. Not just because of this one thing, but because Firefox is better than IE. But yup, check options stuff should always be the first way to act.  ILHI 16:58, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Your advice had perfect timing! Tommorrow he is going to get himself his own computer. So that means He'll get FF. (I now just need to persuade my parents to get it too)..... 1stclasswarrior 15:35, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

huh? Actually all you got to do to get firefox is to download it freely from the internet.... ^^ it's FREE - SilverSummonerTaLk 15:49, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I know.... but last time we downloaded something we had to get a new computer. 1stclasswarrior 16:01, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Told you. Not allowed to download it. gotta wait to get myself a laptop. 1stclasswarrior 16:49, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Firefox is safe; and after you've downloaded it; it's even more safe because it's more secure than IE. Also it's pure awesomeness too.  ILHI 16:52, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey heyEdit

Burning Griever
No, story-topper means I have a better story. So if someone were to say they were sad because something happened to then; I'd give a reason why I'm even sadder. And if they give reasons why they're happy, I'd give reasons why I'm even happier. --I have to have the better story.

And when I'm bored without anything to do; I just check the RC and go into recently posted in talk pages.  ILHI 16:54, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Type "time=~~~~~". This automatically inserts the time.  ILHI 18:40, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Trance-ey Edit

I just heard this latest piece of work from Ayumi here. It kinda reminds me to her early trance-ey era with 'A Song for XX' and LOVEppears. =D I extremely love the beat and tunes, but the chorus part is the best of all! The lyric is great as well. ^^ - SilverSummonerTaLk 06:42, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Errm, writing as listening, start is brilliant. TBH, how could you go wrong with a name like "Sparkle". There are just song names you know are going to be better than others.  ILHI 09:26, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Huh? "Sparkle" is just nice name, IMO. =D Although I agree if you say that the title doesn't match the song. The song itself has some kind of gloomy atmosphere in it. This one is the most trance-ey song of her since 'I am...' era, I think. Love the chorus and the beginning is great as well. ^^ - SilverSummonerTaLk 09:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Talk Templates Edit

Hey there. I know you are good with code, so I'm bringing this issue to you. You see, my talk template is not functioning properly today, as it was yesterday. When I try to use it, it ends up...

VIIBCKatanaM

I see the same thing has happenned to Terra Homing. What do you think caused this, why, and can you please help me? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 20:58, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

I know why; and at the same time I don't know. We've switched to the new parser; why that should change anything I don't know. I'll try to mess around with it.  ILHI 21:25, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Is it working for you? On this page it shows it working; but on Template:Deadlyslashsword it looks broken.  ILHI 21:36, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
VIIBCKatanaM
FFTA2-Chaos

It does. The new parser treats {{!}} as just the symbol; and not as the symbol's use. ("|" BTW). I only used {{!}} to begin with to avoid code conflicts. Apparently it's clever now and knows which one is the separator between the yes and no results.

The new parser is a laugh.  ILHI 16:01, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Talk Template help Edit

Prishe ingame 4render
I should type this somewhere where people can see it: You cannot use choose/option to create a random template. The choose/option code doesn't know WikiTemplates; and therefore can't function alongside one.  ILHI 22:12, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Underscores Edit

VIIBCKatanaM
It's not just underscores; brackets show up as %28 and %29; and commas as %2C. It just doesn't look nice.

I'm all for consistency, except I shy away from such edits as removing commas; even spelling, I can't be bothered to fix because it's minor. Which is why I haven't fixed all of the URLtext; because it's so minor. I'd fix it if I were doing another edit on the page: but not that as my sole reason.

In the end: whether you bother or not doesn't bother me. It's for consistency; but if it seems too tedious... it won't be noticed so much.  ILHI 20:21, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Vivi's AgeEdit

60px-ARV3Face.jpg
Ask BH. There's some Ultimania/official timeline somewhere apparently. I always read he was 9; but ask BH.  ILHI 16:13, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Yuan, sometimes I can't tell when you link. I just think that blue is your textbox colour. I wondered why you made the smile at the end black.

I only realised after I clicked edit and about to post a link to that talk page you already had. ツ  ILHI 15:32, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Reminder Edit

In case you forgot, you wanted someone to remind you about.... what... page.. was it? Did it begin with G? Anyway, there was this page that you wanted to be reminded of around this time, if you haven't already taken care of it. I hope you find it, whatever it is. XD 8bit 01:52, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Great Malboro -- this. Of course, the reason I did remember it is because I left the message on the page. I'm more likely to remember something if I have told someone to "remind me" just because when I think "what do I need to do?" it's one of the first things in my head. Thanks anyway though.  ILHI 16:28, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

FFIV: After EnemiesEdit

Is every single FFIV enemy replicated in the After? Hence, every single link to an IV enemy, excluding bosses, needs to be changed? 8bit 19:38, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Nope. (stuff ma internet!) 59 enemies. Bosses, I have no idea. Calco and Brena, and the two are bosses; as well as Calcobrena. I saw some weird Deathmask hybrid- an image uploaded to the wiki recently. And there's probably a few other bosses. I have yet to sort out the bosses although I'm going to try to do them after the enemies.
BTW, I might switch between PS, GBA and DS translations when I talk about FFIV things. This is because I own the PS version, and have done loads of work with both the GBA and DS versions on the wiki.  ILHI 19:44, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
If you want to provide me with the link to whichever online source you're using I'd be happy to help you. 8bit 19:55, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
My source is in Japanese. And though I'd usually love for someone to give help, it's not just moving pages and linking I'm doing. In addition, there's actually only a few moves left. Though if you still want to help, I can give you a link.  ILHI 20:04, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
I fail at Japanese, and since you're almost done, you might as well keep plugging away at it, since the average ratio of your edits : my edits per minute is 5:1. Good luck! 8bit 20:08, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Translations Edit

Okay, I had a talk with Hecko and we think that the elements are (going left to right): flame, ice, lightning, earth, poison, gravity, meteor, water, wind, holy and non-elemental. We think that 隕 is short for 隕星, a falling star probably should have realised that >_< . Hope that helps. — YuanSaluto!Acta 10:45, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Would meteor be comet? Speaking this is VII and Meteor is the black materia.  ILHI 12:43, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Good point. I should have caught that one as well ^_^;. Let me know if you need any more translations. — YuanSaluto!Acta 23:44, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
...well:
  • ちいさなしっぷ
  • エッチな本
  • スケープドール
  • まんじしゅりけん
 ILHI 23:50, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

I can help with three:

  • ちいさなしっぷ = Compress
  • エッチな本 = Dirty
  • スケープドール = ????
  • まんじしゅりけん = Run away respectfully

They may be slightly off, as I can only do literal translations. I don't know short forms or slangy phrases. //masterConjurer (Talk)_ 03:12, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Here's what I think:
  • Small Compress
  • ...Naughty Book. I can't be reading this right: this is...a perverted book?
  • Escape Doll (?)
  • Throwing Star (artistic licence here. "Manji" refers to the swastika. Shuriken is a weapon. Hence, a swastika shaped shuriken is what we would think of as a throwing star. You can choose a more literal translation if you like).
Conjurer, I think you forgot to translate parts of the first two enemies, so they're inaccurate. — YuanSaluto!Acta 03:44, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Edit: Okay, now I feel stupid. These aren't enemies, they're items >_<. It makes sense now.
Like I said: I can tell you what it says, just not what it means. //masterConjurer (Talk)_ 04:02, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Need a better coder than myself Edit

Carbuncle
Carbuncle
It just required copying the other line section, then modifying colspans. The first colspan had to be 5 because that's the width of the speech thing. So with a width of five, it's five pixels of nothing - space. Then the 1px border, then the talkbox colour with a colspan of 4, because the roundedness added a few columns, so they have to be merged. Then the line itself which is the same width as the talk area which is just one column. Then the colspan 4 of textbox colour and then the end border.  ILHI 22:46, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Heads UpEdit

I just remembered, the tag is now (The After Years), not (The After). I've fixed all the links on the Enemy List page, but I'm sure there are others, in case you encounter them. Diablocon 18:06, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

I know. I've been them while linking, except I have forgot a few because of the speed in which I link. But it's easy for me to find them so don't worry.  ILHI 18:14, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Happy Wikiversary Edit

Congrats on one year on the wiki, ILHI. Looks like you're set to overtake me in mainspace edits today, so it seems like an auspicious day ;). — YuanSaluto!Acta 11:04, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Heh, I didn't think I ever would. I still have to juggle four pieces of coursework all coming to a close. I suppose I owe it all to not giving little effort towards coursework and the fall of care for my other wikis and everything really. :D
Thanks anyways.  ILHI 16:15, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Your wikiversary here is right after the WikiBirthday. Cool, ne? //masterConjurer (Talk)_ 00:53, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

I can edit the talkbox if you want. To make the image bigger, remove some unneeded parts and stuff. As long as its not used in the talkspaces and only in your walkthrough, restrictions begone.  ILHI 17:17, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Other assistance Edit

Thanks for the info. Is there any way a mere mortal like myself can expedite the process of kingdom, or does one merely widdle with one's thumbs idlely while one suffers in the extensive wait? --Gerdat14 18:02, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Walkthrough Templates ContinuedEdit

Burning Griever
Than {{../Template|talk=}} will work on all pages of your walkthrough but Walkthrough:Final Fantasy VII/1stclasswarrior. If you want to use your template on that page, type {{/Template|talk=}}.  ILHI 19:13, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Romaji Edit

Holy Kain Artwork
Now that makes me feel guilty. I have a source of a lot of Japanese and I'm going to be adding it to loads of our articles: knowing that other users will have to then do loads of translating which isn't as simple as copy and paste makes me feel bad for you guyz.  ILHI 14:45, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Woton
Currently it's the FFI Enemies in bestiary order. Done up to fifty at time of typing this, will have done more by the time you get on. I think Azul did up to thirty already.

Stalk ma contributions. Every time I add Japanese I'll say "needs romaji".  ILHI 15:38, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
