I wanted to link you to our Manual of Style so you could give it a look through, most specifically the area near the end of the first section: Linking in pages is typically restricted to the first instance of a subject needing linked, which is why there aren't links all through the enemy sections of pages. its about Final Fantasy XVEdit
I agree with you on all the points.
The danger status becomes irrelevant and an annoyance with how the healing system works. The combat itself is half way decent, but there's no balancing. Hard battles where you're underleveled become a war of attrition more than actual challenge. I just expect more from a 3d battle system. Kingdom hearts did it better, which makes me wish nomura or whoever was responsible for the KH system worked on this game. The easy battles just become "better warp strike this monster for ap since every other method is slow or annoying."
None of the important parts of the plot or backstory are explained in game. It's not shown why Luna's brother has a messed up arm, nor how she got the ring of the Lucii. It doesn't even explain why the protectors inside the ring just suddenly appear in the ending. Nyx was a better character than most of the cast of this game. It really makes me wonder if somehow the movie was suppose to be part of the game, but they had no time to create the parts needed for it.
Bahamut is wasted. He has a really cool cutscene during the ending and thats all we get I guess. The same with ifrit, who might as well be the real last boss since ardyn is also wasted.
Luna's brother becomes a super irrelevant fight in what could have been so much more. He has king Regis' sword, he's in the process of becoming a demon, and yet it is so poorly done. This is a game of lost opportunities and has the groundwork of something awesome that is never realized.
Ardyns big reveal and subsequent boss fight are stupid and disappointing at the same time. Use mechanics from the Leviathan fight, except make it easier and have absolutely no meaning. What happened to him being some kind of demon, like when they show him with his eyes bleeding darkness?
Theres a lot of things I find cool and end up utterly disappointed by in this. Aranea even has a chance to show up randomly and join the party to help in battles. This is cool, but it's so rare and insignificant. Why not have any of hunters show up to help too?
Chapter 13 onward is a train wreck.
