About the forum comments[edit source]

I know you didn't mean it as an insult, hence this face ^_^ there was no point about saying it on the forum since it'd be off topic and too long ago. I only just got my internet back. Don't worry, I'd never hold a grudge over being reminded I'm a sort of newbie! :) Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle.png 21:08, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

FFMQ Monster Info Box[edit source]

Do you know how to extend this by any chance? I would like to put elemental resistance, status immunity info, etc. Fenrir9 04:34, January 3, 2012 (UTC)

I do, I'll modify the template in a bit. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:38, January 3, 2012 (UTC)
Done, also added an "Other Information" so anything that doesn't fit in the other fields can be noted too. Doreiku Kuroofangu 07:57, January 3, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Drake, I also wanted a "Other Information" in there. I've tried editing the thing, but modification won't appear. Could you modify the Brownie page, all three missing fields are None. Once done, I'll be able to finish up the rest. Fenrir9 19:48, January 15, 2012 (UTC)
Done. Happy editing. :) Doreiku Kuroofangu 20:02, January 15, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you Drake. Now, to finish them all up. :) Fenrir9 20:44, January 15, 2012 (UTC)

RE: MQ Icons[edit source]

I know what all the icons represent (found out a couple of days ago while heavy testing it). They are elementals (8 top). FFMQ is a "special" game on its own. It has a special battle mechanic where every enemy attack is a "elemental", those that do not fit into these 8 are non-elemental (you'll never know if you don't use all those elements resistance on your characters). After I finish up the monsters (missing abilities plus put immunities and elemental resistance), I'm planing on redoing the Enemy Abilities with the correct info on each attacks (lots of errors or misinformation, etc). I have all attacks documented along with their right "elementals" written on a Microsoft word document. I'm also going to put up a chart right above the list of abilities on the Enemy Abilities describing each element along with their pictures/icon that I got from the game (just need to upload them). I'm thinking that some of these "elemental" where dummied out (at least two of them wouldn't be game breaking, while the other two are for debugging purpose), and obviously going to put up a section on it right after doing the Enemy Ability List. Current doing right now, playing thru the game for Monster resistance and immunity info, afterwards clean up and fix the MQ Enemy Ability list, and add a MQ section of Dummied Features. TAY renders[edit source]

'Scuse me, Drake, but for those TAY renders that I offered to remove the backgrounds from... was it just the Rydia one that you wanted without the background, or all of them? Also, the FFIV logo sort of cuts out parts of Rydia's legs, so I'm attempting to reconstruct them using other images, if that's fine with you. MateusNamelink.png Dissicon ff2 Emp1.png 04:32, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

The Rydia one, I'll leave that to your judgement. The rest yes, if you could get them too please. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:40, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
Certainly! MateusNamelink.png Dissicon ff2 Emp1.png 04:43, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
They look great. I cleaned up a few stray pixels on Edward's, but otherwise good job. Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:45, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. I had to reconstruct Rydia's legs from scratch. It was difficult, and they're a bit off-tone at points, but unless anyone goes looking it's hardly noticeable. MateusNamelink.png Dissicon ff2 Emp1.png 06:49, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

RE:Aerith[edit source]

On a forum dedicated to Dissidia. there's a guy who's trying to make a mod enabling Aerith playable, by having her replace Yuna as a skin mod.I figure he probably found them while browsing through files within the games code, they were in his signature.

He dose have a fan made skin for a KH2 Aerith costume mod, and the icon for that one looked obviously fake, but those other two seem legit to me. but if it turns out they are fake as well please delete them. im just trying to help contribute somehting i thought the wiki was lacking.
Ixbran 09:53, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Ah, that project. I've been following it, they're fake. But thanks for the thought. Doreiku Kuroofangu 09:56, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Materia[edit source]

Code[edit source]

You may be interested in this:

Add this to your JS

document.write("<div class='charinsert plainlinks' id='charinsert' style='position:fixed; /*top:650px;*/ bottom: 0px; right: 0px; text-align: center; width: 25px; background:white; margin-top:-125px; z-index:9999999999999999999999999; border:4px ridge silver; border-radius:10px; padding:5px'><a onclick='insertTags(&#39;{{DrakeSig&#39;,&#39;}}&nbsp;~~&#126;~~&#39;,&#39;&#39;);return false' href='#'>sign</a></div>");

Add this to your CSS

body.ns-0 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-2 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-4 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-6 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-8 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-10 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-12 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-14 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-16 #charinsert {display:none}
body.ns-112 #charinsert {display:none}

Then hard refresh. If it worked properly, you'll notice a little thing on the bottom right on talk pages. If you go onto edit forms, you can click the link to bring up your signature.

If you don't like it you can just remove it.

Also it may intrude on other things if they're floating in the bottom right, you can move it round by changing numbers in the JS.

Just thought you might be interested. 00:44, January 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hihi, small project i wanna share with you[edit source]

Hello drake. sorry for being inactive for a so long (though im sure you and the others enjoyed the break from my craziness, lol).

anyway the reason im here is i wanna show you somehitng i recently made:

Wiki-wordmark project.png

its my own version of this image, and was wondering if i could suggest my version becoming the new official one for the wiki for a while.

: )

If not thats fine, i just thought it would be okay to at least ask. my reasons for doing this is due to the fact you dont include anyone from FFXI in the current version and i thought using the dissidia character icons would be the best to include all the FFs in the FF Wiki Wodmark image.
Ixbran 05:02, January 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hm, neat image for sure, nice job. I'm not really the guy you'd want to bring this to, be better to start a forum and ask for the opinions of the community. Specifically dropping the admins a line would be good too. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:06, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
alright, would you help me then please? I'm not on the FF Wiki forums often, so i dont know how to start one. also would you be kind enough to link me to the admin's pages? I thought you were one of the admins, so thats why i brought this to you..
Ixbran 05:20, January 16, 2012 (UTC)
Drake is often mistaken for an admin, but the most active probably are Fae, Scathe, and Bluestar. There's a form-thingy at Rin's to make a new forum.C A T U S E05:24, January 16, 2012 (UTC)

Speech Bubbles[edit source]

Purple and Red contrasts are just too close and they clash together, no matter what different shades you use. Do you have to use those two colours together? Just try a completely different colour combination. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 15:29, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

Yes I do, primarily green and red, secondary blue and purple, for Terra. If you've got a better idea go ahead and show me. Don't mean to come off as snippy, just kinda tired of people complaining about it. Doreiku Kuroofangu 15:34, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
If other people are complaining about your choice of colours in your speech bubble, that's a usual indication that everybody are having difficulty reading what you are typing. Eventually, they'll just ignore your comments, and I'm sure you definitely don't want that. If you really want to keep the Terra colour scheme, try a light green on red. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 15:42, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
I have green. As for people having difficulty, I do not, and I can't put myself in their minds and see what they see that they do, so what do you want me to do? I'm not going to spent a half hour rearranging my colors to appease people I don't know how to appease, especially not with my current mood. You want to try and find something more readable that also appeals to me, go ahead. I simply don't care enough to do it myself. Doreiku Kuroofangu 15:49, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Nobody's brave enough to ignore Drake. Besides, his words are quite well respected here! Drake's Drake, and this attitude is quite normal for him from what I've gathered :P Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle.png 15:52, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Look Drake, I don't want to have an argument with you. I've just asked you one simple request. There is absolutely no need to get on your high horse about what was initially a small matter. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 16:00, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not on any high horse. I'm simply stating I don't know how other people have this problem, I can read it fine, so how am I expected to be able to know what people will be able to read? If you want to find something better, go ahead. Doreiku Kuroofangu 16:04, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

If you must have purple on red, try a dark purple. When I say "dark", I mean something like this. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 21:17, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Mango came up with the current version, does that work? Doreiku Kuroofangu 21:20, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
The purple you are using is still a bit too blue, and blue clashes with red badly, but at least it is a small improvement. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 21:28, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
What would improve it then, making it lighter or darker?
Also, apologies for the attitude in earlier comments, I was in a foul mood this morning and took it out on you. Doreiku Kuroofangu 21:30, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Making it more red or less blue, and maybe make it slightly darker. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 21:41, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
How's that? Doreiku Kuroofangu 21:46, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Blue clashes with red really badly, but a light red and a redish-purple won't clash as much. As long as as one is significantly darker (or significantly lighter) than the other. I suppose you don't want to mess with the relatively light background colour, so make the text darker. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 21:55, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

So no, the change doesn't work? Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:08, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. I thought you mean "why is that". Yeah, that's fine. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 22:11, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, excellent then, glad we were able to sort something out. Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:14, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Garnet til Alexandros, trivia[edit source]

You could have added those who supposedly change their menu portrait, instead of just erasing the whole thing, besides I'd really like to know who they are, for I've played all of them except 11 and 13. Either way, it's still something unusual, therefore worth pointing out.

Finally, "even" on its own without the "if" sounds really odd, like the whole sentence had no sense, but I could be mistaken.

--Badag 13:18, January 29, 2012 (UTC)

There are FFIII DS characters have different portrait depending on their job, Rydia, Cecil, Kain, Cloud, Garnet, Rikku, and I don't remember if Basch has a different portrait when he is a guest because he has a long beard and a moustache then.Keltainentoukokuu 16:38, January 29, 2012 (UTC)
As Kelt pointed out, it isn't unusual at all, isn't frequent but it happens often enough. Tracked down a vid on YouTube to confirm yup, Basch has a different portrait in Barheim too. Speaking of someone should track down the FF12 menu icons and upload them some day. Doreiku Kuroofangu 19:03, January 29, 2012 (UTC)
Let's put it on the to-dooo liiist. :D Also FFT characters have multiple portraits too. And maybe some other Ivalice games and spin-offs. Ooh and Zack in Crisis Core has two portraits.Keltainentoukokuu 19:24, January 29, 2012 (UTC)

Final Fantasy IV[edit source]

Hi Drake. I've been using for FFIV walkthrough (helpful walkthrough might I add), and I'm currently up to Zeromus. But he kicks my party's butt every time! I think the issue lies in the fact that my characters are only about level 40. I was aiming to reach level 60 through grinding, but I thought I'd ask you, what would you suggest as a good level to fight Zeromus? I hope you don't mind me asking. MateusNamelink.png Dissicon ff2 Emp1.png 08:37, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

For non-DS versions, Level 50-55. For DS, I would aim for 65-70. Doreiku Kuroofangu 10:54, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! MateusNamelink.png Dissicon ff2 Emp1.png 23:18, February 3, 2012 (UTC)

Skyward Sword[edit source]

Holy crap, you really liked it! That insanely long. I've never been a Zelda fan myself; if I don't get into something as a kid it's unlikely I'll ever get into it later. I was playing Sonic on the Megadrive when my cousin was playing Zelda, and I never saw eye to eye with him. However, I'm tempted to give Skyward Sword a go...when I can afford a f***ing 3DS. I only have a Lite. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle.png 11:14, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

SS is for Wii. And yeah give it a go, it's a solid game in its own right. Doreiku Kuroofangu 12:23, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

And thus I am a derp. I was writing this while thinking of Phantom Hourglass...well, I have a Wii, so I might just try it! Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle.png 12:56, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

RE: FFIX Icons[edit source]

Question[edit source]

Hi Drake. I would like to know why an admin deleted my File:FFXV Logo.jpg fanart despite it clearly being categorized in Category:Fanart. Thanks! 16:20, February 12, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know, ask the Admin? Doreiku Kuroofangu 16:22, February 12, 2012 (UTC)
Probably because you aren't the person who made it. C A T U S E 19:05, February 12, 2012 (UTC)

another random question. did i forget to upload an Omega png for FFXI or did someone nuke it? and if its the latter, why? cos i can't remember / tell and you did a last edit --Spira 16:47, February 20, 2012 (UTC)

I recall there being two images of Omega, I'm not sure which you uploaded but I noticed one was significantly larger and in png so I nom'd the smaller one for deletion. Doreiku KKuroofangu 16:55, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
hmm think that was mine then. I usually name all my images with brackets around FFXI. It's the technically more accurate one because I dont add forced lighting on the models when I make pngs of them, unlike whoever was doing the non-transparent ones, so it won't come with that weird glossy sheen that you'll never see ingame. Will add omega again with my next image dump.Spira 01:09, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Jihl[edit source]

Hello there. This is concerning the fake Jihl image for the supposed DLC. If you would kindly direct your gaze to this image. If you take a look at the right side of Jihl- her right side- in this image, and especially examine her baton, you will notice that there are pixelated jagged edges. These are artifacts that are a telltale sign of shopping done to alter a picture. You'll note Serah and Noel, and indeed nothing else in this picture, shares these artifacts. In fact, on Jihl's right side, you can see a fragment of the dark environment she was cut from still in the shot. And again, without any official evidence to back it up, this is the Ifrit fiasco on this wiki all over again. We should wait for an official announcement before we do anything. I hope I've provided satisfactory evidence. 04:19, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

I don't see any of those things. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:21, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
I don't mean to sound rude, but you must be kidding.. It manifests as a jagged 'blur' effect- especially on the length of her weapon- that is distinct from the 'distance' blur effect on Noel and Serah. It shows up right on her right side- on the edges of her image, mind- and on the length of the weapon- again on the edges. I implore you to take a closer look. I'm not saying Jihl DLC is an impossibility in the future, but this particular image was born on 2ch, and is almost certainly a fake. There is nothing to authenticate it, and a lot of indication that it is a photoshop. 04:25, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
I've asked other users including an Admin on the IRC channel to take a look, if consensus is that it looks suspicious and should be removed than it shall be done. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:26, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Decision reached, confirmation shall be waited for. I'll comment the sections about Jihl out on the DLC list and her article. Thank you for discussing it with me and holding off on editing during the time, many anons are not so reasonable. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:28, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your fair consideration of my points and my argument. I really appreciate your politeness and your willingness to talk it out. I used to have a sign-in for this wiki, but have since forgotten it completely, and haven't gotten another one for whatever reason. Either way, I prefer to talk these things out rather than get into edit wars, so again thank you for being so receptive. 04:32, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
No problem, I appreciated the chance to be, a lot of people outside the wiki see me as a tyrant of sorts, or so I've heard, but I like to consider myself approachable. :) Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:33, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Not only does the site Mr. 68 linked to have that image, so does this one and this one, as well as several others (Google "jihl xiii-2 dlc"). Unless they all are unknowingly linking to a hoax, it seems pretty likely to me that Jihl really is DLC. Anyways, Drake, you ain't a tyrant. Although over at FFAnswers I had to hunt down all questions under the name "Drake Clawfang", because you had a lot of enemies. But so did the rest of the staff -- it started to get annoying after a while. >;3 C A T U S E 05:20, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Just so you know, I, Mr. 68, am a member of the news staff on the site that the picture is linked from. A lot of the time these sites have multiple news posters that post this stuff as soon as they find it without thorough examination. I believe this to be one of those cases. I didn't notice the pixelation on the text as well as Jihl, though; that seems even more damning to me. This almost definitely seems to me like a hoax that a lot of news sites bought into. It isn't too terribly uncommon, really, especially with big name titles like FF. 07:29, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah. Let us never forget Lightning and Kain in the first Dissidia. Doreiku Kuroofangu 07:33, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Or the insistence on calling Brynhildr Surtr and Ifrit when she was first revealed. Some people even had sources for that one. Anyway, the measured and reasonable response I got around here encouraged me to grab myself a username and start contributing around here again. We'll see how it goes. I hope I didn't burst anyone's bubble with the Jihl DLC; I just saw this posted on the site I was a part of and couldn't ignore my suspicious thoughts. Bahamut VOID 07:44, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
You should have saved it or something - it would have been good for a laugh at least. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 05:39, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
It's still there. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:40, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Uh, what? Jihl's image or the screwball trolls mocking the staff here where nobody can get them? Well, looking through the first few pages of the deletion log with the help of Ctrl + F:
  • Why does Deadlyslashsword squabble and throw hissy fits? <Uh, what hissy fits? He's one of the most moderate of the moderators, pun entirely intended.>
  • WILL SOMEONE PLEASE SHIT IN DRAKE CLAWFANG'S MOUTH BEFORE HE STARTS TALKING DRIVEL AGAIN? <This one had about three duplicate questions, and is stupid>
  • Is BlueHighwind's Back? <Uh, what? Do you mean he's back, or ... what?>
  • Drake Clawfang never lost his virginity. <Not a question, immature, stupid, and it reminds me of the garbage people keep putting on Drake's page that accomplishes nothing but giving him lulz.>
  • Why does scathemote throw hissy fits over insignificant things on the wiki? <What hissy fits? I have a feeling this guy is the same one as the others, but he had a rotating IP so I couldn't block him. But he vanished from both wikis when they were split, thank goodness.>
  • Why does bluehighwind still edit or vote in character polls after leaving - is he a drama queen? <Fail>
There's also a user called "Drake clawfang" (same as yours but no capitals) who for some weird reason is immune to banhammerage. My guess is they got reported or banned over here and seeing that FFAnswers was a different wiki decided to mock you. FAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAIL.C A T U S E 06:38, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Oh sorry, thought DSS meant the Jihl image :p. And yeah, funny, I'll have them know I lost my virginity four years ago. I remember it well, it was a warm May evening, I had just taken a shower and my hand was soft and inviting... Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:42, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Nope, I meant the slander. :P I really was only interested if anything was written about myself, of course...Why do I feel proud of this? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 07:13, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, in the same minute as I made that edit. I can't really tell if it was before or after since diff IDs (that I can see) aren't applied to deletions in the same way edits are.

In other words, he was deleting it while I was making the edit.

But thanks for the insult anyway. It was really appreciated. JBed 16:05, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

You're very welcome. I like that insult "numbnuts", not as mean as other insults while still functioning as one, not considered a curse word so kids can use it, lighthearted and humerous without needing context, and alliteration always adds appeal. Doreiku Kuroofangu 16:22, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

[22:00:15] DrakeyC does not approve of slash[edit source]

After those matches in your tournament a little while ago, suuuuure I believe you ;).

Doesn't slash refer to shipping, or at least a subset of it? I've seen it refer to both general shipping and homosexual shipping. — YuanSalutActa 12:07, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

"Cloud/Tifa" refers to shipping in general, while a "slashfic" always means homosexual shipping. Either way, I find that hard to believe Drake disapproves of slashies. Somebody care to give me the context of it? Cat: meowhunt 15:13, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
There wasn't any context really, Yuan was just reading something with apparently shipping undertones and made reference to it reminding her of me. As I said on the IRC I don't really read slash/fics, it's not my cup of tea and none of the male/male pairings interest me, though I'm completely tolerant of homosexuality. Gilgy/Dissidia[edit source]

Hey Drake. I was just wondering, what do you mean by, "this comment make 0 sense"? I mean, in Dissidia, Excalibur is the red one. Could you explain where I'm going wrong? I just don't understand the bit of Trivia... BlitzballArt.pngTidus357 01:49, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

You're wrong where you're wrong. Re-read the trivia point, I can't make it any more straightforward than it already is. Doreiku Kuroofangu 01:53, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
No, no, I'm not saying that I'm wrong. I'm just trying to make sense of what you said. In Dissidia, Excalibur is the red one. Are you saying that the summons swords are wrong? O.o Ugh, my bad week is stretching into a month... BlitzballArt.pngTidus357 01:57, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
"Are you saying that the summons swords are wrong?" - that's exactly what the trivia point says. -_- Reading comprehension, mah boi. Doreiku Kuroofangu 02:00, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I can read. I was trying to make sense of what you said, not the Trivia comment. Ugh, I knew explaining wouldn't make a difference...

Apology accepted, but really, just read the trivia point closer. My statement speaks for itself, your comment didn't make any sense on account of you simply misreading the trivia. Doreiku Kuroofangu 02:04, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

Final Fantasy V Job SD artwork[edit source]

Hi, I was just wondering what is the source for the FFV job images like those seen in List of Final Fantasy V Jobs? As in, were they in a magazine, the manual, or what? I'm kind of interested in finding them in higher resolution and getting a poster or point made of all the jobs for all the characters. Obviously if you know of any online source for them, that would be perfect. Thanks. 12:55, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

I got them from the official website, tab system, job change system. If you want them bigger you'd probably be looking at third party websites that sized them up. Doreiku Kuroofangu 15:37, May 2, 2012 (UTC)
That's great, thank you very much! 18:40, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, still have the bosses to do once the enemies are cleaned up. Sadly couldn't get them all, but got a lot. Doreiku Kuroofangu 17:55, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Wouldn't "EnemyName-ffvii.png" be a better format? It makes it much easier to search for (since you only have to type in subject then find the game, as opposed to typing in game (and knowing whether it uses numerals or numbers) and then knowing the next character (dash? space?).

I also prefer to use dashes over spaces just because it stops icky underscores being used in file links. 18:50, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Well too late now, I ain't moving them a second time. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:51, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

FFX Renders[edit source]

Do you know it is possible to rip the Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 Iso with Noesis? You can obtain renders with animations like this one (in my wiki you can find other) instead of having a static render like the ones you uploaded for the Aeons. Some renders don't have animations, but to make them have it, you can take the animatio file from a similar monster and rename it to match the other monster file name. Ex: from 0118 (Evrae) to 0119 (Evrae Altana) or 0276 (Shinryu). --Pmbarbieri 13:00, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

I don't have the ISOs. The static images, I downloaded the models from Model Resource, the model files were unusable but they all came with static images, those are the ones I uploaded. Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:48, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Toolbar Alignment[edit source]

Wasn't exactly sure how you wanted it, however:

.WikiaFooter.float .toolbar {top:0;bottom:auto;}

This moves it to the top of the screen. Unfortunately it doesn't show unless you scroll down a little, because the wikia toolbar has a higher z-index (that means how high up on the screen it is) than the toolbar and it seems the z-index of the toolbar is locked or something so I can't fix it. :/ Cat: meowhunt 03:44, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Hm, well it's been a while since I played the PSX version, but as I recall it's identical to the base game in terms of graphics so nothing comes to mind aside from clarifying translation differences. And weapon sprites but with FF5 and FF6 I've been waiting to find those for a long time so I dunno if you can get them or not. Doreiku Kuroofangu 02:30, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Nah, they have Locke's weapon sprites but without labels. I recall linking you sprite sheet for FF5's weapons once to see if you could identify them so I could chop them into individual images and upload them, but you never answered. :p Doreiku Kuroofangu 02:36, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

A few more things with descriptions - Bushido, Dance, and Magitek. I can get the Blitzes from my game, and the only other things I can think of, besides generic items, is magic, which we don't need because flipping through the spell list the descriptions are as bare-bones as you can get, "Attacks with ice", "attacks with fire", "banish enemy to another dimension", and so forth, it's basically literal descriptions. Also, I recall you mentioned Esper descriptions. Sounds good for me, I'm gonna vape the Esper template and make them into a proper table, and we can add descriptions then. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:05, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Yup, GBA Espers have them too, though they're as dry as the magic descriptions. I'll check my FF4s - GBA, DS and PSP Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:34, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Hm, can't find my GBA. DS has no descriptions, just stat listings. PSP has descriptions, dunno if they're the same as GBA ones. Leather Cap carries the very helpful blurb of "leather cap". As for Dimensions, I compiled my lists looking at Weapon and Armor lists, so if Dimensions has one or not, there's your answer. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:49, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Well adding Dimensions to my list, which missed a few like Dark Sword but you noticed, we have Chaosbringer (FF11, Tactics, Dimensions, Dissidia, D012), Thief Knife (FF5, FF6, FF11, Dimensions, D012), Great Bow (FF3, FF4, TAY, Dimensions, FF11), and Chakra Band (FF3, TAY, FF9, Dimensions, FF12, D012). Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:12, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Awesome. I'm replaying FF6 and am going out of my way to talk to all NPCs and pay attention to everything I can. Sure it's biased, but I want to expand and deepen our coverage of it as much as I can, hence stuff like Edgar's Coin :p. Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:18, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

And nothing, unfortunately unlike a lot of sides they don't just use art and renders and add a fade overlay, that's the images as they are, so I'm not seeing much of use. Doreiku Kuroofangu 19:18, May 30, 2012 (UTC)

Good job you guys, I would have never though of doing this. There are two painting that are missing. The first is a painting of Maria from the Owzer's basement. She has four different painting where she changes direction (North, south, east and west). This is triggered by going thru doors. The painting is found where those floating chest are. The second is after being attack (the chair panting), the old woman sits on the chair permanently if I recall correctly. That's all that I remember. Fenrir9 04:45, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
Didn't have the Maria one in my source, and plum forgot about the old woman, thanks for the reminder. I've got a nice quality GBA let's play bookmarked, should be able to snag them from it. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:53, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
I just check on youtube, the old woman doesn't permanently stay on the chair. My bad on that one. Fenrir9 05:20, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah but she's still there so it's nice to have. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:23, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Painting[edit source]

Those four are Chocobo riding yeah, I mean the one to the left of the tent. And nope, checked the Phunbaba scene, not there. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:46, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

The floating Esper Terra, if I am not mistaken. That sprite is located where the Tent is in the other character's spritesheet (within the game). In other words, Esper Terra does not have a Tent sprite and has that floating Esper Terra sprite instead. I am not too sure, but that is what I vaguely remember about that particular sprite. Best thing to do would be to hack Terra to be permanently in her Esper form and use a Tent to see what shows up. Fenrir9 11:33, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
Yep, my assumption was correct. That is Terra's Tent sprite. I just tested it a few moments ago. Fenrir9 00:08, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

FFVI Elemental Icons[edit source]

For some reason or another, they still look like crap. Are those GBA rips? Anyways, you're better off using the SNES ones if the GBA ones look like those, and don't put transparency in them. They blend in with the page due to having the same white color in the icons, the same white color on the pages of the wiki. Keep the default blue in the background present so people can see what the icon looks like. As of now, the icons doesn't look like the ones pictured within the game. See for yourself: & Fenrir9 11:28, June 10, 2012 (UTC)

Good point. As for where they came from, don't know. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:12, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, okay now I see. I have a hard time with the PSX emulator in getting it to display the best/good/great picture/video of the game so the game displays correctly. Here are samples of SNES ( & GBA ( I just notice something else, it would appear that the Water icon (GBA) was modified slightly compare to the SNES version. I wonder if the others received the same treatment as well. Fenrir9 20:46, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
They are, checked my GBA playthrough, all slightly modified - the Fire one has an extra pixel on the right, the Ice one has the lower tip pixel, the Wind and Lightning ones are longer. Go to work Xep, we need these! ;p Doreiku Kuroofangu 20:50, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
The "FFVI Death Symbol.png" is actually the Zombie icon, I just check on the SNES version and I'm sure its the same across all FFVI versions. I don't know how to rename images, if I could I would do it myself. Fenrir9 06:43, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
Oh okay, thanks. Renaming files, you can't, it's mods only. Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:53, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
Would it be possible for you to rename these 3 images? The uploader got them wrong. MQBlackRobe.PNG is Replica Armor, MQMysticRobe.PNG is Black Robe, and MQReplicArmor.PNG is Mystic Robe. Links:,, Fenrir9 20:42, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

Sure, will have to do some of the work later since Wikia doesn't like moves to old file names so soon after the old was moved, but yup, it will be done. Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:48, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

'And scratch that, fortunately I was dumb enough not to space my file names back then, so all three can be done now, :) Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:49, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

RE:FF6 Stats[edit source]

I don't remember much about the mechanic of FFVI, but I should have look into it before posting here. My pleasure.

"We do not allow speculation, rumors and fan theories in the mainspace"

No, you do not allow this.

"and as you note, the revival rumors about Aerith have been long disproven, so it is inappropriate to note them on her page."

Just because something has been disproven does not mean it never happened. Fortress was not released but we still have an article on it. 21:23, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Ha-ha, very funny Drake.C A T U S E 22:06, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

I know, right? JBed accusing me of enforcing my way of doing things on the wiki and edit warring without discussion, it was hilarious. Haven't been that entertained since I read my first Esper Terra hentai doujin. Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:12, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

I do not enforce anything, I discuss things. I may appear to be... what's the word... "enforcing"? but in the end I do not make changes without consensus... or if I make a change and someone questions it then I continue until I see clear opposition.
Now this edit-warring you speak of... I don't edit war. I revert dubious changes to pages without summaries.
And Drake, it's almost always (if not always) you. It's not that I target you, you're just always the person that does this.
And of course you still do not face the matter we were edit-warring about. I come up with a response and you do not reply and then skate around the matter with your "HA, I AM SUPERIOR" talk. 22:55, June 20, 2012 (UTC)
I don't reply to you much anymore because you rarely listen, as per usual you're arrogant, self-righteous and stubborn, and in this case a hypocrite especially since you're sneering at me for the behavior you practice all the time. To be perfectly frank that first sentence of your post is 100% bullshit, and you've no place to talk of me acting superior when you're on record as declaring yourself more deserving of Adminship than any other user the last time we had promotion talks. But fine, I'm done with the barbs, now I shall explain myself in a civil, forthright manner.
I reverted you because as far as I'm concerned it was vandalism, we do not allow speculation and fan theories in the mainspace for as long as I can recall. Perhaps it's one of our unwritten rules, perhaps I'm hallucinating, either way it's how I know the rules to be and so I enforce them, and given Henry seems to agree for the time being it seems the wiki-authority concurs with this position, at least as far on what authority has expressed a position. That said, edit warring is a two-person job, if you want to discuss, well there's a discussion going on, let's see what comes of it, apologies I had to depart but I had work this passed evening. So far at a glance on the discussion it seems several people agree "no don't add it", but we shall see, and as always, if the consensus turns out to be support for the theory's noting, then I will abide by this even though I disagree with it.
As well, cancelled games are entirely impossible to compare to fan theories and speculation, they are in entirely different categories. Doreiku Kuroofangu 11:49, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
"we do not allow speculation and fan theories in the mainspace for as long as I can recall."

As far as I can recall, we had some of this stuff in mainspace, but it has been more or less phased out by people who have the impression that we do not include that kind of content. I could link pages where this stuff is in articles, but I purposely avoid linking them because then someone will just remove it.

But anyway, the adding of the R=U theory (at least in my opinion) is a separate matter. I don't consider Aeris's revival a theory, because it is something that can be disproved by the game. With R=U we're saying "people believe this, but we don't know", and I can understand how people would be against adding this since it's all speculatory and other than a few parts of the game people have connected, there really isn't anything that (I would say) hints the truth.

Gameplay rumours can be disproved, and informing people of their existence and then saying it's not possible is good for two reasons: Firstly, if people happen to believe they are true then they will find that they are untrue at the wiki rather than it just being another hole in our coverage.

Also Aeris's revival-- type in "ffvii aeris " on Google and the fourth option is "resurrection". Aeris revival is a fairly well-known topic. There won't be many players of VII that won't have at least heard about it. There's actually a lot of history to the rumour, but all I'm really interested in the wiki doing is noting that the rumour/s exist and then dispelling it.

I'm tempted to link to other articles that reference disproved rumours like this, but then of course said articles face the prospect of having it removed, and even though I would happily submit to having them removed from articles if a consensus is found otherwise, I still wouldn't link the wiki to them. I'd like to hold on to it. Yeah, I suppose I am stubborn.

I am going to apologise for the wall. If I knew how to get the same amount of content across in a shorter amount of characters I would. 18:50, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

Jonny, please count everyone who has posted on that section of the Ultimecia talk page, except for you and Truthful Knight. (Yes, even I am siding against having much of a mention at this point). The ratio is 2:some massive number. And since Truthful Knight has left the wiki, it might as well be 1:some massive number. I'd call that consensus.C A T U S E 18:55, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
Firstly, that's R=U, here I discuss Aeris Revival, secondly, fairly sure the debate changed half way through, and no one even understands what the debate is.
I would be tempted to make a forum topic about how we handle this overall, but then that will just lead to the whole "SPECULATION = EVIL" misunderstanding without people taking into consideration that that isn't what's been said because it's neutral commentary on a fan-theory that exists.
Maybe I'm just blinded by my own opinions, but I've read a number of people saying "we could link to the forum topic" or "maybe a short mention of trivia".
I'd say a poll is good, but we often get people voting in them who don't understand the topic at hand. And judging by the comments on the talkpage I think that's very clear.
But I will ridicule the poll and voters but I will not act against what the wiki things it found in said poll. 19:16, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

Too many exceptions[edit source]

Manikins hold too many exceptions in that regard. Unless a reliable source says thats the pattern they share, there's too many exceptions for it to not to be in trivia. For example: Neither Cloud, Sephiroth, and Tifa are colored bright blue and neither are close to that color of the Final Fantasy VII logo. The original being teal. Another example is Squall, Ultimecia, Laguna. Neither are purple and neither have purple logo. Should we put the ones that don't fit the given pattern as part of trivia? 21:47, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
