Walkthrough[edit source]

Hey Drake, I've been playing through Final Fantasy IV: The After Years using your walkthrough, mostly to fix up the TAY stat tables on all of the playable characters that are unfinished, and I just got to Edward's story. In Part 19 you stated the rewards, and in regards to your investigation to the Level Band, the 1.25x increase in EXP counts for the whole team. Thanks for the walkthrough though. Well according to our translation page, Brave Ballad is "Chikara no uta"...which would actually be Sinewy Etude. What's currently on the Dimensions section there, Aiding Anthem, is "Tairyoku no Uta", which would be Mighty March from FF5 making that a recurring song. So yeah, I'm incompetent ;p. Oh no, what's confusing as hell is trying to track down the Japanese name of every single song when a good portion of the pages don't name the individual songs on their translation pages, and cross-referencing an old version of the Dimensions Bard page with the translation page because the English names are so different and the translation page doesn't note the English names directly, forcing me to check "okay Japanese name is blah blah which is power song which is job level 5 which is sinewy etude, what about TA2's song with a similar effect, damn no translation for it, well let's use the Tactics translation for the song of the same name and hope they're the same in Japanese too, I can't tell because GOD OUR TRANSLATION PAGES SUCK ANYMORE"...are you seeing how I got mixed up? To list the status of our translation pages with regards to the names of Bardsong Songs - FF3 doesn't list them, Ff4 does, TAY doesn't, FF5 does, X-2 doesn't, XI HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Tactics does, TA2 doesn't, 4 Heroes doesn't, Dimensions does, Theatrhythm HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Really, there are so many songs with similar effects it would not surprise me if there's mergings to be done, I really don't know because I can't check the Japanese names to confirm they're the same ability, a good half of the games I was checking data for had no data for me to check. The best I could do was Google "Final Fantasy <Japanese name>" and I'd usually find some sort of database listing the song's appearances in each game, but I know first-hand from doing it the site isn't fully reliable. Kain's DS Render[edit source]

Umm hi Drake. I just wanted to ask if you could get rid of the white background in Kain's DS render and change it to a .png file? If it were that simple I'd have done it. Unfortunately as a jpg, simply deleting the white background results in jagged and uneven edges along the edges of the image, and Kain's hair, because its so close to white, ends up a total mess because the image editor I use can't tell what's background and what's hair. Red Ifrit[edit source]

I'm wondering if you can make a second "tab" on Ifrit (Final Fantasy VI) for Red Ifrit or Thamasa when you have the time, I should mention that Red Ifrit goes unnamed in the game and within the data. I'm asking you because you once help me with the enemy template. I can't seem to pull it off and make it work. I don't know if that's really thing right thing to do. It's not actually Ifrit at all, just a random Esper that uses a palette swap of him, with completely different stats, name (none), and place in the game. I would make it its own enemy page, although I'm unsure what we would call it. I suppose Red Ifrit with the "unofficial name" tag would do. Espritduo (talk) 09:58, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

The thing is, it does actually have a full set of stats and all that. As far as the game mechanics go, it's a fully functioning enemy. You just never fight it in a real battle. I don't know how we handle those. I mean, we cover every "enemy" in FFIV, such as Bard, Girl, and whatnot, and even the developer's room "enemies" which often times aren't really fightable either, since many of their "battles" are just in-battle cutscenes. So I wouldn't say don't include the red Ifrit at all, I'm just not sure what we should call it if we do make a page. Maybe just throw its info box on the general FFVI Esper page where its discussed? Espirit makes a good point...still, given that "Red Ifrit" is a made-up name, not right to have it on Ifrit's page. It can have its own page I suppose, just remember to tag it as nameless. Actually, I've decided to place it on the Esper page of FFVI. I'll figure out something unless someones beats me to it. It'll most likely be under the Other Espers section with a full description of that Ifrit, statistic will go into a simple table, mentioning its nameless officially, madeup name was used to describe it, etc. While we are talking about espers Espritduo, does any of your books mentions why the summon orbs are different by any chance. Also, does the symbol inside that orb mean anything? Is it a Japanese character or something? A picture can be found in the trivia section of the Esper (Final Fantasy VI) page itself. The only difference between Ifrit and Red Ifrit are its stats (Level, HP, MP, Attack, Defense, Evasion, Magic, Magic Defense, Magic Evasion, Speed, Hit Rate). and the AI script. It appears that the monster infobox for GBA section uses the wrong label names (MBlock instead of Magic Evasion) according to the bestiary in game. It'll fix this right now. The only problem left is the name. I go with "Esper (Enemy)" or "Esper (Boss)" or "Esper (Thamasa)", or something "Esper", since that is really all we can say with 100% certainty about it. When you don't have a specific name, then you should probably move up a notch and go by what type of creature it is. In this case, an Esper. As far as the summon orbs, I don't think there's any hidden meaning in them. The little squiggles inside them are not Japanese as far as I can tell, and nothing I've ever come across in any books tries to explain them. I think it's just different styles for different games. Seeing the format now though, to be a dick I prefer the way Prishe is set up, it's more compact and leaves the lengthy descriptions for List of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Abilities (which the articles ought to link to one way or the other). FFV New Stat Resistance[edit source]

While looking at the bestiary picture that were currently uploaded earlier today, I spotted a new stat that was introduce in FFV iOS, or they made it viewable to the players at least, but this one doesn't appear in the GBA version. I just check to make sure. The enemy template would need to be updated to include a iOS tab with the option to fill out the Resistance. I tried to find info on Resistance on google and didn't find anything for it, so I don't know what Resistance means or what it does currently. About the Cloud Strife/Dissidia (PSP) revert[edit source]

Hi, you have reverted the Cloud Strife edit I had done, but you should see [1] and then you'll see its Triva section contain the line "Like some of Sephiroth's attacks in Kingdom Hearts, the Sonic Blade attack makes an appearance in Dissidia Final Fantasy as one of Cloud's Brave attacks" but ignore the last part of that line as the last part was made by me. Those tables with tabbers look as tough as hell. I've never had a decent education of HTML to add to the trouble. And I only know the stats for the iOS hard mode. Filling out the fields is simple, copy the coding displayed under Usage on Template:FFIV Enemies and put the relevant stat after each "=" (the reason that there's not a separate game field for each stat is that aside from the DS version, stats are consistent). The iOS is based on the DS version, so put your stats in those fields. "DSlevel = whatever level your game says", and so forth.   1. Are a couple of sentences all that can really be fit into the article? I feel like there's more information out there that can be put into words - unless I'm wrong, in which case just say so. :v
  2. Do you think we can change the links on their pages to direct to the appearance that the enemy is based off? i.e. if this is done, the portion of Ultima Weapon's current-as-of-the-time-of-this-post info that says "...based on its appearance in Final Fantasy VI..." would read "...based on its appearance in Final Fantasy VI..."
  3. The actual quotes from the game for certain enemies are a great source of humor to me. Would you agree?

I also agree with Drake's first sentence, the only reason I gave the ATB enemies there own page is because they don't deserve to be on the "real" game's enemy pages (I found this quite insulting, for me anyways). As for the pages themselves, they are only "skeleton" pages, meaning that if you can improve them, then go ahead. Like Catuse167 said, there is no strategy. I've never played the game, and ∞% certainty will never play it unless it receives a complete overhaul and transformed into a respectable game (which I highly doubt will ever happen). Most of the info was found on a website containing a bestiary, Gil, EXP, Drops, etc (it took a mere copy and paste effort). Images that I uploaded (screenshots) came from google images while looking for ATB full spritesheets (Jobs, Valefor, Madeen, etc) for my personal use. All the Bravest suffers from what I like to call Modern Mobile Gaming Syndrome: the iPod and iPad have been plagued with "freemium" games that are almost always transparent cash cows with lazy and uninspired designs. Hell, I could easily design something better, and that's due in part to my few (but still unfortunate) experiences with freemium games during my lifetime.
As stated by Fenrir, the sprites are the only positive, along with some of the quotes given - and now that I've seen a few more of them, I'm wondering if I should rethink that sentiment.

Hi Drake, I know I'm endlessly pestering you for the past few days, but I have a fairly important question to ask. Was there a minigame in any version of FFIV (aside from iOS) that had a minigame that starts in the Feymarch, when you go to a house there, an eidolon will ask you to search for his 8 friends all throughout the three world maps? I feel a little bad about what happened when I came out of nowhere saying that I want to be a contender to host the next main series LP after FFVIII. I honestly didn't know that you were also planning to do it. So because I'm still very new to all this, whatever happens with the mock LP I'm doing this Sunday, it would be best if you do the next main-series LP after Blue, then if the mock LP goes well I'll do the one after that. CzarDragon and Kaiser Dragon[edit source]

The GBA version of CzarDragon is called Kaiser Dragon. Do we merge CzarDragon with Kaiser Dragon together or keep them separated? Of course CzarDragon has to be renamed Kaiser Dragon, but the problem arises since there's two Kaiser Dragon in the same game. One with the Dummy tag and the other with the Superboss tag. I would say keep them separate. Kaiser Dragon (superboss) is meant to be a reference to the infamous CzarDragon/Kaiser Dragon dummy enemy. Beyond that nostalgia nod, they don't have anything in common, and are distinctly unique entities. CzarDragon is its own thing in the SNES/PS version, and is still its own thing in the GBA version, just with a new enemy added that is based on it. Its name, however, is now properly called Kaiser Dragon in the GBA version, as was always the case in Japanese. So at the very least, I suppose we should change the name of the Czardragon enemy page to Kaiser Dragon (Dummied Enemy) or somesuch. Espritduo (talk) 21:50, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Well, the animations are in .ff12c formation. How I did it with Noesis is, load up a model (this is how I got the party posing), then look for the .ff12c file in the same folder with the same name as the model file, drag it from your browser folder into the Noesis window, and click no to apply the animation file to the model. For some reason when I loaded up those files in Noesis, their textures didn't apply. I extracted them to see if they had textures at all, and they did, they just didn't apply, so I dragged the extracted texture file into the Noesis window and there they were. The except though is the one shield with those rounded designs, it doesn't have a texture at all. I'm guessing it must be an early, dummied item to be untextured. The flans' models would be perfect, if the animation weren't so messed up. They only show you part of the movement, and that's also with the other models. I don't think there's a solution for that yet. --Pmbarbieri (talk) 12:08, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
