Defeat the Intangir[edit source]

Do you mean the Golem magicite can be bought even in the World of Balance? Because I know that the Intangirs quit Triangle Island in the World of Ruin --LordRemiem 08:25, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

Yup, Golem and Zone Seeker both. Doreiku Kuroofangu 09:18, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

A Question[edit source]

Chibi-Unita.jpg

Delete templates[edit source]

You need to add a reason to the delete template. Or better yet, a Dup template so it links to the better file. An admin isn't going to have any idea why an image is being voted for deletion and will either have to check or just delete it without any real idea (which I hope they don't). JBed (talk) 13:05, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Any of these would take up more time which I don't care to waste. By this point I think most Admins know if I nominate an image for deletion, it's probably because I've replaced it. Doreiku Kuroofangu 13:07, July 12, 2012 (UTC)
You have to upload a new file to even have justification for deleting the old file (or find the better file's page when two similar files already exist on wiki). It is not that hard to copy the filename of your newly uploaded file. The wiki doesn't give special treatment to users.
Besides, it makes more sense for an admin to check the file being replaced then the user who added the deletion template. 79.69.207.16 14:41, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

I know this is probably a stupid request on my behalf, but I need my Dawn of Souls walkthrough to be deleted. I feel like plagiarizing a great webcomic with my terrible humor, and I like to right this wrong. Can you help me? MechaKaiser, who else? (talk) 06:46, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

Nope, need an Admin's help. Doreiku Kuroofangu 08:00, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

Re: renders[edit source]

You're welcome. Also, I noticed you uploaded a bunch of Dissidia renders. I've found quite a few more, although some of them may be slightly redundant (not actual dups, but still similar). Should I go ahead and upload them (and tag with Cat:Dissidia/Dissidia 012 Render Images)? --Shockstorm (talk) 03:13, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

What ones do you mean? Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:03, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Examples of what I've found: 1 2. Mostly Kain, Ultimecia, Sephiroth, and Yuna. Not sure if that answers your question. --Shockstorm (talk) 17:14, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Hm, nah, we don't need them then, one render for all of them is fine. In a round-about way, if you could ever find them there's new versions would could use. We use "official" renders from the websites where we have them and they look different to the others (compare Lightning's EX Mode render from a website to her in-game render from a model viewer to see the different in quality), and they often come in unique poses. As seen here, everyone has an "official" render for their alt-outfit EX Mode. If they can be found anywhere, if they exist even since I never knew of them until the Ultimania, we could use them in place of our current renders. Just a thought. FF13-3[edit source]

Hey you do a lot of updates around here. Please inform somebody or do so yourself but the new game informer magazine has a page about FF13-3 and shows a mysterious white haired women. That image needs to be here on the FF wiki so people can see. Also some more detail is listed but we have to wait til August 1st when they talk about the lightning project and stuff. 75.139.62.0 17:57, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Re: FF8[edit source]

Sure. The problem is that I don't have a consistent source since I find them kinda randomly, but I'll see what I can do. --Shockstorm (talk) 18:17, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

XI Weapons[edit source]

The other categories of weapon to do are Dagger, Great Axes, Great Katanas, Great Swords, Hand-to-Hand, Katanas, Bows, Polearms, Scythes, Staves, and Swords. Throwing isn't divided like it is on the Wiki, nor is Marksmanship, if we wanted to keep them separate.

There are a couple of other things you could additionally do to lighten my workload, if you're willing; the sections with descriptions and jobs seem to not have been centered, and if you could make sure they are I'd appreciate that. Additionally, I know the Clubs page didn't have it, but we've been using images to display Rare/EX and the Moogle thing as well; File:FFXI rare.png is for rare, File:FFXI ex.png is for EX, and File:FFXI aug.png is for augmented equipment, as I'm sure you were aware. Finally, and this is the most labor intensive one, for weapons that have an elemental affinity, I've been linking the element with a link to its proper element page, since we have pictures for all of the XI elements. Unfortunately, they're not all in the same file format. (I was new on the block back then, I just knew how to save images from one place and upload them into another ._.) However, they do all follow the same basic format: File:FFXI <element> Element.format. So, you can just type in File:FFXI <element> and one of the options should complete to what I just mentioned. And then I add this hover description and the link, so the end result looks similar to this: , or Light Element Affinity. If you're not willing to do all that for the image, I understand, I just figured I'd ask. Thanks for the help. Jimcloud 04:23, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Videos[edit source]

I'm not for debating it or discussing it, I will merely say that the wiki's policies encourages the embedding of videos and if this has changed that page should be updated to reflect this. - Wagnike2 (talk) 23:17, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

 • The Manual of Style has a whole section about Embedding Videos, hence why I was under the impression that it'd be ok to do so. But if they aren't desired, I will respect your wishes. - Wagnike2 (talk) 23:24, August 14, 2012 (UTC)

Kefka/Shadow/Gau Enemy Page[edit source]

Hello Drake (by the way, did you take this username from the the dummy out character named Drake within FFVI?). Back to my question I wanted to ask you since I don't know who to turn to. Shouldn't Kefka (Imperial Camp/Sealed Gate), Shadow (Coliseum), and Gau (Veldt) get an enemy page? They have a battle script, HP and stuff. I'm pointing this out because Kain and Edward, along with a few others gets a page. Fenrir9 (talk) 14:22, August 15, 2012 (UTC)

One thing to note is they don't usually have names. The enemy list is usually blank.
But as a target in a battle they should have a page. 79.69.202.171 14:25, August 15, 2012 (UTC)
Kefka can be added to his current page, and Gau, yeah. If you have the stats to fill in the table I can make the page.
As for the name, made it up when I was a teenager and in my dragon-obsession phase. Nowawdays it just makes for ease of recognition on-line, I've used it so often it's helped me be known across different sites. Doreiku Kuroofangu 14:58, August 15, 2012 (UTC)
Gau and Shadow's stats varies as they are your party members, their stats depends on the player. For Kefka's stats, I've written them down on his page. I did not check the FFVI enemy template for what is required, but I do know that Kefka/Shadow/Gau's HP/MP varies depending on your level (Level Averaging).
I did a low playthrough once, and manage to KO Kefka with Shadow's Shuriken in the Imperial Camp. Kefka got up and did his skit. In a level 99 playthrough, Sabin physically attack him and dealt around 5000-6000 or so damage and it didn't kill him and he preform his skit. I retried the battle, and I did the Phantom Rush this time and it dealt 9999 points of damage and KO's him, he got up and did his skit. Shadow doesn't come with any equipment and doesn't fight with any equipment in the coliseum (Shadow is too easy to recruit).
Gau on the other hand is totally different, he uses his equipment. I remember accidentally attacking Gau and he block with his equipped shield from one of my party member's attack. I don't remember, but when you level up your characters. Does it increase the Attack Power (stat shown under the equipment) and Defense power (stat shown in equipment) in their equipment? I should test this, because if the number for a level 1 Shadow is the same for a level 99 Shadow with no equipment equipped. We have stats for Shadow's page. As for Gau, well his stats will vary because of the multiple types of equipment he can equip. Fenrir9 (talk) 14:13, August 16, 2012 (UTC)

I'll add the tabs to Kefka pages for his stats. While I work, is it just Gau who needs a page, or Gau and Shadow? Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:18, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Tabs added, blank spots to fill though. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:42, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Shadow and Gau needs a page, both can be fought. Fenrir9 (talk) 04:44, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Before I go to bed, I've seen Gau's page. Would it be better if it were Gau (Opponent) as well as Shadow (Opponent)? Edit: I'll fill in the blanks tomorrow. Fenrir9 (talk) 04:54, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Eh, I think its best to be consistent, but yeah the tags are vague in this area, wasn't sure myself if it should be Enemy or Boss. I'm gonna go with Enemy for Gau since he's kinda recurring, and Boss for Shadow since he is faced under boss-like circumstances. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:59, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

Opinion~[edit source]

ACRudeBox.PNG

Looks good to me. The only thing I could think is the Appearance section on a lot of jobs are short as-is currently, but not much to do for that. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:23, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

ACRudeBox.PNG

Well, the Tactics ones have the issue that they don't have pages for the Skillsets, as far as I'm aware. FF5 does so yeah, linking to the page for them should be enough. Doreiku Kuroofangu 05:32, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

ACRudeBox.PNG

I don't know then, I don't know Tactics and don't have any interest in how their pages are run, to be honest. If you want to put the skillset on the pages, then go ahead I guess, I have no real opinion on it.

I would say they can be deleted. The point of both images and videos is to demonstrate the article subject, so if we have one we kinda don't need the other.

Final fantasy 6 weapons[edit source]

Hi! Yes, I agree that in the end my edit to the weapons page didn't add much, but after the time I spent doing it I wanted to leave it for a few minutes at least :-) About the relics: I would leave the separate headers, and remove the characters column in all except the "many characters" section, writing a line at the top of the section where necessary. It was my plan, but I got interrupted. Check if you like it now. --Abacos (talk) 17:50, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Transparency[edit source]

All those new transparent versions look great!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:45, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. I've been meaning to check the other models too, but based on my experiences with them, the anti-aliases on the edges might not like the grey going away. Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:07, October 4, 2012 (UTC)
And sadly I was right. :( Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:10, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

Love the new After Years transparent artworks. Our wiki has all the best pics online now. 8)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:53, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. The Kain one bugs me a bit, but can't upload what the websites don't have. :( Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:56, October 12, 2012 (UTC)
What Kain one? The "Holy Dragoon" Kain doesn't have a transparent version? I think they are stunning anyway, look how Golbez's hair and cape just fade into transparency. Oooh.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:51, October 12, 2012 (UTC)
Dark Kain's spear, that is. Actual Kain, I don't believe the websites host either his Hooded Man or Holy Dragoon art, alas. Doreiku Kuroofangu 03:04, October 12, 2012 (UTC)

Red XIII - Name Meaning[edit source]

Hey, Drake Clawfang, can you take a look at this? Shockstorm is on me again, due to the name meaning. As one of the top-ranking users here, I hope you can help with this issue. You know I'm a minor editor here, so I don't want to get into a trivial fight. By the way, hope to you see around the KH Wiki more. :)--NinjaSheik 01:20, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

If you came looking for someone to take your side, keep looking, I agree with Shock and Cat, if the name is derivative then there's no reason not to note the meaning of the original name - see also Tifa and Emperor Mateus. Doreiku Kuroofangu 01:23, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

Nah, that wasn't what I was aiming for, I just wanted your opinion. I don't really care about it, I'm just a minor editor here. Plus, the section was never elaborated before. I seem to recall something like this happened before, but it was reverted. I don't know exactly, my memory is fuzzy. Case is settled, then, so it's done. Whatever. I don't really care. Bye. Although I do hope to see you more around the KH Wiki. That was actually the real reason why I came here. I haven't seen you there since your talk of Kryten's page, so it got me worried you won't come back to the KH Wiki. But, it's your choice whether you want to come back or not. See ya.--NinjaSheik 01:35, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

I just moved on, not much for me at KHWiki - and Kryten's attitude of preferring no info to poorly worded info is just ridiculous. Doreiku Kuroofangu 01:38, October 18, 2012 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Hope you continue writing fanfics, though. I know you're an author, and the only one I read is from the Dissdia section, but you're awesome. And take it easy with Kryten. I can understand why he preferred no info than poorly written info. In actuality, we keep the poorly written and just hide it until it's written properly. The info is still there, just hidden. But we all have our preferences for wikis. I can understand that. It's too bad. You used to edit on the old KH Wiki, and then the new one. Kind of weird not seeing you around anymore, but farewell. Thanks for all your help.--NinjaSheik 01:42, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

FFIV Bow and Arrow Collage[edit source]

I've just confirmed a few moments ago on my game that all arrows have the same color. The only thing that changes color were the bows themselves. The arrow's color looks like the arrow found on the Bow image (the first bow on the list). Now, I don't know where the original uploader got those colored arrows from, I've used Rosa's Aim along with various arrow and bow combination. I also tested on other bow users, the result were all the same. Since your good with handling and modifying images, would you mind fixing and re-uploading all bows without the arrows on them. Upload one arrow (the arrow from the first bow). This can be done when you have the chance. Fenrir9 (talk) 20:40, October 21, 2012 (UTC)

Sure, I'm not busy, can do it now. :) Doreiku Kuroofangu 21:24, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
Waoh, what happened to all the arrows? Fenrir9 (talk) 22:23, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
What do you mean? I merged them onto the bow images since you said they were the same color. Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:25, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
Nope, quite the contrary. Quote from above: "Since your good with handling and modifying images, would you mind fixing and re-uploading all bows without the arrows on them (I ment the PSP images). Upload one arrow (the arrow from the first bow)." I mean the PSP arrows to be cut from the bow images, then upload a single arrow from the Bow weapon (PSP image - first weapon) to be uploaded in all PSP section for arrows since they are all the same color (PSP all same color). Fenrir9 (talk) 22:30, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
So, wait. All arrows in the PSP version, regardless of the type of bow or arrow combination used, have the same sprite?...then where the hell did the rest of the ones we have come from? Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:34, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
SNES version have their own palettes for each arrows. PSP arrows all have the same palette, regardless of bow being used. Fenrir9 (talk) 22:41, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
Hm, alright then, sorry for being a derp :p. Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:43, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
Also, if you ever wanna download Gimp to do some of the image stuff like this yourself, I could tell you how to use it. It's very simple. Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:44, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
Is there a guide somewhere on how to use this Gimp? Fenrir9 (talk) 22:46, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
I've found user-made tutorials on-line by just typing stuff into Google ("how to make outlined text in Gimp", etc). Adding transparency and cropping out stuff from an image is easy - copy your image into Gimp, right-click on the layer box on the right, Add Alpha Channel, click the Fuzzy Select Tool in the toolbar (fourth on the top row), then click and hit Delete. To delete stuff you can just use the other Select tools and do the same, and when you're done, Rectangle Select what you want the image to be, then Image -> Fit Canvas To Selection to shrink it down to that size.
About all that Gimp does not do, properly anyway, is size-up small images, it distorts them, but Paint does that just fine and then I just copy it over. It can even make gifs, though off the top of my head I don't remember how, I have found tutorials on such and been able to make a few successfully Doreiku Kuroofangu 22:52, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
Cool, thanks. I'll either try this later tonight or tomorrow during the day. There are a few images I wanted put transparency in them, so I hope I can do it myself. Thanks again. Fenrir9 (talk) 23:30, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
No problem, you have any difficulties or questions just drop me a line. Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:33, October 21, 2012 (UTC)

Gimp[edit source]

Thanks for the info, I've been using it and I'm fairly confident with it now. But before I upload anything, I need to ask...you know, how sometimes, when you delete the background, the object or character is left with a bit of a white border round it/them? I found that you can move the object around to remove this, but it also makes the edges all pixellated, which we don't want. Is there any other alternative to remving this border left over from the background, as I'm worried it will show up against our new black background. Tia-LewiseDorky Face FF7.png 09:37, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

No, nothing really to do, it's often a leftover of jpg or just general not-having transparency. The only way I know of to make it better is to select the transparent areas, then go Select - Grow by 1 pixel, then click on the Feathered Edges box and hit Delete. This gives an effect like this, but it's by no means perfect. If it's an image we really could use a transparent version of, I guess go ahead, but slap an "update image" template on it like Porom has. Doreiku Kuroofangu 11:13, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

FFLII[edit source]

I don't know where else to turn to, but since I want to start getting some pages up along with some tables for the game. I'll be needing #1 - a color for the game (example - FFLIII is purple), #2 - table color for a and b (think weapon/armor/spell tables such as FFIVa and FFIVb), and #3 a basic template for {FFL2}} (I left a { out of the phrase so that template doesn't appear on your talk page when created). Do you know where I go for these things or who to ask to get the colors and such? Fenrir9 (talk) 04:56, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

The Manual of Style talk page or a forum would be your best bets. Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:58, December 11, 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism[edit source]

Hey, I'm relatively new here and I'm just writing because I was wandering what are the possible actions that can be taken when dealing with vandals. I noticed that the pages for Final Fantasy VII, VIII and Black Materia for instance have had quite a lot of vandal edits lately. The person even started persecuting a user who was helping reverting those edits, by vandalising his userpage. In situations like this all the wiki can do is revert the vandal edits? Or is it possible to block an IP or something like that? It's my first time seeing something like this on the wiki, so maybe I'm just surprised at how far someone is willing to go just for the sake of trolling. Well, this IS the internet, so I should have known... SetzerLeonhart (talk) 14:36, December 28, 2012 (UTC)

Until Drake replies, we have a Vandalism and Good Faith policy and you can can read it here. Only admins are capable of blocking users and IPs but if there aren't any about, you can go to wikia's Volunteer Spam Task Force (VTSF). Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 14:50, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
