Aerith's page Edit

I won't argue eternally over this, but I'll just paste what I told another contributor who eventually got my point as to why "combat abilities" is not accurate. I hope you'll take it under consideration.

"Her combat abilities are limited" is far too vague, and quite wrong actually.

1.As every other party member, she has 4 limit breaks.

2.She has a "normal" stat growth despite leaving after disc 1, and will have her strenghs and weaknesses just like any other character (see for proof).

3.If you decide to compare her solely on disc 1, then she is just as viable as any other character. She even gets the edge seeing as she is by far the most competent with magic, and magic tends to deal more damage than physical attacks in FFVII, but this is debatable.

4.If you decide to compare her overall, then assuming that she would be usable during the whole game, then again, the statement above applies, especially since magic gets more and more powerful as the game goes on.(But other characters compensate by having damage-dealing limit breaks)

Therefore, her combat abilities are not limited, the character itself isn't usable after disc 1, but through this disc, she is as good as anyone else, and for some reason she was programmed to keep up if she was to be around longer. I don't know if you played FFIX, but by definition Aerith has no limitations unlike, for example, Beatrix who couldn't enter trance and couldn't use any support abilites.

She could have had just 1 limit break, or her stats could have maxed out earlier( like Tellah's MP in FFIV for example), but they don't, do they? Do you see my point? The term "limitation" or "limited" associated with "combat abilities" is not good since she doesn't have any, unlike other past Final Fantasy characters as mentionned earlier.

However, she DOES have less powerful weapons than the other party members, and no matter how you see it, she won't ever be able to get stronger weapons than the princess guard, hence my initial edit. My bad, forgot to sign Badag (talk) 15:19, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Sign your posts, Badag. Keltainentoukokuu is a moderator and thus she has more of an idea of what content should be on the article and what shouldn't be. Try not to drag this out, we've seen many disagreements go on forever without reaching a conclusion. EDIT- Also, Espritduo undid your edit, not Kelt, she was tidying stuff up. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 14:55, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
You're answering to a wrong person. I think the statement is meant to mean that the use of leveling up Aeris is limited because you can't keep her in your party past disk 1, and she would thus still take a spot from your party that could be used for someone else who you can keep for a whole game. If you're not into grinding you are only going to learn so many Limit Breaks and is it worth teaching them to her then. Maybe it is worded a bit weirdly though.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:15, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the ios category...I wanted to establish one before but...s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 10:08, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

That's not what I meant. I thought that since there was no difference in the iOs and DS graphics, there was no need, so if I created one, people would want to delete it. Anyways. Oh umm you have FFIV for ipod? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 13:58, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
There is difference in the graphics.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 14:30, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
That's why I'm uploading them. Hmm, is it really useful for the wiki in your opinion? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 14:54, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
They are very nice and crisp. :) I like them. They are superior to the DS version images and could be used for character and location articles. As for the spells and abilities, I am not sure should we keep both the DS version and the iOS version images separately (and use both in the image galleries). The interface is slightly different after all. I think you may want to upload those separately just to be sure.
I haven't got the iOS version myself. I am not in this smartphone thing at all yet! Touch screen puts me off. It's ok but can't see it ever being as precise as buttons. I have a Nokia dumbphone that probably will last forever, you know those old things that never break. :D Husband has a smartphone and it is pretty shiny though... Guess I could try some games on his phone. You know. For the good of the wiki. ;)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:23, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

In my opinion, the battle and spell images should be kept too. As you said, the interface is completely different. As for spells, the iOs graphics are worlds better. Maybe in the future the DS ones will get deleted (the summon images, the spells) Yep, the graphics are a million times better in everything (and this is just the ipod version, what more if you have the one for iPAD). (Dumbphone XD) And yes you are right. The touch system is really annoying when you're paranoid in the middle of the boss fight, especially when scrolling down your Inventory. I'm still used to the PSP controls, I really miss it... (You're married? That's awesome! You know, not a lot of wikians I know are married. He's a gamer too? If I'm not being too nosy..) s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 16:59, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah we met at a Final Fantasy fansite. :DDDDDDD I lived in Finland and he lived in the UK and then I went to Sheffield for an exchange student for a year when he went to uni there. Then I was supposed to go back to Finland after my year and do my last year at uni... but instead dropped out and moved here permanently! This was 2005-2006. Guess it sounds like a pretty shitty decision but never regretted it. Got married at 2007. So. Six years this year!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:09, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Wow. You are married. That's the cool thing about it. I know this is really random but hey do you like yaoi~? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 17:52, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

FFIV Enemy Abilities Gallery Edit

Should we add in an iOs section? I don't think upgrading the DS shots are good...the interface is completely different. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 16:22, April 10, 2013 (UTC)

You said the stats tables go beneath the infobox? I've made tweaks, so the issue might have been resolved, but is it still not working for you? JBed (talk) 21:39, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Sheep Edit

I had no idea we had a sheep article! Thanks for putting the image in ^_^ Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 23:47, April 18, 2013 (UTC)

Np. That article is a bit obscure but looks like sheep have a role in FFXI so they get an article. That FFIX sheep is too cute! Maybe they were supposed to be in Dali or something.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:58, April 18, 2013 (UTC)

Opinion Please Edit

Help Please Edit

I'm creating the article for Dragoon (boss) - the wiki doesn't have it yet. How the hell do I do the tables? I'm looking at the articles for Girl, Bard, and Dark Knight, but I don't have the slightest idea what the hell I should please, lovely Kelt? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 16:13, April 22, 2013 (UTC)~

So that we don't need to do the code again for each page, the wiki uses templates that generates the infobox the way we want it, and all you need to do is fill in the stats. Every game has a different template for the enemy infobox. Look at the code for enemies of the same game to see how they work. I don't know which game you refer to, but I assume FFIV? You can use a sandbox and copy an infobox there and then play around with it to see what happens if you change the stuff in the code. Project:Sandsea is a general sandbox that you can use.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:24, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

It's FFIV. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 07:30, April 23, 2013 (UTC)

 ? Edit

You pngified the Dragoon file I uploaded? You did the work? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 09:31, April 24, 2013 (UTC)

If I see files uploaded without a transparent background I try make them transparent if possible.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:45, April 24, 2013 (UTC)
You never told me you could pngify stuff! So I don't have to keep bugging Esprit! You know, I really don't want to bug him unnecessarily, he appears to be a very busy guy, scanning and all that, plus I have to help him with the FFIV ios bestiary. So can I turn to you, then, for the non-bestiary stuff I need pngified? :3 s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 15:32, April 24, 2013 (UTC)
The only thing I can do is to select the background with the magic wand tool and press delete. If it needs more work than that you are probably out of luck with me! I'll do the ones I know I can do when they pop up in the Recent Images feed.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:37, April 24, 2013 (UTC)
A pity I do not have Photoshop. No, Dragoon was done well, it needs nothing more than that~ So, do you mind doing some more character renders? I've been wanting to update the DS renders with the iOS ones - the DS renders are fugly...I'll upload something for you...s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 16:21, April 24, 2013 (UTC)

"Nice allusion"Edit

I don't want to sound rude or something, but are you being sarcastic with that "nice allusion" thing and 3s and 9s in HP of Tonberries from FFV and FFXIII-2? Kinda trivial question, but I'm eager to know.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 15:57, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Hiroyuki Ito page Edit

Hello. I saw your message about renaming the Hiroyuki Ito page. Thanks for the info.

If you don't mind, can you update his profile photo with this photo. I tried to upload it but it says only members can upload images and I want to remain anonymous. Thanks in advance. :-) 21:42, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah sure. What are you his biggest fan or what. ;)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:06, May 6, 2013 (UTC)
Hello. I've seen that you've added the photo. Huge thanks for doing it! Also, yes, I'm a big fan of his work. I only found out about him a few years ago when I noticed that FFXIII played nothing like FFXII. I wanted to know why and discovered that different teams made the two games. FFXII is my fave FF game and FFIX is my second fave so I really like his work as director. I really hope he's directing FFXV. Regards. :-) 12:56, May 6, 2013 (UTC)

FFIV Level-Up Victory Poses Edit

In the victory page, FFIV's ds section mentions each character's victory pose - do you think we should add in their level-up poses? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 09:11, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

And also by the way, I've been reading the FFIV DS Developer's Office page - I've noticed that there are lot of differences. Should we just add the differences in, or make a new page for the iOS developer's office? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 09:59, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

I think we should make a new page, if it is very different. :) I should think it would be more user-friendly that way. Can still link to the DS version in the intro, saying like the iOS version office is based on the DS one but it has numerous changes...lalala. If other games have victory poses on that article then FFIV could have them too.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 11:59, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
I meant the level-up ones ^__^ All the plain ones are listed from every game. Okay then, should the pictures be separate as well? The staff took different forms in the ios. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 12:49, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Well why not? :D More content is always more content. They could also go to the Level article that talks about leveling up?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:20, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm...I think for the poses, they should go to the Victory Pose page...I'd be happy to upload the iOS level-up screen for FFIV, though. What about the Developers' Office images? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 14:57, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
If the Developer's Office looks different in the iOS version at all, then we can use them.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:04, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Only that the staff took different forms. Like, instead of a Bomb, it became a Baron Soldier, etc..but the rooms are the same. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 16:55, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

If the screenshots would look identical then there is little point in my opinion, but if the iOS screenshot brings anything extra to the table it is good especially if there will be an article specifically for the iOS version room. Use your own discretion, I have not played either version!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:19, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Oh well. Thanks anyway. s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 05:47, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

FFIX Motherload Coming Edit

Heya, Kelt! I just wanted to let you know I'm about to start uploading a shitstorm of FFIX Location Artwork , and I know you always tend to link everything without me asking you anyways, but this one's a bit ridiculous, so I thought I'd actually ask if you could help me out. I'll link everything I can once I'm done, but anything anyone can do while I'm going nuts would help. Trying to organize this mess of location artwork has been a nightmare I've been putting off for way too long... Espritduo (talk) 00:55, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Love all your artwork. :) Keep 'em coming!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:56, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! With all that easy stuff artist-specific stuff from the neogaf thread out of the way, now it's time for the real meat of the location artwork. Whoopee! Espritduo (talk) 01:45, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Ya I saw, looks like they are all done now anyway! Espritduo is the best.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:46, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Prolly meant to be a lacrosse (as in the sport) racket. They always design more stuff that than what is ultimately included, seeing all the discarded designs is well interesting. Too bad armor isn't visible; I want to see the Southern Tropical Outfits set. :DKeltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:54, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Well Esprit said he's done with school for now so let's hope so. FFX has plenty discarded scenario that has been uploaded on the wiki already. Looks like the game was originally envisioned to having taken place during Zanarkand's time but then was moved to be 1000 years later. Lovin all the rare artwork.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:05, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Whoops, did I call that racket Lacrose somewhere? It should be Lacrosse, the sport. The name of the image is "Rakurosu CF" which would be Lacrosse CF. I assume CF is center field, as in, the racket is specifically a centerfielder's racket? I don't know jack squat about lacrosse, so I don't know if that makes sense. And yep, all that's left now for FFIX is the airship artwork, and it's onto book three and FFX, FFXI (which I have pretty much everything already here anyways), FFXII, FFXIII, and whatever little bit there is of FFXIV that we don't already have. No X-2 or XIII-2, though, I'm afraid. The 25th Memorial Ultimanias are strictly main series games only. Also, thanks for linking all that up. It really is a chore doing all that. Espritduo (talk) 03:31, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Was browsing through the DS section of FFIV's OST page. Unless this wiki forgot to document some tracks there, the iOS version has a different track listing and more additional tracks. For example, the ending theme wasn't divided into three, they were put together in one. I couldn't see "More Tears" in the DS section either. Aaand Tsuki no Akari wasn't in the iOS Music Box. What should we do? s̅̅s̅̅o̅̅r̅̅c̅̅̅̅e̅̅n̅̅i̅̅v̅̅i̅̅d̅̅ 13:03, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

The article is for the soundtrack release, not for the music from FFIV in general, therefore, any tracks that are not on the soundtrack will not be on the soundtrack article, even if they were in the game. If the iOS version has no soundtrack released there is no place to put info on its music, currently. The system could probably do with an overhaul but not too many people contribute to music articles here.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:06, May 21, 2013 (UTC)
Game music articles would make so much more sense. 13:12, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

FF12 Help Edit

Thanks for your help with the weapon images the other day. I hate to burden others but I have my hands full getting the images already, so I'm looking for help with the workload and you seem to be interested in helping. The old weapon images have said to be taken from a BG guide, and looking at them the guide obviously used the models, ergo the current images will be replaced. The issue is that a lot of them should be moved to new file names anyway, and it will make uploading the images much easier when it comes time.

So, moral of the story, would you be cool with moving the weapons in Category:Final Fantasy XII Weapon Images to new file names and fixing the links for me? The naming scheme I've been using is "FF12 Weapon - <weapon name>.png". Would help me so much compared to replacing them individually and then moving the ones that should be moved anyway :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 16:49, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

Majority of the images in that category appear to already been named after the weapon though?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:22, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
Um....huh? Drake Clawfang (talk) 17:25, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
What do you want moving? All of the files to follow the format "FF12 Weapon - <weapon name>.png"? Because that's a stupid idea. :D No way anyone wants to do that.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:27, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
It's stupid to have all the files follow one naming category so someone looking for one can get one easily and so when I upload the new images I can do it all at once rather than have to replace them one by one? Drake Clawfang (talk) 17:28, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
Catuse is going to do it, thank you anyway. Drake Clawfang (talk) 17:38, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
That's the kind of thing that really needs a bot to do it. Otherwise it'll be like 9hrs of work.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:41, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

A bot would be able to fix the redirects and such, but even if they could move files I don't think they can do this sort of work. Drake Clawfang (talk) 17:44, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

Since you recognized Reks's ring, happen to recognize this little trinket too? Drake Clawfang (talk) 12:52, June 27, 2013 (UTC)

A general thanks also for adding the images I'm uploading to the appropriate pages. As it stands now getting them onto the wiki is a full-time job itself (also I'm lazy) :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 20:30, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

If only one could get paid working here huh. :D Love all the renders; they're just amazing.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:34, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Aye, it's disappointing though when they don't have animations, like Ralser, so we have to settle for the stupid T-pose. I got Cid's model where he has his cinematic gatling gun, but alas he doesn't pose with it :( Drake Clawfang (talk) 20:42, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
That Rasler model is interesting because he only ever appears as a ghost. Guess they do that with some kinda effect over the model, rather than having a separate ghost model?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:46, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Probably. Dissidia has taught me visual effects are rarely applied to the models, FF12 appears to be the same. Drake Clawfang (talk) 20:48, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

I'm uploading a batch of enemy renders, many more to come. The problem is that many of the enemy renders, particularly the Undead, look alike, so I'm quite certain I've misnamed some of them. If so then yeah, of course move them, I'm having trouble identifying stuff obviously. If you add them to the pages (you're under no obligation of course but this would help me), could you add the new images to the List of Enemies page too plz, that way I can try and look for what we're missing to find out what a handful of mystery models I have are. Drake Clawfang (talk) 01:13, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Good to know. :) The zombie monsters and skeletons do indeed look samey as hell.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:18, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, and there's in-game effects so models may not be recognizable. Like, there's two enemies, the Pisceodemon and something else, floating little things in cloaks with staves. I have two models like that but I dunno which is which because neither looks like the images on their pages. Same with the chests I just uploaded, I'm sure some of them are surely Mimics, but I could only identify one. Drake Clawfang (talk) 01:27, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

I don't remember that red treasure urn at all, either as treasure or mimic. And "Pandora" mimic is like a rainbow-colored urn and I don't see that one in the uploaded ones. Maybe that's done with effects then. I think some zombies have like mist or something seething off them too, which would make them harder to distinguish.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:31, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Nah it's the Pandora that is the red urn. They added the psychelic colours on top.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:34, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah they have to have added effects the models don't show. I just found, shall we say, the game's ultimate giant treasure urn ;), and I definitely don't remember it being bright purple in-game. Drake Clawfang (talk) 01:39, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Also just neat thing to share - the airship Air Cutter Remora you fight in the prologue? There's three models of them so far, one is the one we meet, the second has more silver colorings, and the third is red and black. Go figure. Drake Clawfang (talk) 02:12, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Dr Cid uses an Air Cutter Remora-like device to escape from you at Draklor. I don't remember where else you might see them to justify many models.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:14, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Ah yes, forgot about that, checked YouTube and yup, that's where the red one comes from. Drake Clawfang (talk) 02:22, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Never really thought about how creepy these headless monsters actually are. Wtfff is this thing.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:20, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Tell me about it. The Overlord looks like its armor and club are stained in blood... Drake Clawfang (talk) 02:22, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Okay at last I got off my lazy ass and have mostly finished them - at least my folder of renders is empty. I've got some unidentified enemies to look through as well as problem models who didn't want to work, and I'm gonna look at the rare game and other enemies to see which ones reuse models, but yeah, for the immediate future this is the last big batch. Thanks once again for helping me with all these :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 16:26, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

I've heard others having issues with the logo, but reasons for some things not working don't make sense to me.

If on Firefox, load a page where the logo doesn't work and hit Ctrl+Shift+J. If on Chrome, load a page and hit Ctrl+Shift+I and go to Console. Print screen and I'll see if I can find an error. JBed (talk) 08:47, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Wow I get about a thousand errors. It's just this over and over again. I assume slot1.images is the logo then. Some other errors near the end of the log. HODfr1n.png Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 11:41, July 11, 2013 (UTC)
*shrugs*. Nothing in there comes from the wiki's JS. Sometimes there is broken CSS, like you see, but it tends to occur alongside a Wikia glitch. trackmenot.js has nothing to do with the wiki, so if that is the issue would be on your side. Check back in a week if the logo still isn't displaying. JBed (talk) 17:47, July 11, 2013 (UTC)

Talk template Edit

Hey Kelt, the image on your talk template appears to be gone and has been replaced with a big obnoxious imageshack error picture. Just a heads up. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 03:03, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

I know it's not really my place to but in, but I'd recommend just switching to Photobucket. My history with Imageshack has been horrid. COOLAWITS ~TALK | YFC | XVI | DQFF~ 08:19, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah Imageshack is down, or "we are experiencing technical difficulties, some of your images may not be displayed but we are working to restore them asap". Imgur is the best image host but dunno if Wikia supports them. Never liked Photobucket.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 12:03, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Wikia should support anything that doesn't employ hotlink blocking, considering how external images work. Imgur should be fine. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 12:10, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Moving Pages Edit

if there's any more pages you're moving, lemme know and I can have DrakeyBot take care of it :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 16:58, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Lots of them really! But Bahamut (Final Fantasy IV Boss) is the last FF4 summon/boss.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:27, July 23, 2013 (UTC)
Check, I'll move that one then and any future ones, lemme know on my talk. I have an entire section for people to leave me work for DrakeyBot to do and no one has ever used it :p Drake Clawfang (talk) 17:59, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

I noticed that the Bobby Corwen page was completely trolled over by some anon idiot and I tried my best to re-edit it, but I don't think it worked very well - I also saw on the history that you seemed to have reverted it back to it's original, but either it didn't work or I didn't load your version - so, I am leaving a message here to tell you about it since you're the only one who seemed to have noticed (I think). I used to be a somewhat active here a few years ago, but I have completely forgotten any and all of my details lol sorry! 21:40, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

Ah thanks for the notice. Didn't really know what was going on with that article just there!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:27, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

Obligatory girly picture post Edit

I love your newest image ^_^ the dress is beautiful, that sort of thing just doesn't suit me. I'm a black lover through and through. :P Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 17:26, August 10, 2013 (UTC)

*squee* Girly picture posts. :D Yeah I dress in white and ivory and earth tones and powder pink and sky blue. Strong colours fit people with more contrast in hair colour (dark hair or platinum blonde) or darker skin, though can always spice things up with colourful nails or something. Colourful hairbands. :D Isn't summer great. Black def looks good on you.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:40, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
I recently chopped off my bangs; regret it as I now have some sort of mushroom on top of my head now. Need a new style. My hair's now Daenerys Targaryen blonde, like, white. So the red lips don't suit so much anymore, but the black has stayed xD Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 17:53, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
Lol at the idea of a mushroom hairdo. :D Hahaha. That hair colour sounds epic though. Wear it with purple makeup. :DKeltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:38, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
O.O You have reminded me of the purple lipstick buried at the bottom of my makeup bag. I shall be putting that to good use. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 23:40, August 10, 2013 (UTC)

Ragnarok At Esthar before Lunar Cry Image Edit

Hai! I love that image of Ragnarok at Esthar Airstation with the blue sky behind it from the debug menu! I would be interested in having it as a background, does the image come any bigger than the size which you uploaded it? Thanks Bailo26

The backgrounds for the PS era FF games are not all that large, as they were meant to be viewed on SD TV, and were not upscaled at all for the PC ports either. So I doubt any bigger versions exist anywhere. Too bad! User:JBed has uploaded all the original backgrounds for FFVII and FFIX, and those are the true sizes. See Category:Final Fantasy VII Location Images, Category:Final Fantasy VIII Location Images and Category:Final Fantasy IX Location Images for all the pre-rendered backgrounds on the wiki. :) FFIX is the only one that has some large versions of the backgrounds as some of the individual artists who made them have the original large versions in their online portfolios, but have never seen that for FFVIII.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 03:25, August 12, 2013 (UTC)
That's a shame :/. Thankyou very much for your super quick response and help!!

Zantetsuken Edit

I think you misunderstood the purpose of the Zantetsuken page. It's for the specific incarnation of the weapon that appeared in FF13 and its related appearances. The ability of the same name, and Gilgamesh's Zantetsuken not based on the FF13 Zantetsuken, should stay on the parent pages. Drake Clawfang (talk) 00:49, August 16, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah the ability info should stay in the parent page (though I figured it could be mentioned as the attack is named after the weapon, right), but I thought the FFXIII-2 Gilgamesh's fake Zantetsuken is made after the FFXIII Zantetsuken? Since it's from Dissidia...and thus from Lightning? Actually I didn't really pay attention to what they look like, if they look at all similar.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:55, August 16, 2013 (UTC)
Gilgamesh's is the larger purple sword shaped like the more typical Zantetsuken and is said to be one of Chaos's nails or talons or something. Drake Clawfang (talk) 00:56, August 16, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah I see now it looks like Odin's Zantetsuken from the other games. Guess Odin appears as a summon in Dissidia, so it's not just Lightning-specific weapon in Dissidia universe either. I thought some weaponsmith like carved the spike into a sword, but maybe Chaos just sheds swords, who knows. :DKeltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:13, August 16, 2013 (UTC)

Ancient Ruins Edit

Hi Kelt! You might have noticed I've been redoing the shop tables across Final Fantasy III's locations for consistency, using a NES guide for help as some tables didn't have the info, but when I got to the Ancient Ruins page I noticed that with the Item table it said these were "Nintendo DS" only. Having a flick through the history I noticed you'd written it, so I just want to show you the guide I've been using- (due to the way it's set out when you CTRL+F you need to put A N C I E N T... you get me) and let you know I'm not mercilessly screwing with your edits, but I found that the NES version does indeed have an item shop. I think I may get myself the fan translation of III at some point so I can confirm all this. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 13:50, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

I have never actually played FFIII, any version, so I don't know where I got those shop lists. From the internet somewhere. I've also been struggling as what to call the remake version now when it's not just for DS anymore.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:59, August 18, 2013 (UTC)
"Remake" suits fine I think, as everything released overseas was a complete overhaul of the entire game. P.S- You're not missing out on much. I hated the DS version. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 14:02, August 18, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Image Categories Edit

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll remember in future. --Crystal Tear (talk) 08:53, September 5, 2013 (UTC)

Jessica DiCicco voices Lumina. This video shows it -->

A voice from a trailer does not confirm a voice actress for a role unless you can find a place that directly stated this voice actress is doing the role. Drake Clawfang (talk) 03:38, September 26, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah we'd need it in writing somewhere. It's because there has been some issues with this before, people guessing voice actors based on whatever, so it was decided that when info on a new voice actor is first added to the wiki, it should be able to be checked by anyone. I don't doubt it is actually her, seeing she's done voices for XIII and XIII-2 as well, so maybe time for a bigger role than NPCs, but it's just best not to add them based on nothing official.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 07:40, September 26, 2013 (UTC)

Twitter? Edit

Hello, ma'am! Hope you're doing great.

I was just wondering; do you have Twitter? Nothing personal, really. Just interested if you have a place where you constantly talk (tweet in this case) about Final Fantasy. I've read your rants/essays long ago and enjoyed them.

Thanks in advance. :) 20:15, September 29, 2013 (UTC)

We do indeed have a Twitter! The Wiki's page is @FFWiki Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 21:07, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
I don't have a personal Twitter account, but the wiki does have a Twitter like explained above. :)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:40, September 30, 2013 (UTC)

Kain Edit

Thanks Kelt, that looks a lot better now. However I still feel the left hand side look a bit cluttered; you can't really tell if Holy Dragoon Kain is in with the After Years section as it's been shoved aside by the image of Kain without his helmet in the ending of IV. Can we maybe move/remove just one more image? I think that would sort it. EDIT- Or that too, didn't think of that. Yay, thank you! Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 13:08, September 30, 2013 (UTC)

It looks like this in the default view. That Holy Dragoon Kain doesn't really need to be on the left anyway though... I try remember using the linebreaker-thingies because the sections are wider in Monobook.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:16, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
I try not to use Monobook. Also- Why were you listening to Gentleman?? xD Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 13:20, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
Lol I'm also learning about fascism it seems. :DKeltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:25, September 30, 2013 (UTC)

That's probably still most of them, as FFVIII & FFXIII don't have armor, and FFX & FFXII & the MMOs don't have armor artworks. I'm not gonna do it now but I'll try remember it later.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:47, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

Short note of thanks Edit

Thanks for helping to improve my Martial Arts page. DrowBlade (talk) 13:40, October 15, 2013 (UTC)

NP. When making a new page it should be categorised, and it should be added to the game's navigation template and have the navigation template on the article, and I forgot to do those things too.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 14:21, October 15, 2013 (UTC)

Xenoblade info on the Hiroyuki Ito page Edit

Hi. I'd just like to know why you think the info on Xenoblade doesn't belong on the Hiroyuki Ito page? The game was clearly inspired by the game design Ito created in Final Fantasy XII. By imitating said game design, it went on to become the most critically acclaimed console JRPG of this console generation (PS3/360/Wii). I think Ito deserves some praise in showing that he was taking JRPGs in the right direction with FFXII. Also, all the info is from verifiable sources. If you check the links I provided, all the Xenoblade reviews mention FFXII by name and how Xenoblade is similar to it. SQEX (talk) 02:38, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

It has to be from an official source, i.e. the Xenoblade makers saying it has been inspired by FFXII, and even then it would make a trivia point at best, better fitting for the FFXII article than the Ito article. FFXII itself is inspired by MMOs, and the 'paradigm shift' to that kind of gaming has influenced the industry as a whole; it's not so easy to claim specific games or persons as the solid inspirators, and the wiki shouldn't be making assertions that sound like opinion. You are adding quite a lot of stuff to the Ito page and some of it sounds like opinion. Readers will have to make their own judgements and opinions based on the bare facts, we can't just lay them out like that. You have to cut down on the embellishments.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:45, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the Color edit on the Field Music Sequence, I'll be doing the BMS and EMS later. BTW, VIII and XII are my favorite games too.

You can see all the colour codes (class codes for games) at the Manual of Style. :) Thanks for the tables!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 18:30, October 23, 2013 (UTC)
Hihi Kelt, I'm not that great with tables but I know we don't use Wikitable, any chance you could fiddle with Battle Music Sequence like you did for Field Music? Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:27, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

FFX HD ScreenshotsEdit

Hi, Kelt. Where do you get these FFX HD images you're uploading at the moment? Are they official screenshots or taken from a video? I ask because they're JPGs and as you may know JPGs tend to be of worse quality than PNGs. All that I ask is to try to upload PNGs whenever possible. I will make an account... at some point! Although I do not think it is needed, as I do not have so much time (work, family and rpg is a tough combination). It is the first (and maybe it will not be a second) time I edited and that because I just played it again now. But did not see enough explanation, removing something that was right. In the end, some things were accepted. Anyway, it is not a big matter to make a fuss and this thing is over. I just saw a Finnish nickname and found excuse to practice my Finnish! (although in the end I was ashamed to, as my Finnish would be a joke) :P Greetings from Kuopio!

NP. Always nice to see people who see my name isn't just letter-vomit. ;) You can make a proper signature by typing ~~~~ at the end of your message. It will sign the post with your IP if you don't have an account. Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 03:09, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

References Edit

LazyTown definitely wasn't around at the time of FFV! Of course, this could be port dependent, but I don't think the pirate song is a LazyTown reference. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:44, November 12, 2013 (UTC)

The references were only added to the GBA re-translation, so that would be 2006. Sound okay? Guess that should be more clear in the allusions page that they are all in the GBA/iOS version only.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:49, November 12, 2013 (UTC)
A quick check shows LazyTown started around 2004. Yep, that's fine then. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:54, November 12, 2013 (UTC)

Help Request Edit

Hey Keltain, I was wondering if you could help me with the layout in Gladiators' Hall for the obtainable rewards from the Adamant Gear Vendor and the Ω Weapon's Reward Room. Serah Farron image Edit

As to why i reduced the size, it was misbehaving earlier that that was the only way to get it back to a reasonable size. It was stretching down into the section dedicated to the character's appearance in XIII-2. But that trouble seems to have passed. Sorry if I caused any inconvenience. --Crystal Tear (talk) 15:51, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

That one was a fine change, I saw it looking weird earlier too; it was because a newer version with no empty space was uploaded. Images that are tall rather than wide work with smaller width.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:57, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

Starseeker requires one more weapon appearance before we can make it into a fully-fledged article.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:42, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

Well there's FFXIII-2, Airborne Brigade and FFXIV, and is Serah's weapon in Theatrhythm iOS port. Also Starseeker is actually Mog, so there's some story behind the weapon. I'd say it could be an article, just for being a 'relevant' weapon.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:49, November 24, 2013 (UTC)
This doesn't look like the Starseeker. I think it's an Indrajit.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:54, November 24, 2013 (UTC)

Help! Am I doing this right? :D I just wanted to say thanks for editing the Garif article with my info, I was scared to change it further. If you go to my profile on this wikia I have linked sources for both the Scenario Ultimania translation and the screencap of the War-chief's dialogue. If I could I would have uploaded the images or sourced them in another way, but I couldn't figure out how, and as I'm not really planning on doing a lot of edits I didn't want to spend a lot of time figuring out how to do it. I just wanted to let you know :D

Fangu (talk) 11:08, November 28, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. If you could provide the page number of where this is said in the Ultimania, that would be sufficient for a proper citation.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 11:13, November 28, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, a title! XD Edit

Oh thanks! It's page 92. I have both the Ultimania Omega and the Scenario Ultimania. I'm working on getting more of them translated, I'm really into the XII universe. Feel free to delete these posts ;)

Hi there, I have another FFXII question - I found the update that adds the info on an unused Cid/Balthier scene (old version: but it appears the user who added it isn't on the Wikia anymore. I was just wondering if you have any idea of where he or she sourced this from? I'd love to get my hands on the Japanese dialogue (if possible) - if I did I could have it translated.

Fangu (talk) 19:28, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

For dummied content, Fenrir is a great one to ask. We won't know where someone got their source from if they didn't provide one. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 19:31, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah it's impossible to know. If we don't know anyone reliable who's read the deleted scene we can't confirm.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:16, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks guys!! I've left them a message. Fangu (talk) 20:49, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

To be perfectly honest, I saw someone do the translation somewhere and ran through it myself to make sure. I'm quite sure that's what it says. Someone else can go through it again if there are any doubts. --Crystal Tear (talk) 21:22, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

The point Edit

The point was math; the table tells you how many to get for each of the loots, but I wanted to save the reader having to do the math so they could get all of the lower-tier loots before going to the bazaar. Jockstain (talk) 13:42, December 7, 2013 (UTC)

Ancient Forest Edit

Hey. Few days ago I added a small part of information about how the config works in Ancient Forest and what happens if you change the teleportation-button to do something else. Well, it seems that you've altered it a bit. I know, I'm not foreign english speaker (and neither you seem to be, mutta oot varmaan harjotellu englantia kauemmin niin osaat sitä paremmin :D) so it's understandable if one misunderstands what I write, but it's a shame because after you changed my part about going to menu or such is impossible, to your part about transporting to the beginning of the stage to be impossible. That, however, is mis-information :/ Or I don't know, you might have tested it on a PC-version or such and got a different result than me, but in my PS-version (PAL) it still lets me teleport to the beginning of the stage, it's just that I can't go to the menu or interact with anything. Whatever the case is, you've misunderstood me or have gotten a different result, please reply, and I'll know what's the matter. Because now I feel there really is false information on the wiki :/ Mr. T (talk) 06:37, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

(Ulkosuomalainen... :D) Sorry I must not have read it with my brain or something. Good now?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 11:36, December 10, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, now it looks great! Thanks :) Mr. T (talk) 05:57, December 13, 2013 (UTC)

A New World Edit

I'm so glad you made the article :) at the time the news came out (I found out a few minutes after it was announced on the official Facebook site and updated here straight away!) there wasn't much info, so thanks for being able to expand it. I wanna go :( unfortunately due to my work patterns I can't attend this time round, but I do hope it comes back and I can meet some Wikians again! Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 17:10, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

Wanna add the official Fabebook page to the external links? Maybe they have some promo images we could use? (I don't use Facebook.) Hope they'll have more concerts so you can attend. <3Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:19, December 12, 2013 (UTC)
That's a good idea. I'll do that now. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 18:28, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

Cleanup on Aisle Ito! Edit

We've discussed over at Talk:Hiroyuki Ito that the article really needs cutting down as it's completely bloated to multiple times the amount of information other Square staff have. Neither me nor Drake even know where to begin but Drake's said you have a good eye for this sort of thing; I don't suppose you could take a quick look at the talk page and then help us out? Thank you! :) Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 16:32, December 18, 2013 (UTC)

I've trimmed it before only for SQEX or whatever he is called to bloat it again. Basically I think those awards Ito has accepted should be just on the games' own articles (this game has won such and such award, rather than Ito has been the one to receive an award for such and such game).Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:37, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
He's been told now that a lot of it needs to go. I think that's enough to say he can get a warning if he starts to do it again. This makes me wonder why we didn't have any award stuff on game articles in the first place... Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 16:43, December 18, 2013 (UTC)

TAY Moving Edit

Any more you have to do today? I could set DrakeyBot to it to save you some work. :) Drake Clawfang (talk) 15:47, December 22, 2013 (UTC)

I think that's all of them now. Thanks though. <3Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:51, December 22, 2013 (UTC)

Re: ThumbEdit

Really? I didn't know that that "thumb" is actually 180px wide. Good to know. Also, I always do the introductory image 250px wide (at least as long as it's not making the image look inappropiately tall) and other images at 150px wide.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 20:34, December 24, 2013 (UTC)

Re: FFXIII vandal Edit

Think it's the proxy guy from before? Removing the criticism sections seems to indicate as much. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 03:36, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

It doesn't really matter. Just gotta revert all the bad faith edits if you see them. The reception sections could do with some sources though so its not without criticism.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 03:38, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Images

I'm glad that those images make you happy. I got them from FFXIII Larger than Life iOS app. There are still many high-quality images. SE should release like that in the future. Those artworks in Ultimania or artbooks are super-cropped >_<

Esthar - Contact Points Edit

Am I just dumb or do we have no info in Esthar's article as to where the contact points are for boarding Lunatic Pandora? As usual I got lost in Esthar xD and forgot if I was at a contact point or not, thought I'd look it up and can't find anything! Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:42, December 30, 2013 (UTC)

There is just one landing area in Esthar City, the airstation. That's like the opposite side from the palace and appears as an elevated circular area on the map. It would be useful to have a map of Esthar on-site but not sure where we'd get one.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:48, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure that answered me :P Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:51, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
Oh Lunatic Pandora. I was thinking Ragnarok. :D Well. Yeah that whole thing should have a little guide to it.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:55, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry if I confused you. I do find it odd that we have nothing on here! I'll work at getting it put in as soon as I can. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 20:56, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry if I edit-conflicted you. Added something but it's not the whole thing.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 21:07, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
You haven't conflicted anything :) I'm going to pick up some screenshots of the contact points soon-ish and pop them in as well along with the times needed to get there. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 21:11, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
That'd be epic. Also if we could have the enemy formations for the set battles that'd be super, as I think they are all different.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 21:13, December 30, 2013 (UTC)
As I have literally just passed this event - sorry! - I am using the Wiki's Let's Play :P the images I have got aren't great, I will admit, I can't remove the black round the corners, but they will do for placeholders for now, I think. As far as the set battles go, I boarded at the second point and I remember what I fought there, I'll see if the LP did it differently. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 21:35, December 30, 2013 (UTC)

FFX/-2 HD RemasterEdit

Are you the one who consistently writes "Final Fantasy X-2 HD remaster"? Remaster should actually be a world written in Capital as it appears in the game's full name.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 18:53, January 6, 2014 (UTC)

FFVI Android Edit

Have you got the new version then? It's incompatible with my phone so I can't play it, but the graphics have shocked me into staying the hell away in any case. How are you doing with it? Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 13:21, January 16, 2014 (UTC)

Nah I just got them from someone else's playthrough. I think the backgrounds look nice and the character portraits. The sprites are a bit...ehhh. Menus seem to have been designed for function over appearance. I hear they're good to use. I suppose that suffices. I don't really want to play FFVI again though. Not among my favourites.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:27, January 16, 2014 (UTC)
VI is one of my all time favourites and I'm quite upset by all these changes. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 16:26, January 16, 2014 (UTC)
I head FFVI and I got curious... and honestly, I've seen worse personally. I mean sure, the "mobile remake" sprite style can definitely wear on the eyes, but no major complaints from me (and hell, FFVI is the best of the series IMO). Lord Grammaticus (talk) 17:23, January 16, 2014 (UTC)
Espiers. That is all. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 17:29, January 16, 2014 (UTC)

Imperial FlagNB.png Edit

I would do it, but I don't have any program to do it with. Could you perhaps look into it? --CrappyScrap (talk) 23:58, January 22, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm well, I see the transparency on the file on my computer but not on the fileview after uploading, although that may be just slowness of updating the image.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:11, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Final Fantasy DimensionsEdit

Do we really need Enemy Formation" or can we just go with "Enemy list" or "Enemy"? It's really hard to list all kind of formations in each area in Final Fantasy Dimensions For example, I went around Glacial Cave (just create that page) for about an hour and my enemy formations list is still getting longer and longer. Ffleader1 (talk) 15:14, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

Enemy Formations list would be ideal, but I think an enemy list will do if you don't want to do the formations. Formations are tricky if there is no guide or a way to hack the game, because different screens can have their own formations etc.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:19, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

So how can you add a page to the FFD at the bottom? I need to add Gypsy as a non-playable character.Ffleader1 (talk) 14:10, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, so int the game, this boss is encountered 3 times. Can you help me make seperate tables (1st battle, 2nd battle, 3rd battle) or something. I really don't know how, and i can't finish it yet because i haven't got to the 3rd battle in game yet :p Ffleader1 (talk) 04:33, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

Does she look the same/samish in each battle? If so I think she'd need tabs, like Seifer (boss). If she is totally different in each battle then I think it'll go like Barthandelus (boss). The second option is easy, just use the same template more than once, but I don't know about tabs...if there is any other Dimensions enemy with tabs existing you can just copy how it is in their table. If there is no other enemy with tabs the tabbing thing may not have been coded into it yet, and I'm not going to know how that works.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 09:28, January 28, 2014 (UTC)
Right the enemy template seems to have a tabbing function. See here: :Template:FFD Enemy and it explains how to use the template. Looks like it's fairly straightforward. To tab it you just need to have all the same fields multiple times in the same template, but with numbers in front of the fields. (see how any other tabbed enemy's info is laid out in the edit view, such as Seifer (boss) there linked earlier) I have actually never made any enemy articles from scratch that I remember...Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 09:40, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

OK, I will give it a try laterFfleader1 (talk) 13:01, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

This guy can be encountered 4-5 times in the storyline. Try tried to add tab 4 but the margin doesn't look really good. I don't really want to mess it up a lot. Can you please fix the margin thanks :p Ffleader1 (talk) 06:44, February 6, 2014 (UTC)

Bosses with many encounters just need to have short names for the tabs, like see Caius Ballad (Final Fantasy XIII-2 Boss). I'm not sure how you want me to fix the margin?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 09:18, February 6, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry. The Vata page is now look like this
Line 1:1st Battle|2nd Battle|3rd
Line 2:Battle|4th Battle
Ffleader1 (talk) 02:23, February 7, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah I don't think that can be fixed. The tab names need to be shorter.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:37, February 7, 2014 (UTC)

So story sections of character pages only include the story of the character. And if a game later expands the story, well then the story section doesn't say this, right? The story section stays neutral of games or guide books the story comes from, except where we use headers that encompass the events (but then flashbacks wouldn't be featured under that header).

So how do we explain how characters have been expanded? I thought maybe that the Creation and Development section could be used for this. But it doesn't seem to be. It primarily comments on characters developed before they were featured in a title, not development of characters between titles.

We don't have an "Appearances" section in addition to the "Story" section to explain each character's role in the games. Character pages don't seem to very gameplay orientated. If NPCs seem to have sections on their page, then they will usually have a case-by-case named h2 for their sidequests or involvements.

So from what I believe the wiki does, I thought this would be a better revision. But that still doesn't exactly explain how Lucrecia's character and role developed between VII and DoC. And the description of the flashback manages to feel out of place in the section titled "Sidequest".

But I don't focus myself on character articles much. I figure you have more wisdom and experience on what would be better. How do you think Lucrecia's roles in the different games should be explained in the article? JBed (talk) 17:41, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, the character articles are tricky because they keep retconning stuff and gameplay and story are often so divorced.
I think story sections should be written from in-lore point of view as much as possible, rather than from a pov of a player playing a game. This is not always possible, such as in case of optional scenes. That Yuna may or may not reunite with Tidus in FFX-2 is mentioned as a gameplay mechanic, and Tifa and Cloud having two dialogue courses for their "moment under Highwind" is also mentioned being affected by game mechanics. I don't see much of a way out of things like that.
It was decided FFVII story sections wouldn't use game headers, which sounds like it makes sense but once you actually get there to write the section...I find it just doesn't work. I feel you still have to mention where in the games the story happened, because people will use as a reference and if it starts talking about something they don't remember having's not a useful reference. So I've just written "in Crisis Core bla bla...this happens" and then "But in Before Crisis it is...blabla" but this ruins the in-lore pov obviously. The game headers sort of work because there isn't really any character who is always there ever since from the start of Before Crisis to the end of Dirge of Cerberus. There is actually fairly little overlap. Which I think makes the gameheaders still the clearest way to structure most of the story sections.
Playable characters have their battle info in article but outside of that the way gameplay info is presented varies. I think merchant characters should have shop lists, and sidequests would be good to be in their own section.
Creation and Development section I think is exactly the sort of section for meta character info, to explain that at first Lucrecia was just this NPC in a flashback but later her story was expanded to include this and that. It's always a little tricky with spoilers though.
I'll check the Lucrecia article later, but to me it seems the story info shouldn't be in the sidequest bit. The story is always summarised and doesn't have to be so exact in details.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 18:38, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Well. I edited to what I thought was best. Looks like quite a lot of that trivia could be put to development section too. The story section works good without need of sections, as her role is so concise.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 21:28, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

Clarification needed Edit

L'Cie in XV. I know they are not referred to under that name according to Nomura, but they are the same: humans gifted/cursed with magical powers by some divine force and given a task to perform. Should the l'Cie in XV (Noctis, Stella, est.) be given a section in the article or not? I bring this up because Valhalla is stated to have been seen/mentioned in both XIII-2 and XV, but in XV it is referred to as the "Kingdom of the Dead". Thought something similar could be possible with l'Cie, and eventually fal'Cie if they appear in XV too. --Crystal Tear (talk) 20:24, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

It's not really the same without the Cie'th/crystal stasis/similar thing though. I'd be more comfortable with it being added if the similarities were more substantial.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:14, January 29, 2014 (UTC)

Boss sprites for FFVI iOS Edit

When are you uploading the boss/enemy sprites of FFVI iOS/Android, specifically the Kefka sprites (both regular boss and final boss)? Weedle McHairybug (talk) 04:02, January 30, 2014 (UTC)

I don't be able to do that, but I hope someone will be in the future. There is not going to be a way to extract them from the game data, so someone will have to edit them from screenshots.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 04:04, January 30, 2014 (UTC)

Source for trivia in Kitase's page Edit

Hey there! I found an interview that can be used as a source for one of the trivias in Kitase's page ( However, I'm not that good with coding, so I was wondering how best to cite it on the page. Thanks SetzerLeonhart (talk) 20:42, February 22, 2014 (UTC)

Hey cool, thanks for that. You can put a citation like this <ref>url etc here</ref> behind the point that needs citations. If the same reference is used in multiple places, make it like <ref name="any-name-here">url etc here</ref> this (ref name can't have spaces) the first time the reference appears, and for any recurring bits just use <ref name="any-name-here"/>. When a page has citations like this, if it doesn't have a References section at the bottom already, it is easy to create one. Just like this:
And all done. :)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:13, February 23, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the info! At first, I tried using the <ref>url</ref> but then had trouble creating the References at the bottom. Someone already did it before I got to the page again though, but thanks anyway. :)

Just popping in to say thanks Edit

I've recently been doing a crapton of work on the Android version of FFVI. I own the Android version (apparently I'm one of very few who do?) and have been uploading this stuff pretty much constantly and it's a pretty tough job, but someone has to do it. I noticed you've been helping out and added categories to pretty much every image I've uploaded, so I'm just popping in to say thanks, it's good that I'm not doing this completely alone ^^ --Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 20:25, February 26, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah I don't think we have anyone else working on the FFVI smartphone version. You are supposed to categorise images yourself though... It's pretty easy. If it is a screenshot, the licence is always {{Screenshot|Final Fantasy VI iOS}} (even if it's Android; it's hard to come up a good catch-all name for this version). You can just type that into the summary box when uploading, and then there is no need to choose a license from the drop down list. Whether it is a locations image or an ability image etc, you can add the category by typing this to the summary box: [[Category:Final Fantasy VI iOS Location Images]], or using the add categories field at the bottom of the fileview of the image. To find what image categories exist you can browse Category:Final Fantasy VI Images. New categories are easy to add as well. Add a category to an image even if it doesn't yet exist, and it will show up as a red link in fileview. Then click on the red link to create the category.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:31, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
Huh. I'm fairly sure I did add the categories and the screenshot (don't worry, I know how to do it). If I missed some stuff then it must have been a fatal error. I can definitely remember that adding them in the summary for the upload used to work...--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 21:12, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
Okay then there is no problem if you are already doing that. :) Just quite a few new uploads don't. That's why I try check the recently uploaded files every day.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 23:56, February 26, 2014 (UTC)

Quests Datalog Entries in LRFFXIIIEdit

LRFFXIII Fang Render

Hey there, Keltainentoukokuu!

I wanted to say thanks for revisiting my edits to a few pages. Although you deemed most of it as too much of a good thing, I do hope I could contribute some useful information ;-)

Anyways, thanks again and keep up the good work!

No your edits were good, but before we had a problem with people adding strategies to enemy pages, not because it was the best way to win, but because that's how they themselves did it. It was decided we'd try to offer strategies that each reader could try to adapt to their own play style, using whatever team/equipment they want/have available. Like we could recommend Cactuar for the Yomi battle, but if someone doesn't have it, then maybe not worth it to go capture one and then raise one just for that one battle, so giving a variety of ideas on what monster allies work for that battle is better than just saying use Cactuar.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:31, March 6, 2014 (UTC)

Naming InspirationEdit

Hey :) you may have noticed my comment on the Bhunivelze talk page but it was a query I am eager to have either some back up or to have shot down in flames; ブーニベルゼ is Bhunivelze in Japanese (Buniberuze) but if you cut the first character and paste it twice at the back, then delete the second and third character you get Beelzebub (ベルゼブブ). I was wondering if this was intentional, like the developers maybe took that word and played with it to come up with their own? Sorry if this seems like wild mad guessing, I don't want to get known for being THAT guy who peppers the wiki with his own mad speculation :S AdeusValcross (talk) 19:47, March 7, 2014 (UTC)

I think it is unlikely. Etymology for any of the gods is unknown, besides Pulse whose name is i English I guess.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:49, March 7, 2014 (UTC)
Never mind, I don't know how Japanese works and I thought it was interesting that they shared the same characters, might have led to something. Back to the drawing board. AdeusValcross (talk) 10:32, March 9, 2014 (UTC)

Message Edit

Hello Keltainentoukokuu,

I am wondering why you overwrote my amendments to the LR FFXIII Canvas of Prayers? Did I do something incorrectly? I did not add any more because I wanted to ensure I was doing it correct before continuing on. I can provide details for nearly all Wildlands Canvas of Prayers and Luxerion. I am running a guide on YT and thought I would try help this community as well.

Please tell me what I did wrong so I can avoid it in the future.

Kind Regards ErebosGaming ( 23:34, March 13, 2014 (UTC))

About the YouTube vids? There should probably be some kind of discussion or policy if we decide to start doing video walkthroughs. So far no articles have them like that, and we'd have to decide how exactly we want to do it. It would be preferable if all videos were on FFWiki's own YouTube channel, in case they get deleted for whatever reason etc, and to check that all videos would "qualify" to be on the wiki (to avoid a situation where people just add whatever YouTube videos all over the place and someone has to view them all and check if they're actually any good). Currently I'm not even sure what our video policy is. Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:26, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

It wasn't just the YT videos, you removed nearly all my changes, such as the description etc. Like I didn't even do the edit :). Was the structure ok (excluding the Video Guide ofc?).

Now, in my defence, I checked all the policies and there was nothing on them disregarding videos etc. Also, I thought this Wikia is about helping people finding information and helping the struggling folk? I mean that's how I found this site :). I just thought I would try modernise it a bit more.

I do like your idea on videos coming from FFWiki's channel so you guys can control what comes in... but isn't that counter-intuitive to what this website is about? Where you can login, and just jump on and make edits? All edits are documented therefore added videos can be seen as well and watched to ensure they are checked?

I am more than willing to have a conversation with the site admins to try come up with some policies etc if they are willing or I can drop the idea completely and just continue editing the static text on pages I can add to.

Regards ErebosGaming ( 09:23, March 14, 2014 (UTC))

I did not mean to remove anything but the video link because I was unsure how those should be on the wiki. I may have edit-conflicted you without realising. When I started editing the Luxerion section was empty bar two entries and so I added some more, but didn't have the descriptions at hand. And I thought the order should probably be the order they appear in the game menu. Please add back anything I unfairly removed!
I think the issue with YouTube has always been that it's an external site and thus brings its own challenges. There are videos embedded here but mainly to illustrate glitches. Potential issues I see would be people wanting to direct views to their own YouTube channels by adding their videos to the wiki (I think I've seen it previously), and also the scope, like should enemy pages have video strategies as well. People could already go to YouTube if they want a video walkthrough although I do see the benefit of the two being coupled. Wikia doesn't seem wild about wikis using YouTube, because they'd like us to use their own video service, but that requires licensing the videos and whatever else that I wouldn't know about.
I am ambivalent on the use of videos on the wiki personally. It could be helpful but also be messy. If the videos are not from the FFWiki "official" channel then people will change the links to whatever video they think is better or a video they made themselves, and I don't really want to be checking all that, and deciding which video should be "the" walkthrough video for a quest...
You can always start a discussion on the article talk page if you have an idea that the wiki is not doing yet. This is considered more polite than just adding stuff straight in. You don't need admin approval, just general wiki consensus, so if you get some people showing you green light then you can go ahead and add it.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 10:03, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

No problems at all, if I get the time I can populate the descriptions for the canvas of prayers. I do this already in my YT video descriptions so its a simple copy and paste job ;).

Regarding videos, I agree as well, as this is technically a free for all, videos can be changed quite quickly and yes I agree, people may want to change the video to theirs for the pure fact of advertising their channel rather than the original. The reason I added my video was for several reasons, professional, to the point, has communication and shows how to obtain the Quest materials.

I will do as you suggest and create a discussion, maybe we could set up an agreement where video guides are by a dedicated channel which follows strict deadlines on the provided content, such as, the structure, the conversation and possibly a 'Provided for Wikia' in the content of the YT description or video itself, therefore the content owner still owns the content but it is shown that the purpose of the video was to ensure Wikia gets some traffic from YT for example.

I am still new here so still have a lot to learn, as I said previously, I read the policies and from what I read I was not out of line, but for general politeness I will revoke any video additions until we can come up with a solution :).

Thank you very much for the details ;).

It's all cool. Sorry again for removing legit stuff, I don't know how I cocked that up. Having the descriptions would be super great!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 11:14, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

Changing Screenshot to SECopyright on the images I uploadEdit

The images I am uploading were cropped from screenshots. Since they originate from screenshots they deserve the screenshot license. The licensing information for a screenshot applies whether it has been cropped or not.

Additionally, SECopyright is the last resort. It is mostly used for models and sprites extracted from the game. By classing these uploads as SECopyright it implies it comes directly from the game. This is not true, and a sprite extracted from the game will look different. JBed (talk) 01:20, March 24, 2014 (UTC)

I think they are too edited to be classified as screenshots anymore. SECopyright is just the general Square Enix copyright template. If one wants to search specifically screenshots or sprites they don't care how they originated... If anything is a screenshot then I think we could just do away with that category altogether because it doesn't really mean anything.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:28, March 24, 2014 (UTC)
I have been going by the idea that only "raw" screenshots go to the screenshots category (with borders cropped off if that applies; I didn't think the black areas are "part of the game" seeing as you can toggle the amount of black border from the TV options) and if it has been edited (colours changed, text/etc added, cropped) then it's something else. It seems counter-intuitive to me to put both "this is how the game actually is" and edited pics to the same place. o_o Maybe that's not the point of the categories, but that's how I have used them.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:47, March 24, 2014 (UTC)
I understand this perspective. Still I don't feel comfortable putting them in SECopyright. Because to me SECopyright, though it is the general usage template for things not covered by the other ones, is used for things extracted from the game and viewed externally (ideally these would be covered in their own licenses).
A screenshot is something that has been output on the screen. And a scan is something taken from a book, even if I have cropped and removed background objects, it is still a scan. JBed (talk) 02:12, March 24, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah... you're thinking more on the level of licensing the image correctly whereas I just think that wow the FFVI iOS screenshots category is gonna look different. I've been looking at the screenshot categories for gameplay images and sprite/render categories for "I want this thing without the background". I wonder if there are composite images on the wiki of both ripped and screenshotted elements. I'll try think of this in a bigger picture from now on. o_oKeltainentoukokuu (talk) 02:32, March 24, 2014 (UTC)
