An unnamed esper that looks like a red palette swap of Ifrit challenges Kefka to a battle in Thamasa. The battle is cinematic. In the 2014 releases, the unnamed esper uses Ifrit's sprite instead of being a palette swap, although a palette swap version of the sprite is still found inside the coding.

Battle[]
During the event, Kefka faces off against this esper. Kefka comes equipped with a Morning Star, Paladin's Shield and a Ribbon and has relatively high stats (Kefka 3) compared to his previous fights. After the espers' useless efforts in trying to defeat Kefka, the esper ends up being transformed into magicite.

Behind the scenes[]
When Kefka transforms the unnamed esper into magicite, the magicite sprite is not the same as the magicite sprite that appears on the field. It is a unique sprite that only appears in this cutscene.
The formation used during the gameplay is #392. Triggering the other formations does not cause Kefka to appear, but the event will still play and the esper will still end up being transformed into magicite.
