Una Tayuun is a non-playable character from Final Fantasy XIV. She and her companions Percevains and Satzfloh were members of the Path of the Twelve during version 1.0. Una Tayuun and her companions return at the beginning of A Realm Reborn as members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

History

Una Tayuun and her companions could be seen several times walking around the Waking Sands but they did not interact directly with the adventurer. Eventually the adventurer and his path companion set out on a mission to help the Sylphs rescue podlings from the Garleans. When the mission was nearly completed, Una Tayuun and her companions appeared on the scene and demanded that the adventurer reveal all his progress as they were going to take over the mission.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Following the Calamity, memories about Una Tayuun's party were erased from everyone's mind, including those who were their own companions. Once Una Tayuun returns to the Waking Sands, she discovers that the Path of the Twelve has become the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and the headquarters has been moved to Vesper Bay. Arriving at the new Waking Sands, no one remembers her. Eventually Una Tayuun is reunited with Percevains and briefly later with Satzfloh. The trio gradually begin to reminisce about each other's memories but are unable to prove that they were once members of the Path of the Twelve, and Una Tayuun begins to consider whether it is worth proving who they are.

Seeing the new adventurers who began frequenting the Waking Sands, Una Tayuun believed the time had come for her and her companions to retire. But soon after this, Livia sas Junius led a Garlean raid on the Waking Sands and Una Tayuun and her companions were killed trying to defend the headquarters. After their death, their bodies were taken to be buried in Church of Saint Adama Landama's lichyard in Eastern Thanalan.

Appearance

Una Tayuun in version 1.0.

Una Tayuun is a blonde Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te with yellow eyes. She is dressed in a version 1.0 Hearers uniform with golden trimmings. She wears a purple robe and a purple pointed hat with feathers on the end. Although the Hearers' uniform colors were altered in A Realm Reborn, Una Tayuun remained with her attire unchanged.

Personality

Due to their few interactions with the player, little is known of the personality of Una Tayuun and her companions. In version 1.0 they were rude and seemed to act like delinquents; in A Realm Reborn Una Tayuun says they were "thick as thieves".

Gameplay

An undead version of Una Tayuun called the Bloated Conjurer can appear randomly on the floors of Palace of the Dead.

Behind the scenes

Una Tayuun's party were erroneously associated with the Circle of Knowing in early editions of Encyclopædia Eorzea: The World of Final Fantasy XIV; they are correctly associated with the Path of the Twelve in later editions.

Although Una Tayuun is a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, her name is according to the naming convention of the Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te. "Una" is a potential forename randomly generated for female Keepers of the Moon player characters, and "Tayuun" is a potential surname randomly generated for Keeper of the Moon player characters of both genders.
