Appearances[edit | edit source]
Ultimate End is the ability of the Knights of the Round, and is one of the most powerful attacks, dealing 13 hits of non-elemental unblockable damage to all enemies, upwards to 129,987. The spell power of Ultimate End is equal to 5x the user's base Magic stat.
Ultimate End is an enemy attack in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward during the final battle against King Thordan. After the boss places his Ascalon downward to the ground, the Knights Twelve begin attacking the party. Players must not only dodge AOEs, but also prevent certain attacks from dealing heavy damage and defeat certain adds to keep the enemy Limit Break gauge from filling up. The damage dealt by Ultimate End depends on the remaining percentage in the gauge. Allowing the gauge to reach its maximum amount will instantly kill the entire party.
Ultimate End makes another appearance in the Hildibrand Manderville questline. In the final quest "If I Could Turn Back Time," the Grand Sers (who had previously impersonated the Heavens' Ward, the mortal identities of the Knights Twelve) perform the attack on Hildibrand in a cutscene. This version of the attack plays as a direct recreation of the Final Fantasy VII version.
Ultimate End is the attack used by the summon Knights of the Round. It can only be used when the summon sequence is successful.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
The ultimate end is a concept in the moral philosophy of Max Weber, which individuals act in a faithful, rather than rational, manner.
