Troubadour (トルバドゥール, Torubadūru?) is a recurring Bard ability in Final Fantasy series.

Final Fantasy XI

Troubadour is a merit ability available to Bards at level 75. It requires 3 merit point to learn initially. It increases the casting time for songs by 1.5 and doubles the effect duration for 1 minute. Generally, beneficial songs last 2 minutes, plus any modifiers for using special instruments. It can be recast every 10 minutes.

Final Fantasy XIV

Troubadour is a level 62 Bard ability. It has an instant cast time with an off-global cooldown of 120 seconds (or 90 seconds from level 88 onwards). Troubadour reduces the damage taken by the user and nearby party members within 30 yalms by 10% for 15 seconds. It cannot stack with Machinist's Tactician or Dancer's Shield Samba.

Etymology

[view · edit · purge]A troubadour is a composer and performer of Old Occitan lyric poetry during the High Middle Ages. The songs of troubadours deal mainly with themes of chivalry and courtly love.
