The Warrior explains that shortly after they departed from Cosmos earlier, he fought an endless horde of manikins. Realizing they cannot win against such numbers, he came across Kain who told him the war is an endless [[cycle]], and when they lose they will simply be revived to fight again. Kain suggested the only way for them to 'win' is to accept their loss as inevitable. The Warrior agreed, and Kain set to put his allies to sleep and hiding them away somewhere safe, so they may be revived in the next cycle, and in the meantime are out of danger. Story

After defeating Kain and learning of the manikin army, Lightning returns to Order's Sanctuary to find that only the Warrior of Light has returned safely. Lightning tells them about the endless swarm of manikins and Kain's betrayal, and Cosmos senses Jecht's spirit fade. Lightning believes Kain did this, and when Cosmos objects Lightning interrupts, telling the goddess her orders will get them killed before they can manifest their Crystals. The Warrior of Light agrees, and lifts his sword against her. Cosmos intervenes in the battle and tells the Warrior he knows more than he is saying, and asks him for the truth.

The Warrior explains that shortly after they departed from Cosmos earlier, he fought an endless horde of manikins. Realizing they cannot win against such numbers, he came across Kain who told him the war is an endless cycle, and when they lose they will simply be revived to fight again. Kain suggested the only way for them to 'win' is to accept their loss as inevitable. The Warrior agreed, and Kain set to put his allies to sleep and hiding them away somewhere safe, so they may be revived in the next cycle, and in the meantime are out of danger. Lightning viciously rejects this plan, and begins to question why they even fight if the war is without end.

The Warrior explains they fight to end the war using the Crystals, but in the current situation they will perish before they can obtain them. Laguna, Vaan and Yuna arrive, overhearing his words. Lightning tells them she'll make her own fate, and reasons that even in the next cycle the manikins will remain, and thus they should try to defeat as many as possible before the cycle ends. Laguna tells he knows where the manikins are coming from, and the group, save for the Warrior, agrees to head out to find it.

Forsaken Kingdom

Template:Dissidia 012 Map

  • KP Chance: Win battle
  • Rules: Disabled
  • Skills: Enabled

This gateway is very simple. The player has the option to immediately approach the Cosmos Piece and end the storyline, but can dally to acquire items and another Summonstone, Odin. A very powerful Elite Battle Piece, the strongest enemy possible, guards the two lower chests. The player should exercise caution if they challenge it, as Elite Battle Pieces are even stronger than the stage bosses.
