Consume user's HP to inflict heavy damage on enemies
Final Fantasy Type-0 description
Transience (無常紅吹雪, Mujō Kō Fubuki?, lit. Transient Crimson Blizzard) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is an ability used exclusively by Jack of Class Zero.
Appearances[]
Final Fantasy Type-0[]
Transience is an ability for Jack that requires 5 AP and is available after learning Tranquility: AG ↓. It consumes the user's HP to inflict heavy damage on enemies. With proper timing, Jack can use it to evade attacks and perform a heavily damaging lightning-fast roundhousing slash as a counterattack. Unlike Reflex, Tranquility can allow for a Killsight deathblow effect when it is timed to the right frame of an enemy's attack, but has a longer recovery time.
Transience: Power ↑ requires 6 AP and is available after learning Transience. It increases the power of Transience. Transience: Power ↑ II requires 8 AP and is available after learning Transience: Power ↑. It further increases the power of Transience. Transience: AG ↓ requires 4 AP and is available after learning Transience: Power ↑ II. It reduces the AG cost of Transience.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[]
Transience is Jack's EX Ability, learned from the greatsword Dragonslayer (0). When invoked, Jack channels all but 1 HP into a high-impact BRV+HP Attack. Jack will then receive multiple buffs including HP Regen with each attack thereafter. The drain effect does not count against the player's score.
Pictlogica Final Fantasy[]
Transience is the Premium Skills for Jack. It deals small physical damage to all enemies and puts the enemies in near death. The power of Transience increases with the amount of HP lost. It has a high charge speed and is of the Prayer Memento.
Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[]
Transience is the Limit Burst for Jack. At max rarity and fully powered, it deals 1 hit of physical damage with a modifier of 3.45x to all enemies at the cost of 20% HP to the caster.

Etymology[]
Transcience means "passing with time" or "the state of being brief and short-lived".
Hanafubuki is a Japanese poetic term that refers to prominent and profuse cherry blossoms that fall like snow. Cherry blossoms in Japan are significantly valued as to represent the transience of life and to value the beauty and significance of things in life's passing. Samurai culture values the cherry blossom as a flower that truly represents the samurai, from being the ideal of flowers to the dignity of falling with grace.
