Description

Tranquilizer is a recovery item item in Final Fantasy VII that cures Fury and inflicts Sadness when used on a target who does not have Fury. Fury makes Limit gauge fill faster but the afflicted misses their attacks more often. Sadness makes Limit gauge fill slowly, but makes the afflicted take 33% less damage.

Use

Tranquilizer is mostly not needed for curing Fury, but it has a powerful use in terms of playing defensively. By using a Tranquilizer to inflict Sadness on a party member, that character will take 33% less damage at the cost of halving the Limit Gauge fill rate. If this character is in the back row and has Cover they can easily take hits for allies while greatly reducing damage.
