A Trance is a temporary state the player's explorer can enter to turn the tide of battle in Final Fantasy Explorers. Trances have a wide variety of effects depending on the current magicite equipped, including transformations into veteran Final Fantasy characters.

Mechanics[edit | edit source]

To use a Trance, the player must build the Trance Gauge by attacking and defeating enemies, then tap the Trance icon. Activating a Trance will:

  • Fully restore HP and AP.
  • Reduce AP costs to 0.
  • Reduce casting and cooldown times.
  • Boost stats and resistances depending on the equipped magicite for the duration of the Trance.
  • Enable a unique Trance Surge depending on the equipped magicite.

Trance Surges activate identically to Crystal Surges. Each Trance Surge has 4 levels. The higher the level, the greater the effect. Level 1 is the default level, level 2 will activate when an ally cheers beside the player, level 3 requires 2 allies, and level 4 needs 3 allies. Trance Surges can deal damage above the 9999 damage cap, but cannot make all attacks deal over 9999 damage like certain Crystal Surges.
