Tortoise Shield (こうらのたて, Koura no Tate?, lit. Shell Shield), also known as TortoiseShld, is a recurring shield in the Final Fantasy series.

Tortoise Shield is a shield that provides 66 Defense (only when in Imp status), 66 Magic Defense, 30% Evasion, 30% Magic Evasion, absorbs Water-elemental attacks, and teaches the Imp at a x1 rate. This armor is ignored by the Optimize option in the equipment menu. It can be stolen or dropped from Basilisk, betting the Aegis Shield or Reed Cloak in the Dragon's Neck Coliseum, or Metamorphed from Cactuar, Tonberry, or Tonberries. It can be equipped by everyone except Umaro.
Final Fantasy XI[]
Tortoise Shield is a shield that provides INT +1, MND +1, and when in areas under own nation's control, it converts 15 HP to MP. It can be equipped by level 30 White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Paladin, Dark Knight, Summoner, Blue Mage, and Scholar. It is dropped by Bo'Who Warmonger.
