Torama is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Torama is the fortieth card in the inventory and the seventh Level 4 card.

Being a Level 4 card, the card values on the Torama are not particularly strong, but its value placements may be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus, especially as it has so many of the same number.

Obtain[]

The Torama monster has a 3.5% chance to drop the card. Using the Card command on a Torama has a 93.7% chance to procure a Torama card when it succeeds.

Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 4 cards has a chance of using Torama in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match.

Card Mod[]

Five Torama cards refine into a Life Ring with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, which in turn becomes Life magic with Siren's Life Magic Refiner. This is a good spell to amass early and thus it is worth collecting Torama cards if partaking in Triple Triad early on. However, as it takes five cards to make one Life Ring, it is more time-consuming to get spells this way than with many other items the player may thus want to prioritize.

In 1999, following the release of Final Fantasy VIII in Japan, Bandai produced a full set of collectible Triple Triad cards in Final Fantasy VIII Carddass Masters Perfect Visuals. The set was made up of the 110 cards as seen in the game along with 72 artwork cards and a collector's edition playing mat. The cards have a blue side and a red side.
