Dissidia Final Fantasy Summon Compendium

Tiamat (ティアマット, Tiamatto?) is a recurring enemy and summoned monster in the Final Fantasy series. Always a dragon, Tiamat is usually one of the later bosses, or at least one of the harder enemies the party encounters. Despite its several reappearances, Tiamat's most prominent appearance is in her debut as one of the Four Fiends in the original Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy XI[]

Tiamat

Tiamat is a Hyper Notorious Monster found in the depths of the Attohwa Chasm. One of the three "Grand Wyrms" introduced in the Final Fantasy XI: Chains of Promathia expansion along with Jormungand and Vrtra, Tiamat once boasted one of the highest levels and greatest HP pools in the game, estimated at Level 95. Though the three wyrms are known for the lack of good items they give upon death, Tiamat remains the only Grand Wyrm actively sought out by the endgame community today on account of its Herald's Gators, which increases movement speed for particular mage jobs.

Tiamat's spawning conditions are brutal. She has a brief window in which to spawn once every 30 minutes, beginning 72 hours after her last demise, lasting for exactly 48 hours, requiring Linkshell groups to spend long spans of time waiting for her appear. In the Chains of Promathia storyline, Tiamat is perpetually hunted by the Shikaree Sisters, three Mithran hunters who fare from Olzhirya, the Mithran homeland.

Final Fantasy XII[]
