"Thunderer" (雷鳴, Raimei?, lit. Thunder) is a recurring boss theme in Final Fantasy XIV.

It was composed by Masayoshi Soken, with the lyrics written by Michael-Christopher Koji Fox and the vocals provided by Fukiko Sekine.

It also plays in most boss fights against the Ascians, namely against Lahabrea in The Praetorium The Praetorium and against Nabriales in The Chrysalis The Chrysalis.

It is also the boss theme of Twintania in The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 5 The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 5.

Etymology[]

Thunder is the sound caused by lightning. Depending on the distance and nature of the lightning, thunder can range from a sharp, loud crack to a long, low rumble (brontide).
