Thundaga (サンダガ, Sandaga?), also known as Bolt 3 and Lit 3, is a recurring Black Magic spell from the Final Fantasy series. It is generally the most powerful Lightning-elemental spell. Thundaga is also known as Foudre X in the French version, Electro++ in the Spanish version and Blitzga in German.

Black Mage - LIT3

Thundaga, also known as LIT3 in the NES release and Bolt3 in the Final Fantasy Origins release, is a level 6 Black Magic spell which inflicts major Lightning-elemental damage to all enemies. In the NES and Origins releases, it inflicts between 60 and 240 Lightning damage, while in subsequent releases, damage dealt depends on the caster's Intelligence. Thundaga may be cast by Chronodia, Dark Wizard, and Chaos.

The spell can be bought at Crescent Lake and can be learned by the Black Mage, Black Wizard, and Red Wizard job classes. In the GBA/PSP/iOS releases it costs 35 MP to cast.

In the original Japanese version, this spell was named "Thunga" (サンガー, Sangā?). The spell name was standardized to "Thundaga" (サンダガ, Sandaga?) since the WonderSwan Color release.

Final Fantasy III

Thundaga causes heavy Lightning damage to one or all enemies and has a base power of 110. it is a Black Magic level 5 spell it can bought in Northeast Saronia or in Doga's Village for 5,000 gil. The only jobs that can use this spell are a Black Mage, a Magus, an Onion Knight, and a Sage, though any job can use it through the Heavenly Wrath item. The enemy Kum Kum can use this spell against the party.

Final Fantasy IV

Lit 3, retranslated as Thundaga in the GBA and Nintendo DS releases, causes heavy Lightning damage to one or all enemies. This spell is already known by Fusoya and Tellah. Palom can learn it at level 34 and Rydia at level 45 in non-DS versions and 41 in the DS version.

It costs 30 MP to cast and has a spell power of 110 (256 in non-DS versions). Thundaga can be cast by Lunar Ramuh, Lunar Asura, Li'l Murderer, and Dark Sage.

Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-

Thundaga returns as a Black Magic spell in the sequel of Final Fantasy IV. The imposter Rydia learns it at level 45 and Palom already known the spell, but Rydia doesn't have the spell when she joins in the final battle. It deals major Lightning-elemental damage to one enemy or moderate damage to all enemies at the cost of 30 MP.

Thundaga can be used by several characters in the game, and costs 30 MP to cast.

Final Fantasy V

Bolt 3, retranslated as Thundaga in the GBA release, causes heavy Lightning damage to one or all enemies. It can only be cast by the Black Mage job. This spell can only be purchased in Moore for 6,000 gil and costs 25 MP to cast. Thundaga can be cast by Barrier, Enuo, Exdeath in the first battle, Flaremancer, Fury, Melusine, Necrophobe, Neo Exdeath, and Omniscient.

The player may utilize this ability by catching and releasing a Reflect Mage, Tiny Mage, or Dark Elemental.

Final Fantasy VI

Bolt 3, retranslated as Thundaga in the GBA release, deals heavy Lightning damage to one or all enemies. This spell can only be learned from the Esper Valigarmanda at a x1 rate, and costs 53 MP to cast. It has a hit rate of 150, power of 120, and is vulnerable to Runic. Thundaga can be cast by various enemies in this game, the earliest being by the Crane.

Final Fantasy VII

Bolt 3 is the final spell of the Lightning Materia, and costs 52 MP to cast. It has a base spell power equal to 4x the base magic damage. Only the boss Bizarro∙Sephiroth and the enemy Christopher use the spell.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-

Thundaga fires many bolts of light forward, hitting multiple targets. Compared to Thunder and Thundara, Thundaga has the widest radius and longest range. Three variations of Thundaga also appear. Dark Thundaga inflicts damage and inflicts Poison and Silence statuses, Hell Thundaga inflicts Poison, Silence, Stop and Instant Death, and Tri-Thundaga fires lightning in three directions doing greater damage than Thundaga.

Thundaga costs 32 MP, Dark Thundaga costs 38 MP, Hell Thundaga costs 52 MP, and Tri-Thundaga costs 64 MP. Thundaga can be bought from Research Dept. QMC + for 10,000gil and Hell Thundaga can be bought from Wutai Secret Shop for 15,000gil; the others can be made through Materia Fusion.

Final Fantasy VIII

The first game in the saga to call it Thundaga, it can be refined from items and can be drawn from enemies when the party's level is over 30. Casting Thundaga in battle increases compatibility with Quezacotl by 2.4, but lowers compatibility with Ifrit by 0.8.

The Octagon Rod teaches Vivi Thundaga. The shop in Esto Gaza has the Octagon Rod for sale after Zidane and company complete the Desert Palace.

It costs 24 MP to cast, requires 80 AP to learn, and has a spell power of 72. It can be reflected and works with Return Magic. Thundaga can be cast by Abadon, Earth Guardian, Grand Dragon, Kuja, Malboro, and Necron.

Final Fantasy X

Thundaga is located in Lulu's section of the Sphere Grid, although all characters can obtain it. It costs 16MP to cast. Thundaga can be cast by Abaddon, Behemoth King, Chimera (Home), Chimera Brain, Coeurlregina, Greater Sphere, Imp, Jumbo Flan, Master Coeurl, Mindy, Seymour, Seymour Omnis, Sleep Sprout, Spirit, Varuna, and Wraith.

Final Fantasy X-2

Thundaga is available for the Black Mage Dressphere. To learn it costs 100 AP and to cast costs 24 MP. Thundaga can also be used when the player has gone through three nodes on the Thunder Spawn Garment Grid or while equipped with the Ochre Ring accessory. Thundaga can also be used via Yuna's Festival-Goer Dressphere ability Thunder Geta, and hits either one or two enemies. A large array of enemies are capable of casting this spell.

Final Fantasy XI

Template:See Also Thundaga is a tier 1 elemental spell. It deals area of effect damage, potentially hitting multiple targets. -"Ga" spells, as they are often referred to in the game, do more damage than tier 1 elemental magic with the same elemental type. This spell is purchasable by vendors for 17,472 gil or less depending upon fame.

Final Fantasy XII

Thundaga is a Level 5 Black Magick spell available for purchase in Balfonheim for 8,200 gil. Thundaga inflicts major Lightning-elemental damage to all enemies in range. It (initially) costs 42 MP to cast.

In the International Zodiac Job System version, Thundaga is Level 9 spell that costs 40 MP and costs 7000 gil to buy. Only the Black Mage can use the spell naturally, and the Red Mage can acquire Thundaga's license by acquiring license for Cúchulainn first.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Kytes learns Thundaga at Level 18. It deals Lightning damage to all enemies around a designated target.

Final Fantasy XIII

THUNDAGA

Thundaga is an ability for the Ravager role, and costs three ATB bars to cast and launches staggered opponents. Lightning, Sazh, and Hope can learn it at different Crystarium levels.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Thundaga is the highest lightning-attribute spell learnable by the Ravager role. It costs 3 ATB segments to cast. It deals high damage and may launch opponents in the air. Only Serah is able to learn it out of the two playable characters, and some monster Ravagers are able to learn it as well.

Thundaga is also a spell learnable by Lightning's Mage paradigm in the "Requiem of the Goddess" DLC. It costs 4 ATB segments to cast, deals heavy lightning-attribute damage and Wound damage.

Final Fantasy XIV

Deals lightning damage.

Description

Thundaga is a level 46 spell learned by Thaumaturges and is exclusive to the class. It deals high thunder elemental damage to a single target, and has a cast time of 5 seconds. It's critical damage can be increased by using it after a Thunder => Thundara combo. Template:Sec-stub

A Black Mage can learn Thundaga for 500 JP. It uses 24 MP and has a speed of 15.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Thundaga is learned by the Black Mage job from the Thor Rod for 300 AP. It costs 24 MP to cast, has a Magic Power of 50, and has a range of 4 with a vertical reach of 3. It is stealable through the ability Steal: Ability, and is also susceptible to Return Magic and Absorb MP. Thundaga is also one of the central spells of the Magestorm skillset used by Totema.

When it is cast, three lightning strikes from the top, left, and right corner will hit the target.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Black Mages again learn Thundaga from the Thor Rod for 300 AP. Vikings may also learn the spell for 350 AP from the Gold Axe. In both cases, Thundaga requires 18 MP to cast.

Thundaga can only be cast when fusing Thunder Magicite. The player must combine three Thunder Magicites to cast this.

Thundaga can only be cast by piling three Thunder spells. If two target rings about to cast Thundara +1 line up perfectly, it'll cast Thundaga +1.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

Thundaga is the level 20 Lightning spell, exclusive to the Black Mage class, and caps at level 100. It deals Lightning damage to all enemies, can be used once per battle, and up to three times a day. It requires three turns to cast.

Thundaga can be cast be stacking three Thunder target rings.

Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light

Thundaga is a high level Black Magic spell. The spell costs 4 AP to cast and it has a spell power of 12. It can only be used if the Thundaga Tome item is in the character's inventory. The spell can only be purchased in Spelvia for 5000 gil.

Dissidia Final Fantasy

Thundaga is one of Onion Knight's Bravery attacks. It chains from Thunder and summons two bolts of lightning to strike the opponent from above, initiating a Chase Sequence. It costs 30 CP to equip and 180 AP to master.

Kefka has two versions of Thundaga: Zap-Trap Thundaga, in which he summons several lightning bolts surrounding the opponent, and Lickity-Split Thundaga, which sends a swift string of bolts forward. He is able to use Lickity-Split Thundaga on the ground and Zap-Trap Thundaga in the air initially, and learns to use them in the air and on the ground, respectively, at Level 16. Lickity-Split Thundaga costs 20 CP to equip and 90 AP to master, while Zap-Trap Thundaga costs 30 CP to equip and 180 AP to master.

Shantotto uses Thundaga when casting Spirit Magic: Thunder while she has between 3000 and 6000 bravery, which summons medium-sized lightning bolts to strike the opponent from above.

Lightning is able to use Thundaga as a Bravery attack. It creates a field of electricity in front of her that lasts for a period of time, initiating a Chase Sequence if it hits the opponent. It costs 30 CP to equip.

Garland has Thundaga as a new Bravery attack. It calls a lightning bolt down around the opponent, and comes in both ground and aerial variants. Thundaga costs 30 CP to equip and 100 AP to master.

Shantotto can now cast Thundaga with Spirit Magic: Thunder between 2000 and 4000 bravery.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

Thundaga is a Reactive ability in Theatrhythm that activates in BMS every time the player gets a Good or better rating on 28 Hold Triggers, and deals high-power magic damage. Thundaga is learned by Terra at Level 75, Sephiroth at Level 40, Vivi at Level 85, and Shantotto at Level 80.

Kingdom Hearts

Thundaga, together with its lower tiers Thunder and Thundara, appears in Kingdom Hearts as a magic spell. The spell's effect has varied across different titles from single targeting spell to an area-of-effect spell.
