Thread (糸, Ito?), also known as Web, Silk, and String, is a recurring enemy ability in the Final Fantasy series. It generally inflicts the Slow or Stop status.

Final Fantasy V[]
Web inflicts Slow on a target. It is used by Byblos, Druid, Gloom Widow, Moss Fungus and Tarantula. It can be utilized by the player by catching and releasing a Tarantula or Gloom Widow.
Final Fantasy VII[]
Thread is an enemy ability used by Jayjujayme. Thread inflicts Stop to one target.
Silk is an enemy ability used by Grashtrike and Jayjujayme. Silk inflicts Slow to one target.
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-[]
Thread is an enemy ability used by Experiment No. 115, Lava Worm, and Worm. It inflicts Stop for 5 seconds on Zack.
Final Fantasy IX[]
String is an enemy ability used by Ralvurahva, while Web is an enemy ability used by Carve Spider. Both abilities inflicts minor non-elemental damage and Slow to one party member.

The version used by Byblos and Tarantula merely inflicts Slow to one party member, while the version used by Cursed+ Enkidu, Enkidu, and Gloom Widow inflicts Slow along with minor non-elemental physical damage to one target.
