Oh, shut up and help me remodel the The Unending Coil of Bahamut page!

I couldn't miss the chance to practice my drawing!
The Unending Coil of Bahamut, commonly abbreviated by players as UCoB, is an Ultimate raid in Final Fantasy XIV. It is the first set of "Ultimate" difficulty content, intended to be of even higher difficulty than the existing "Extreme" and "Savage" difficulty levels. Unlocking it requires completion of
Deltascape V4.0 (Savage), then speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane. Since the addition of Stormblood to the Free Trial in Patch 6.5, Free Trial players are barred from participating.
The duty comprises of a single encounter, where players first fight Twintania, Nael deus Darnus, and Bahamut Prime in succession, before fighting all three together. Once Twintania and Nael deus Darnus defeated, Bahamut Prime uses an unavoidable Teraflare to KO the party, which is then resurrected by the primal Phoenix to resume the battle against a stronger, golden version of Bahamut Prime.
Story[]
There once were brave souls who uncovered the truth of the Seventh Umbral Calamity. Such trials as they overcame were not to be recorded in history, but far from fading with the passage of time, they have been imagined in vivid detail by the wandering minstrel. As his lilting melody caresses your mind's eye, you cannot help but be transported to the scene of struggle against the elder primal Bahamut...

Progression[]
Phase 1 - Twintania[]
Phase 2 - Nael deus Darnus[]
Shortly after Twintania is defeated, the phase will begin with a Heavensfall cast, dropping a proximity marker at the center of the arena, which must be mitigated. The pillar that spawns will also cause a knockback, so Arm's Length and Surecast must be used. The pillar will also spawn conal AoEs that will deal heavy damage to players that are hit, and will inflict paralysis on those that survive. While this is happening, the boss will cast Meteor Stream, requiring all players to spread, as the AoEs will hit four random players, then the remaining four. Dodge the conal AoEs and spread, and the boss will cast a Dalamud Dive AoE on the player who last held enmity on Twintania. Following this, Nael will spawn in the arena and she will become targetable.
The boss will cast Bahamut's Claw, a five-hit tankbuster on the main tank. She will also cast Bahamut's Favor, which will spawn five dragons at the edge of the arena. Following this, the boss will begin a cast; unlike most casts, she will call out which two attacks she will use in order and it is not indicated by a cast bar. The following quotes are possible:
- O hallowed moon, take fire and scorch my foes! - Lunar Dynamo, Thermionic Beam
- O hallowed moon, shine you the iron path! - Lunar Dynamo, Iron Chariot
- Take fire, O hallowed moon! - Thermionic Beam, Lunar Dynamo
- Blazing path, lead me to iron rule! - Thermionic Beam, Iron Chariot
- Fleeting light! Amid of rain of stars, exalt you the red moon! - Meteor Stream, Dalamud Dive
- Fleeting light! 'Neath the red moon, scorch your earth! - Dalamud Dive, Thermionic Beam
- From on high I descend, the iron path to call/walk! - Raven's Dive, Iron Chariot
- From on high I descent, the hallowed moon to call! - Raven's Dive, Lunar Dynamo
Phase 3 - Bahamut Prime[]
Phase 4 - Teraflare[]
Phase 5 - Golden Bahamut Prime[]
This final phase of the raid primarily serves as a victory lap. Once both Nael and Twintania are defeated and Bahamut wipes the party, the Phoenix will arrive and raise everyone, refilling the Limit Break gauge to level 3 and giving them the Phoenix's Blessing buff, significantly increasing their damage dealt, but will also be lost on death.
Once Bahamut is targetable, he will have the Lohs Daih buff, increasing his damage dealt to the party. He will immediately begin casting a Morn Afah untelegraphed stack AoE on a random player, requiring everyone to stack for five hits and heal and mitigate throughout. It may be worth using a Tank Limit Break 3 at the beginning of the phase, as the gauge refills very quickly. Once all five hits of Morn Afah resolve, Bahamut will cast Akh Morn on the highest enmity tank for three hits of shared tankbuster damage. Both tanks can either share it as normal, or use an invulnerability, but it is better for tanks to save them for later casts. Once this resolves, the boss will cast Exaflare, spawning medium-sized AoEs that make their way from one end of the arena. To dodge them, move into another Exaflare AoE as soon as it resolves. The mechanics will repeat themselves for four more times with Bahamut adding another Morn Afah and Akh Morn stack up to nine times. The Morn Afah cast following the fifth set of mechanics is an enrage targeting players from the highest to lowest enmity, so spread and, if needed, tanks can Shirk the healers to ensure that the DPS are killed last.

Etymology[]
Bahamut (Arabic بهموت Bahamūt) originated as an enormous whale in ancient pre-Islamic Arabian mythology. Upon Bahamut's back stands a bull with four thousand eyes, ears, noses, mouths, tongues and feet called Kujuta (also spelled "Kuyutha") (compared with the pair of Behemoth and Leviathan). Between each of these is a distance of a 500-year journey. On the back of Kujuta is a mountain of ruby. Atop this mountain is an angel who carries six hells, earth, and seven heavens on its shoulders.
Another version of the Arabic story is that Bahamut is indeed a dragon and he stands on a whale called Liwash.
In modern times, the game Dungeons & Dragons is responsible for reimagining Bahamut as the king of dragons, a benevolent Platinum Dragon; the opposite of the malevolent Tiamat, the five-headed Chromatic Queen of Dragons.
Titania is a character in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. The name "Titania" means "giant, great one", and is derived from Ovid's Metamorphoses, where it is an appellation given to Titan's daughters. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Titania is the queen of the fairies.
"Twintania" is a portmanteau of the Greek name "Titania" and the prefix "twin"."Akh Morn" is Dragonspeak for "circle of death" (死の輪, shi no wa?).[1][2] "Morn Afah" is Dragonspeak for "eternal death".[3]
