The Torturous Trio is a Global Exclusive Trial for the Chamber of the Fallen in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Players face previously released Bosses in stages: Elafikeras, Echidna and the Bloody Moon. It has a difficulty of 11★.
Strategy[]
All the Bosses behave identically to their initial releases in terms of stats, AI behaviour, abilities, etc. (for more information on each enemy, refer to each Trial linked above).
Some of these Bosses have been severely powercrept however so individually, they are not much of a threat, however their different gimmicks together requires preparation for all three of them.
As a reminder Elafikeras has very high HP but low DEF and SPR, and a weakness to Wind, so using Wind Magic attacks will defeat it quickly (players need to hurry as past turn 8, the player will meet almost certain defeat).
Echidna has much lower HP and not very high DEF/SPR but uses annoying status ailments and ambushes the player with an MP drain and petrify. She can also use instant death (uses it regularly), along Charm, Confusion, etc.
The Bloody Moon is perhaps the most troublesome of the bunch as it comes accompanied with several Apostle sub-bosses. The main problem is that the Moon and its Apostles are immune to physical damage and the Apostles have varying degrees of elemental weaknesses and resistances. Furthermore, the Moon has tricky threshold attacks and if attacked with Black Magic will retaliate very strongly against the player. The player needs to be prepared for instant death to the whole party as well.
Strategy[]
By the time the player attempts this trial, they must have likely overpowered all these foes separately and become much stronger than before. As such the Trial is mostly about being capable of dealing with all three enemies accordingly.
Because the Moon is immune to Physical Attacks the player is encouraged to use Magic Damage (Black Magic is unwise unless they are sure they can defeat the Moon and the Apostles in a single turn). Elafikeras is also more vulnerable to Magic Damage than it is to Physical Damage, so overall using Magic Damage units as the main attackers for the Trial is the wisest option.
A Tank is still encouraged nonetheless. Elafikeras can use powerful physical attacks, Echidna ambushes and targets units for annoying status ailments and lastly the Moon and its Apostles have physical and magic attacks. The player is free to choose what kind of Tank they want to employ whether a physical one or a magic one. Basch can be very ideal for this as he can perform either task and switch as needed.
To make matters easier, the player is recommended to also bring a Healer and a Support unit (at the very least being able to Reraise the party from Echidna's and the Moon's infamous Instant Death abilities). Limit Bursts are discouraged due to one of the Missions forbidding its use, so Lotus Mage Fina and Ayaka should be useful for this as they can Dualcast Reraise (anti-death equipment like Genji Shield or Safety Bit is useful too). The support unit should be capable of bestowing powerful buffs to make quick work of all foes involved and if possible some MP restoration in case the battles take a toll on MP. Maritime Strategist Nichol and Zargabaath (enhanced) are useful.
Another approach is to aim for a One Turn Kill in all battles. Echidna is the frailest of the group and should fall easily in one turn with strong attacks and capping (Trance Terra or Grim Lord Sakura chaining or otherwise double Tornado with Aeroja, and or if available, the Dragonlord's Kafrizzle). An Esper like Bahamut can also work, especially against the Moon as it can deal tremendous damage and with the adequate setup can wipe the Moon and its Apostles in a single turn, though it will require strong buffs as well.
Simply put, the easiest way to beat the Trial with as less problems as possible is to overwhelm the Bosses with a very strong offensive. However some precautions should still be taken if the player is not capable of killing them as quickly.
