"The Garlean Territorial Anthem for Gyr Abania and Surrounding States - The Measure of Our Reach" (我らが支配圏, Warera ga Shihaiken?, lit. Our Territory) is the territorial anthem for the region of Gyr Abania while under occupation by the Garlean Empire from Final Fantasy XIV.
It was composed by Masayoshi Soken and arranged and orchestrated by Sachiko Miyano. The lyrics were written by Michael-Christopher Koji Fox and Banri Oda.
Game appearances[]
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood[]
"The Measure of Our Reach" plays during the cutscene when Zenos yae Galvus is being welcomed to Ala Mhigo.
"The Measure of His Reach" is a version of the anthem with alternate lyrics. It is strongly implied Garlemald kept the melody of the Ala Mhigan anthem to facilitate cultural assimilation across Gyr Abania.
Two instrumental arrangements of the theme plays at Rhalgr's Reach: "Impact" and "Afterglow". They play during the day and at night accordingly.
Other arrangements include "Triumph", which plays as plays as the Dungeon boss theme in Stormblood, and "Nightbloom", which plays during the first phase of the fight with Tsukuyomi in Castrum Fluminis.
A short, unnamed and unreleased arrangement of "The Measure of Our Reach" plays when completing a quest in Stormblood.
"The Measure of Our Reach" is the 10th track, "Impact" is the 3rd track, "Afterglow" is the 6th track, "Triumph" is the 13th track, "The Measure of His Reach" is the 45th track and "Nightbloom" is the 103rd track on the Stormblood: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack.
Lyrics[]
The official lyrics were released on the Stormblood: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack and the Eorzean Symphony: Final Fantasy XIV Orchestral Album Vol.2.
- English
- Beyond majestic mountains
- Across the emerald dale
- On march the ivory standard
- United we prevail
- From distant shores of Othard
- To lakes of Aldenard
- The light of mighty Garlemald
- For e'er our guiding star
- Beneath the lofty heavens
- With tired hands we toil
- In iron do we clad our hearts
- And cloudless are our souls
- Yet every trial suffered
- And every ally mourned
- Do bring us solidarity
- Our spirits stand untorn
- Behold the boundless legions
- Whose wings embrace the sun
- Their fire rains down upon the land
- Until their course is run
- By mercy of Lord Galvus—
- The pride within us all—
- Shall we be granted victory
- For glory, Garlemald
