Use the field generator! If the island goes, so do you!

Cid

The Limitless Blue is a Trial Trial from Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, and is part of the main story. The fight pits players against the primal Bismarck.

Story[]

Hard[]

Inspiration often finds us in surprising ways. So it was that a casual mention of skyfishing helped Cid Garlond conceive a plan to lure out Bismarck, the Lord of the Mists, by using the Enterprise to tow an island through the Sea of Clouds. After binding the beast with chains fired from dragonkillers, he hopes you can engage it in the traditional fashion. Though the plan is somewhat sound in theory, there is no telling how effective it will be in practice. Nevertheless, the engineer has seen you through many dangerous situations in the past, so at least the odds are in his favor...

Extreme[]

As is all too often the case, a primal you felled has once again been summoned. According to Unukalhai, the stakes are even higher this time, as Bismarck's reappearance threatens to hasten the awakening of the Warring Triad—three eikons sealed within the Aetherochemical Research Facility on Azys Lla. Fortunately, you have developed a sound method for slaying flying feathered whales. The Enterprise Excelsior and your island await.

Progression[]

Hard[]

Unlike most trials, players won't be able to damage the boss until the dragonkillers are active and the boss is pulled into the island.

Cetacean Rage- After the cast finishes the boss will ram into the island and destroy a chunk of the island's integrity. Use the field generator to lessen the blow and avoid stun.

After Cetacean Rage the boss will summon Vundu enemies that need to be defeated. the boss will also drop Baleen Bomb AoE's around the arena. Once defeated the dragonkillers will be ready and players can attack the Chitin Carapace. Once broken the boss will summon two Sanuwa adds that need to be defeated and kept from each other. After this Bismarck will cast Breach Blast and the next phase begins.

The next phase is similar to the first but the field generator is gone.

Extreme[]

Most of the extreme version is similar to the normal version, but during the Sanuwa phase players will get a water or wind debuff that will cause players' attacks to reflect back at them, here players have to attack the opposite of their debuff.

After the sanuwa phase the final phase will require attention to the different weather patterns that occur.

  • Water-Stay away from the middle and kill the water bubbles.
  • Wind- players should stand in the middle to avoid being knocked off and stay in the middle to be safe for the next attack.
  • Thunder- Players don't want to kill the water bubbles here as they absorb Bismarck's thunder strikes.
