The game currently features five versions of the theme, each version plays in five territories of Eorzea. All five versions were composed by Masayoshi Soken.

Since the beginning of version 2.0 (A Realm Reborn), five different battle themes were designed by Masayoshi Soken for the five main regions of Eorzea. The versions for the three city-states of the Eorzean Alliance vary only slightly. "The Land Breathes", the version which plays in the areas of La Noscea, features a focus on the horn. Meanwhile, "The Land Burns" Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Dev:Japanese' not found., from the region of Thanalan, includes a harp.

The two other versions of the song are very different in instruments used, and are more distinct from the other three arrangements.
