"The Final Day" (終焉の戦い, Shūen no Tatakai?, lit. The Final Battle) is a final boss theme in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, composed by Masayoshi Soken and arranged by Yoshitaka Suzuki.
It is a medley of the final boss themes in Final Fantasy XIV up to the Shadowbringers expansion: "The Worm's Tail", "Ultima", "Heroes", and "Invincible". It also contains the melody of the "Final Fantasy" main theme.
Lyrics[]
Like "Ultima", "Heroes", "The Worm's Tail", and "Invincible", random sounds that resemble vocals were generated to create the music. The exception was the parts with "Ultima" and "Heroes". It was given actual lyrics for the Final Fantasy XIV Orchestra Concert 2022 -Eorzean Symphony-. The official lyrics were released on the Eorzean Symphony: Final Fantasy XIV Orchestral Album Vol.3.

Final Fantasy Series Acoustic Arrangements[]
This song is a melody made up of three others, each featuring rich symphonic sounds.
I arranged this song using a string quintet and flute to emphasize the tense, powerful nature of a last battle.
In an orchestra, flutes generally have the highest range. However, I elected to utilize a low range contrabass as well, so the range of this piece is as good as what you would find in any orchestra! (laughs)
I hope the arrangement and its various instruments conjure up images of the last battle as you listen to how it connects the songs by urgently iterating on their motifs and utilizing solo parts that blend their melodies.Atsuki Yoshida
"The Final Day" was arranged by Atsuki Yoshida using a string quintet and flute, performed by Yoshida (violin), Erika Aoyama (violin), Mei Mishina (viola), Kirin Uchida (violoncello), Seiya Yoshida (contrabass), and Misaki Hatori (flute). It is track 14 on the album.
