"The Dark Crystals" from Final Fantasy III (DS)

"The Dark Crystals" (闇のクリスタル, Yami no Kurisutaru?) is the background music of the World of Darkness, the final dungeon of Final Fantasy III. It was composed and arranged by Nobuo Uematsu.

Final Fantasy III[]

"The Dark Crystals" is the background theme that plays in the World of Darkness. It is track 42 on the Final Fantasy III Original Sound Version. It was later re-released as track 89 on the Final Fantasy I・II・III Original Soundtrack Revival Disc.

"The Dark Crystals" was rearranged by Keiji Kawamori for the Nintendo DS release. It is track 53 on the Final Fantasy III Original Soundtrack.

"The Dark Crystals FFPR Ver." is a rearrangement by Eri Tsunemoto for the Pixel Remaster. It is track 48 on the Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster Original Soundtrack.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

An arranged version of the theme, called "Blind to the Dark", plays in The World of Darkness The World of Darkness as the dungeon makes a cameo appearance along with the Cloud of Darkness and several other bosses from Final Fantasy III.

The more aggressive version of the theme, called "Hamartomania", plays when the party engages in battles.

Both themes were composed by Masayoshi Soken and arranged by Yoshitaka Suzuki. They are tracks 53 and 54 respectively on the Before the Fall: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT[]

"The Dark Crystals (Arrangement)" is an arrangement by Takeharu Ishimoto that appears as battle music. The FFRK arrangement also appears as battle music along with the original version.

"The Dark Crystals (Arrangement)" is track 3 of disc 2 on the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Original Soundtrack Vol. 2.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]

"The Dark Crystals FFRK Ver. arrange from FFIII" appears as music, arranged by Masaya Tsunemoto. It is track 1 of disc 2 on the Final Fantasy Record Keeper Original Soundtrack Vol.3.

Arrangement album appearances[]

Final Fantasy III: Eternal Legend of the Wind[]

An arrangement of this track by Nobuo Uematsu was included in the "THE DARK CLOUD" track from the album.
