"The Boundless Ocean" (果てしなき大海原, Hateshinaki Ōunabara?) is a theme from Final Fantasy III. It was composed by Nobuo Uematsu.

Final Fantasy III

"The Boundless Ocean" was first released in the original version of the game's soundtrack, of which it was the twenty-fifth track. It was subsequently re-recorded for the original soundtrack of the 3D version, of which it is the thirtieth track.

"The Boundless Ocean" is heard on the world map as the overworld theme for the submerged Surface World, until Kraken is defeated and the Water Crystal is restored.

Final Fantasy XV

The original version appears in the music player as the eleventh track of Memories of FFIII purchased from Coernix Station - Alstor for 100 gil.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy

The original NES version of "The Boundless Ocean" is part of the Final Fantasy III Music Pack DLC distributed through the PlayStation Network. It may be automatically selected for Arcade and Quick Battles featuring the Onion Knight and/or the Cloud of Darkness or taking place at the Crystal Tower or the World of Darkness.
