The area is filled with a poisonous swamp which hinders movement, as any character who stops within it will be inflicted with the Poison status effect. Although the types of enemies which appear are randomly selected, they will almost always be undead, so use that to your advantage. Additionally, this story battle is the first time the player has a chance to encounter the Pig enemy. Since the Wild Boar monster is only obtainable via monster breeding and no Pig-type enemies will appear again until Chapter 4, for those looking to Poach-farm the rare items dropped by these types of monsters it may be desirable to have someone with the Entice (Invitation) ability from the Orator job to recruit one and begin farming rare items early.
