Tarantula (タランチュラ, Taranchura?) is a recurring enemy in the series. It first appeared in the first Final Fantasy game.

Tarantulas appear as enemies in Marsh Cave, the Cavern of Earth, and on the world map around Elfheim. Their attacks have a chance to inflict poison.
Final Fantasy III[edit | edit source]
Tarantulas appear as enemies on the northwest edge of the Floating Continent. They have strong physical attacks and are weak to Fire.
Final Fantasy IV[edit | edit source]
Alraune appears as an enemy that can be found in the Lunar Ruins and on a three tile peninsula in the Underworld, directly south of the Sylph Cave. They can only use the Earthquake ability.
Final Fantasy V[edit | edit source]
Tarantulas appear as enemies in Castle Exdeath. They can use Web to inflict Slow on a party member.

Tarantula refers to a family of spiders which inhabit much of the warmer areas of the world. Known for their impressive size, Tarantulas are often kept as pets or used in cuisine. Despite their tendency to inflict the
