The Tangie is an enemy from Final Fantasy III, fought in the inner sea. Tangies are the second strongest enemies encountered in the sea and drop a wealth of useful items. As a Water-based enemy, they are weak to Lightning. They are a bit of a nuisance due to their ability to inflict Sleep through the use of Glare, but are otherwise easy enemies to defeat. They should be dealt with first if possible; otherwise, save them for last, as they only have a 40% chance of using Glare per turn.

The Tangie is a shapeshifting water spirit in Scottish mythology. It usually appears as either a horse or a merman. It is known for terrorizing lonely travelers, especially young women.
