Fight him?[]
Who the hell hates themselves enough to do this fight?
I tried it, but didn't have the 4+ hours to spare so I let myself be killed. The HP amount does seem a little ridiculous tho, a superboss can be difficult enough without needing 50 million HP. Even Penance was bad enough, after getting a strategy worked out, it is still a matter of doing the same actions over and over and over etc
Mymindislost - You made me forget my dreams when I woke up to you sleeping... TALK - 15:17, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
I remember the first time my roommate approached Yiazmat. It took me a moment to realize that all those dots under the HP bar were also HP bars. I was just like, "Holy hell. That'll take forever." I haven't even tried it myself. Maybe one of these days...
I'm ashamed to admit, I have beaten the guy a long time ago. I was on level 70, and the battle was taking 6+ hours of my life. lots of strategy switching to do. I'm ashamed because some did it in less than 4 hrs and had much lower level than me. but I bested him, nvrtheless :D
On my file, all my characters, all 6 of them, are at level 90. I've currently knocked off 3-4 bars, but then I got bored, saved, and decided to fight him later. Still to actually go back to fight him.
- Did you defeat it after you already beat the game?
- You can't defeat it after you beat the game. You just can't. 219.95.166.86 08:35, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- I mean, create another save file before you fight the final boss, and then continue on with the game's side quests with the other save file. This endless line of side quests and marks is tedious and is making the game boring. I don't know if I can keep it up anymore.
- Nobody's forcing you to play the game. 08:44, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I am. After all, I did go through FFX-2 at least four times before I got 100%.
- Then why whine here? Hey, why dont you pick up FFX-2 International + Last Mission? It's FFX-2 with double the fun. Trust me. 08:50, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I just read this. Does that count?

it's not so bad unless you try and do it all at once.[]
The only major problem I had was getting greedy "I can knock off another bar before he uses Cyclone again..."
IMHO one of the easier superbosses of the series[]
I'd like to know why people find this fight so difficult. After I had gotten it unlocked I figured I wasn't ready for it yet because of all the hype surrounding him, but just for fun I went to feel him out and watch how badly he'd kick my ass. About an hour and a half later I won, with only two scares that can be attributed to cyclone going off when reverse was down. I started the fight with just simple in-your-face tactics that I used everywhere else in the game, which worked great until about 35-40% when I started to lose control of the fight since people would die faster than they would re-buff and get back to attack mode, so at this point I decided to try having everybody cast reverse on themselves. This worked until I ran out of ethers (probably shouldn't have been using shell. oops). At this point I decided I was spending too much time (and mp) trying to keep reverse on everybody so I switched to just casting reverse on one character, and also casting decoy on him (the first time I'd ever actually USED decoy the entire game). This worked for the rest of his hp, with the above mentioned scares. All in all a very easy fight, I am supremely underwhelmed. I was completely unprepared for this fight (hell, I had fran using an OROCHI because I hadn't gotten darkblade yet- and she was actually using masamune up until he switched to resist damage mode when I remembered I even had the thing) and had no real strategy going in, and I won without even really trying.
This is the same thing that happened to me when I went to "test the waters" with Hell Wyrm, I figured it'd kick my ass in the state I was in when I went for it, but I ended up winning easily. So... what's the deal guys? Why is this so difficult for you? --67.160.118.193 18:46, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- And just to add, I never ran out of the arena once. I did the whole fight in one straight shot. --67.160.118.193 18:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Congratulations! You've been awarded the "No life nerd" award! I never knew someone would hate life to do this.
Try beating the thing without using reverse. I did and about half way through his cyclone caused me to 'game over'. Something of a shock to me as I was under the impression that I have three perfectly healthy party members waiting in the wings. Apparently I must have forgotten to arise them. But secretly I believe the game is just a bastard and did it just to screw me over.--86.15.98.230 15:58, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Revenant Wings Yiazmat?[]
Shoudn't we bring up the Yiazmat from Revenant Wings, possibly the only problem is figuring the stats, but it is possible trying to make a battle walkthrough or just tell it's history or something?
8bit BlackMage - Beyond the Sky TALK - Why do chemists call helium, curium, and barium 'the medical elements'? Because, if you can't 'helium' or 'curium', you... um... ._.; - {{{time}}}
This is a wiki. If you can determine the stats, then go ahead and create the page. From what I understand, Yiazmat's stats in Revenant Wings differ depending on the player's level.
Well, I fought him before and last time I heard, for storyline/special leaders, the level is just a threat, but the only ones I can remember is that Stamina and Mind is over 1000, attack speed is 11 (even slower than Zalera), and his HP is close to the amount Feolthanos has in the first battle, but I'll see if they change the next time I face him (PS his level was 65 and his level is the average of the entire party plus 15). BTW when i said "battle walkthrough" I really meant in how you put battle and the underline thingy (it's in this article"). I do know his attacks, his basic one is White Breath causes Stop, has Death Strike which kills one foe, Cyclone makes a return too and that's about what I can remember. PS I never thought I was going to write it for this wiki, so that's why I didn't copy them on paper! --UndyingvsSephiroth 00:50, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Strongest boss[]
ALOT of people think that he is the strongest boss in the Final Fantasy seiries. In my opinion, I think so too. He would toatally pwn Safer Sephiroth in a boss on boss fight.
Wrath of Darkness 20:03, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Wrath of Darkness
Lots of bosses would "pwn" Safer Sephiroth, he's easy. I don't even think Sephiroth ranks in the top 20 hardest FF bosses.
I don't think there's any doubt, there's no boss harder than Yiazimat, but I gotta say, you have to fight Penance all in one go, without the option to save, and return to battle. So I'm not sure which is stronger.
Hey, don't underestimate Safer Sephiroth. All he needs is two moves: "Heartless Angel" and "Shadow Flare" to defeat any enemy in existance. 50 million HP isn't much when "Heartless Angel" can knock it down to 1 in a single move.
But then again, do fiends fight other fiends? Oh wait....they do..
The most powerful bosses in the Final Fantasy series are Pandemonium Warden and Absolute Virtue, not Yiazmat.--Sinh 12:43, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
To me, this boss was longer than he was hard, I struggled with Ozma, Omega (VIII), and Omega mark XII a lot more than I did with this guy74.166.76.13 16:09, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Battle Theme[]
Does anyone know the battle theme song when fighting against Yiazmat? Kuzlalala Squee! 14:09, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

i cannot say it for certain but isn't the gariff story about the dragon challenging its creator tied in with yiazmat's etymology?
How to Unlock Yiazmat[]
I've read the Yiazmat page but what it doesn't say is how you unlock the mark. Montblanc just tells me there aren't any more marks, so I'm at a bit of a loss.
You have to complete every mark hunt in the entire game, not just the ones they give you at the clan. This includes the ones you see at pub boards. I hated those marks... And you may as well be out of your mind if you haven't gotten past Pharos yet.
Also, you have to kill the Hell Wyrm.
Farewell to a Legend?[]
Lol! That second theory is the stupidest one I've ever heard! I can't see the development team hinting an insult at Yasumi, but maybe I'm just biased.
Godslayer Badge for Wyrmhero Blade?[]
I no longer remember whether it was me who added that bit or not, but isn't it the Clan Centurio Hero's Badge you need for Wyrmhero Blade, not Godslayer Badge? I don't think the Godslayer Badge actually does anything?Keltainentoukokuu 19:52, June 23, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
- As far as I recall, you need all the badges in-game to get the Wyrmhero Blade, Godslayer included. - Paramina 21:32, June 23, 2010 (UTC)
- You don't need the Clan Centurio badge. The three badges you need are the Godslayer, the Lu Shang, and the Omega (I think that's what it's called) badges. ScatheMote 21:35, June 23, 2010 (UTC)
- Alright thanks, then it is perfectly right as it is.Keltainentoukokuu 02:17, June 24, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

Damage Dealers - 50 minute combo[]
Just a thought about the damage dealers for the 50 minute combo, to remove the necessity to manually have them attack:
Gambits:
- 1 - Self: MP < 10%: Charge
- 2 - Self: HP Critical: Berserk
- 3 - Self: Infuse
What happens is this, assuming a full HP/MP character:
First Round:
- Gambit 1 fails, because > 10% MP, so...
- Gambit 2 then? No, fails as well, not in Critical HP.
- Gambit 3 executes first time, result: 0 MP.
Second Round:
- Gambit 1 triggers, because, less than 10% MP, Charge is used. There is some mana now.
- Gambit 2 still does not fire, we're not quite there yet, the first Infuse gave us a healthy HP pool.
- Gambit 3 fires, Infusing yet again.
Third Round:
- Gambit 1 does not fire, we have > 10% MP.
- Gambit 2 fires this time around, since we're in critical HP (thanks to the Infuse from the 2nd round).
- Gambit 3 will not fire, assuming the Berserk caught on.
If not, the whole thing repeats itself without auto-killing the damage dealer, this is true because there will always be SOME MP, thanks to the Charge.
Now, equip this damage dealer with the Genji Gloves and the Masamune and be prepared for some sick damage.
I like it.[]
That they added an "i" to the name is the best part. Apparently, Babylonian Chaos Monsters are more well known to US players than the guy who was highly responsible for directing some of the most well-developed storylines in FF history. That says something, im just not sure what.

Dead character glitch[]
Would someone be so kind as to explain how the hell this actually works with Yiazmat?
Even when glitched, he still attacks my party... so as far as *I'M* concerned, it doesn't work!
- It should delay Yiazmat's special attack indefinitely, like in the video on the Dead character glitch page. Yiazmat can still attack with physical attacks to begin with. What happens with you, it only handicaps you and not Yiazmat?Keltainentoukokuu 12:15, December 15, 2011 (UTC)
This page tho[]
So much ****ing spam on this talk page. This isn't a social forum! It should be about the article. Someone has to put an end to this........... 72.231.228.215 17:39, July 24, 2016 (UTC)
