Template[]

The class code, and therefore template name will be "WoFF", right? I'm asking because I want to create a template because we're slowly approaching the game's release and I'd prefer if we had a template already by that time. We just don't have class code, but from what I know we are in the middle of some CSS/JS stuff things, so it's gonna be a while before we get them (class codes) for media we lack.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 16:44, June 29, 2016 (UTC)

Videos?[]

I don't see why not. I don't know how videos play in all versions of the wiki, but if someone can't play them they just can't. I can't play embedded videos here because I don't have Flash (I guess?), but well so it goes.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:44, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

I'm uploading all of the footage from my of the game to Youtube, btw. If you don't mind that they are in Japanese, these are probably pretty good for making .gifs with? Also, the actual 1080p video files I have on my local machine are much higher quality (4hours and 20mins = 55gb), so if you want screenshots let me know and I'll take them. I've been screencapping key moments like when you meet a new character or when you catch a new monster periodically. Most of them are still sitting on my desktop, but samples can be found here: screenshots.  mecorx (talk) - 10:56, Jan 04, 2017
Like .gifs of abilities? I suppose you would have to download the videos with a Youtube video downloader OR record your screen as the part you want is playing... My Youtube videos, aside from the first one, are in 1080p so they should serve as good starting material. Perhaps a plugin might help with this, too?  mecorx (talk) - 11:12, Jan 04, 2017

More Returning Characters[]

Chocolina from XIII-2 is going to be in this game, the official website calls her Chocolatte for some reason but confirms its her through her bio. Hopefully all series veterans are usable in fights. Enkidu from V will also make an appearance. Should this get put in? Probably need to add a new trivia piece for Chocolina/Chocolatte.

Perhaps the game will explain Chocolatte's appearance under this name. But, the fact the website lists her as a XIII-2 character and confirms her voice actor is Chocolina's strongly confirms she is the same character. In the case of Enkidu, it has to specifically be the FFV version like Gilgamesh. (Until we play the game, we don't know yet who all the returning characters are, much less how they are categorized and such... We shall have to see! Mierna 01:47, October 22, 2016 (UTC)

Separate character articles for Grymorian versions of FF characters?[]

It is mentioned several times in the Who's Who that most of the recurring characters in the Final Fantasy series that appear in this game are in fact copies of the original characters, and have slighty different personalities than the originals (unlike the characters in the Dissidia Final Fantasy games, and this point was even brought up in Lann and Reynn's story in DFF:OO). Should we create new pages for the Grymoirian characters entirely (as has already been done with Gilgamesh and Garland)? --Twilight Man (talk) 20:31, June 21, 2019 (UTC)

Seems that Gilgamesh and Garland are enemy pages, so they should always have separate pages.
If the characters have the same general appearance and name, they seem to be intended to represent a version of the same character, still, so I wouldn't count as a "different character". In the mobile games where you can summon FF characters they are also "copies" (?) as well. But if there is enough info on the WoFF characters available, should they have their own subpages like /Dissidia, /Brave Exvius etc? What gameplay info or story is there? Characters now have info in their /Other appearances but seems just images and the Who's Who.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 01:28, June 22, 2019 (UTC)
Well... I just bought the game recently and I noticed that, unlike the amount of gameplay or story stuff that Dissidia or even Theathrhythm have, not many of the characters have huge roles honestly. Some only appear for a very short amount of time and then you almost never see them again. They don't do anything in battle (unless you count Champion Medals and Jewels) or have any stats so I don't really think that making a bunch of pages for Who's Who stuff, very little story stuff, and pictures are really necessary. I mean this is my opinion but, I don't think they should, most of these characters already have like 4-5 subcharacter pages anyway I don't really think they need more.--Xion V. (talk) 09:05, June 22, 2019 (UTC)
Not in agreement there Xion, sorry. Personally, I think they should have their own separate pages. The characters that appear in World of Final Fantasy are separate characters in the same manner as Kingdom Hearts, so they do have their own personal backstories from the who's who entries and the events of the game, especially with their regular and Cogna/Herald intervention quests.
Prime examples include Terra's story in the game, which is different since Seigwardes kidnapped her years before the events of the game and was forced to become a slave to the Order of the Circle. Shelke's backstory of her brother becoming possessed that leads her to joining the League of S and also serves as a major role in the Diabolos questlines. Cloud being in Shinra which lead to a version of the Nibelheim incident that caused Zack and Aerith to die, which plays a role with intervention quests.
With the events of the main game and intervention quests, appearance and personally (yes some characters do change), along with gameplay for champions skins and summons; I don't see why they can't have their own /World of Final Fantasy pages? --Miphares (talk) 14:52, June 22, 2019 (UTC)
I get not wanting a million subpages, but there is infinite space here after all, so we don't really need to restrict them either. The bottom bit in character infoboxes could be collapsed if the list gets stupid long.
So a /World of Final Fantasy page would have...infobox with name, age, portrait, whatever, intro on who they are and perhaps how they are different from the main entry, where you meet them, then Who's Who, story (can't be just paraphrased from the Who's Who though), gameplay if any (sidequest info?), gallery, and any Trivia (like allusions). Anything else?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:50, June 22, 2019 (UTC)
Going back to this after about two years, since I decided to have a hand at making separate pages for the Grymoirian versions of the main characters...but one minor (but noticeable) detail is that these copies do not have last names like their original versions do (if I recall, they're not even mentioned by any character or document in-game). When making pages for these characters, would they be listed as "Name (World of Final Fantasy)" or "Name Surname (World of Final Fantasy)"? --Twilight Man (talk) 18:14, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
In my opinion if the surname is not mentioned anywhere in the game, call the page Squall (World of Final Fantasy), and then just in the page itself can say that "this is the World of Final Fantasy incarnation of Squall Leonhart originating from Final Fantasy VIII" or something.
That example page is great!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:15, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
