Wakka a Gambler[edit source]

Are you sure he shouldn't have Gambler as a secondary job type? Because of Slots and all.
--Auron Kaizer 23:29, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

No, he should have Gambler as a main, because of his Overdrive. Others argue he's an Archer/Ranger, but having the command !Aim, isn't just for him, it's for anyone who gets a hold of it and learns it. Doesn't mean it's not near him, or the fact you have to have him learn it, but mostly it's recommended you do have him learn it. Technically he starts with Dark Attack.
--LuvLuv G2000 01:40, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
His main job should be ranger, and secondary should be Gambler. But that's just me, you're the only one who is right here anyways obviously.
--Auron Kaizer 15:23, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, I keep having him as a Gambler as the main and None for the second, so whoever keeps reverting it stop, because you're causing misinformation again.
--LuvLuv_G2000 5:34, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
YOU'RE The one causing misinformation. Geez, the people around here sure don't have any kind of idea about this.
--Auron Kaizer 22:38, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Hey, there's no need to be snippy. We should discuss this like proper gentlemen, because that's what you and I are. So let's try this again, kind sir. Thank you.
--Chris 22:40, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Intended statgrowth, personal abilities and directly related skills take precedence over Overdrives, i.e. he is primarily a Ranger, Secondarily a Gambler.
--Hecko X 23:14, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Alright. But I still didn't want it to turn into a hurtful arguement. You guys are nice, so I wanna keep it that way.

Wakka's Lulu's husband[edit source]

"However, Wakka and Lulu find love for one another, and six months after the ending of Final Fantasy X, are wed to one another." -Eileen-

*blinks* Who told you they weren't married? lol. I still think it's cool you put that here. :D
--Chris 22:42, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

WHAT?[edit source]

I don't mean to be rude, but what's with the quote? I don't understand what you are implying. Once again, I don't mean to be rude.-Yunalesca-

That Wakka and Lulu are married. And please don't make an entirely new section when responding to someone's post. --Hecko X 22:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Ooh! Idea![edit source]

Would it be alright if we included the Sphere Grid area pictures of where the FFX people start? Or? Because it'd look more helpful, but I'm not sure if it'd clash with the FFX-2 part.

The first rascist in the Final Fantasy world[edit source]

The Al Bhed are a movement, not an ethnicity, though, aren't they? So wouldn't he just be a regular bigot?Glorious CHAOS! 15:23, December 24, 2009 (UTC)
The Al-Bhed are actually a different ethnicity/race. Their eyes are different than the Hume (or whatever the name of the non-Al-Bhed race/ethnicity is)- the pupils are spirals. Violetmage♥ 15:30, December 24, 2009 (UTC)
Rikku eye.jpg
  • bump* Although the Al Bhed are a different ethnicity, it is on the basis of their principles that Wakka attacks them. It's because the Al Bhed oppose the teachings of Yevon, not strictly speaking just because they're Al Bhed. So yes, he's a bigoted religious fundamentalist, not a racist -- Sorceror Nobody 09:10, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

He doesn't hate them because they don't follow the teachings; that's just an excuse for him. He really hates them because Chappu, his brother, fought with an Al Bhed weapon against Sin and was killed. BlitzballArt.pngTidus357 03:06, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

wakka`s age[edit source]

i believe that he is somewhere in his 30s if i remember correctly. i believe that that also applies to lulu.-- 01:34, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

The game's manual shows their ages. 23 in FFX.Keltainentoukokuu 01:37, October 18, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu the european manual doesnt say anything about age. though i believe that the european version of the game state that wakka as well a lulu is somewhere in their 30s.-- 01:51, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
Where him being 24 in FFX/26 in X-2 came from? I'm pretty sure 20th Anniversary Ultimania listed him 23/25 respectively, and he himself told to Tidus in Besaid, that he joined Aurochs 10 years before, when he was 13.--LeafShinobi (talk) 17:19, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

Not Hawaiian[edit source]

Previous text said that he would be considered Hawaiian in our world. Which is not quite true. It would be more accurate to say that he would be Austronesian. The same can be true of Besaid really.

And it makes sense. Final Fantasy X as a whole has strong Southeast Asian influences in it. Wakka's clothing, is even distinctly Southeast Asian. The open sleeveless jacket with geometric designs coupled with pants that reach mid-calves is the traditional male costume of much of maritime Southeast Asia.

Besaid is also an island, and Austronesians as a whole were excellent sailors, who spread around the islands of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, reaching as far west as Madagascar, and as far east as possibly even South America.

For those who do not know the term, "Austronesian" is what is referred to in colloquial speech as "islanders". They belong to the same ethnicity, speak languages originating from the same linguistic family, and originate from the indigenous peoples of Taiwan (before the Chinese settled there). Modern Austronesians do include Hawaiians, in addition to the rest of the Polynesians (including the Maori of New Zealand), Micronesians, Madagascans, and maritime Southeast Asians (i.e. not including the Indochinese).

Good to know. Wakka's outfit is just the Besaid Aurochs blitzball team uniform, isn't it, but I suppose it'd make sense if they were all dressed in Southeast Asian manner?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:21, January 1, 2014 (UTC)
