What belongs here[]
Just in case you're confused by the title:
- We're going to be looking for those things that make you scream one way or the other; joy if you land them, agony if you don't.
- Things that you have to beg, plead, hope, and pray to the Almighty RNGods that you get should be here.
- If you can get it in a treasure chest or through shopping, it's probably not as rare as we'd want to see here.
- Key items should NEVER be here. If they are, zap them!

Why not key items? Some like FFIX's are stupidly hard to get (good luck getting that King of Jump Rope for instance!), and the Pink Tail is technically a key item in itself despite being able to get multiple copies of it. And let's not talk about the Rainbow Pudding in the DS version which I got after spending literally 12 hours farming (and it dropped on the very last fight I was going to call quits on), which is needed to get the Safe Travels Augment in the first place. And the chest thing really depends per game, since there's things like Zodiac Spears in FFXII which IIRC outside of the main method of getting, you can ONLY get from chests.
- Vell, zen, vat are you vaitink for?! Get in here, man. I've covered the Pudding, so I suppose "badges of honor" are covered. My fingers wouldn't be fast enough to catch FF IX's Athlete Queen, now that you reminded me of it. HA! Swordzmanp236 (talk) 02:48, July 22, 2016 (UTC)
Hmmm...there's also Excalibur II but that's permanently misseable so that shouldn't be here I think. There's the Ribbon ability in FFX but that's an ability. Also, shouldn't this be "List of very rare items"? It sounds better that way.
Excalibur II is actually not permanently missable, strictly speaking; if the player allows the in game clock to overflow (which iirc takes about 3 years), then you'll have a chance to get it again. Practical, no. But it still means the sword is not permanently missable 71.214.6.124 20:26, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
- Added mention of that. Good trivia.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:55, January 1, 2019 (UTC)
FF VIII - Luck UP[]
Luck-J Scroll (Luck-J) and Luck Up can only be obtained by refining each other (1:1 in case of Luck Up to Luck-J Scroll, 2:1 otherwise) and both are in limited number, making unlimited number exclusively available through Chocobo World.
1 Dark Matter refines into 1 Luck-J Scroll. As said a few lines above, one can obtain Dark Matters by refining Curse Spikes (100:1:1:1).

- Can't you find one from a random Esthar island, and mug Odin or something, as well?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:59, June 10, 2019 (UTC)
