Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Vagrant Story". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

Forgive Me But...

...How is Vagrant Story even remotely connected to the Final Fantasy series apart from being made by the same people? Should it even have a page here? We are the Final Fantasy Wiki, not Square-Enix Wiki. --SmegHead 11:08, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

It's set in Ivalice, and the Kiltia sect are in it (from XII). Also, some of the Monster info in XII is written by one of the Vagrant Story characters. I'm actually hoping for a PSP rerelease of it under the Ivalice Alliance. Diablocon 12:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough. I will admit that I havent played Vagrant Story so feel free to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about! --SmegHead 12:20, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Its also made by Yazmat, director for FFT and FFXII (originally). Its connection is strong enough to warrent an article. This was treasurehunted from Wiki, yes, but it will be Finally Fantasized for connections in the end. My connection was aweful yesterday. There are enough links already going here to warrent its inclusion anyway. --TacticAngel 04:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Long-term goal

I bought Vagrant Story. I plan on playing it again. I initially lost pretty badly but... hopefully this time around I will have better luck. I will try to make more substantive observations so we can take that pesky tag off of the top of this page. --TacticAngel 11:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I only rented Vagrant Story, years ago. I'm trying to find a copy, but all I can find are Japanese ones. Diablocon 12:02, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Notes on FF Connections

  • Seventh Heaven -FFVII- Crossbow in the game.
Seventh Heaven has also appeared in several FF games as well if I remember correctly. You can add it if you want though. Diablocon 09:50, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
More or less, I'm writting down anything that is similar between Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy as I'm going through the game, kind of like this is a notepad. --TacticAngel 20:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Function of Cure can be used to damage undead - though not uncommon to other series
  • Spirit Surge -FFXI- DD Spell
  • Gran Grimoire - FFTA - Leá Monde is mentioned as the Gran Grimoire, not to mention that only FFXII, FFT/A, and Vagrant Story seem keen on using the word Grimoire... which I can't even say well.
I've already noted the Gran Grimoire, just so you know. And you're not alone in not being able to say that word, but I believe it's pronounced "grim-WAHR". It's a French word, so that would explain it. Diablocon 12:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Agrias' Balm and that Star Sapphire. --Chris 01:53, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
